Toyota is not trying to build a Raptor killer. They clearly refuse to get sucked into that unlike Ram did with it's equally dumb TRX. Yeah they need to put tow hooks, even if it's at the bottom of the vehicle. And also need to use the grand highlander styled design for a pano roof with max headroom since with the pano roof, the grand highlander has more room than the pano roof of the tundra
The TRD should be able to handle the curb when I drive over it in the grocery store parking lot. That cage thing and the 1600lbs payload should be enough to handle my grocery bags.

I had a 2022 Tundra TRD Pro for about 6 months. I really did not like it especially the hybrid regen braking system that made a loud humming noise every time I stepped on the brake (Toyota claimed that was "normal"). I disliked that so much it took the fun out of driving the truck. Ended up trading it in for a 2023 F150 Raptor and couldn't be happier. When discussing the MSRP Toyota (as well as all other manufacturers i guess) has really crapped on it's customer base. The video mentions that the 2024 MSRP is around $71K...in 2022 the MSRP of my Pro was $66500. Just shows how crazy truck prices have gotten (and that's not just Toyota)...same exact truck as two years ago but $5-6K more.
Interesting comment about the braking. Savage Geese mentioned a weird humming noise when they tested the Sequoia. I think Toyota blew it with the Tundra. The Big 3 trucks are just much more refined and still offer v-8s. The Capstone is a joke, offering the black and white interior as the only option. I know the fan boys will claim these trucks will go " a million miles" but we don't know what the reliability will be for a few years.

The TRD Pro has to be the worst choice to purchase. You lose so many features for a suspension and pay such a premium for it. It doesn't make sense to me. I'd get the Platinum over the TRD any day.
Toyota unlike all other Manufacturers use a Nickel battery pack and not a lithium. There is a reason and that is weight and safety. If I was purchasing a truck it would be this one, but not many are available and the up charge on these is crazy.
Try setting the mpg per trip and not all average. Per trip resets every time the engine turns off. The all average takes about 70 miles to get an average and you may never get to that point if you're not driving hours at a time..

Toyota needs to get off their rears and make a HD 2500 and 3500 truck for people wanting a reliable work truck. I am not worried about the engine failure thing being it was a manufacturing error and not a design flaw so that will get fixed I am sure of it. The Waste gate thing was very small and only happened early on so I think these truck will end up being the most reliable and longest lasting trucks in the long run:P
I’m going to say this You know and I know Toyota know how to build a reliable truck. They have always been that way. What happened now you think they forgot how to build this is done on purpose. Four for a reason now you figure it out what the reason is somebody is trying to destroy this brand that’s what it is
After 3 weeks and 1000 miles on my 2024 Tundra (I Force 3.5L, TRD Sport 4x4, Sport Premium package, Crewmax, 5.5 bed) consider the following: Pros Electronic steering is great, tightens at highway speeds, looser at low speeds Transmission very smooth Excellent power at low RPM, Sport mode is truly something that will get your attention 19.2 MPG average over a mix of highway and town Quiet at highway speeds Seats very comfortable Transfer case shifting very smooth (4H, 4L, etc.) Materials seem to be good quality, seats, molding, trim, etc. Handling is very, very good for a truck (steering, cornering) Cons Had to refit a piece of the window trim that was loose from factory, unacceptable QC from Toyota on this 22 gallon gas tank is a loser - Toyota really screwed up with 22 gallons being the base tank size Radio does not mute when using Apple Car Play for voice messaging, music/radio keep playing HAVC controls are not ideal, hard to see in the daylight On fan speed 3 and above there is a whistle noise from the defroster Auto start stop must be disabled every time you start the truck, should offer a way to permanently turn it off Cannot comment in reliability or durability in just 1000 miles.
Reliable? Right… 😂 There’s a recall where the tundra may start on fire. And turbo wastegate issues, poor quality, poor fit finish Yeah sure… it’s “reliable” alright 😂
I went with the GMC sierra 2024 over the toyota. I just felt like they just slapped some new tech into the same old design. I love Toyota and Lexus but they need to up there game .
From my observation Every cars and trucks has their own FLAWS… And these are the FLAWS that i’ve found on the TUNDRA trucks…Toyota needs to upgrade premium speakers for better sounds, upgrade the keyfob as well it’s kinda plasticky and cheap. Eliminates and no more middle hump on the floor in the backseats and Add front tow hooks also… if Toyota fix these problems they sell them trucks like hot cakes !
Although I have no interest in this truck, I decided to call around some of my local Toyota dealers and each one said they would be at least a 10K market adjustment when they get one in. 😂
Haven't been impressed in a long time about Toyota Trucks coming out..always seems like they go half ass or just miss the styling in and out all together
That’s weird cause I’m my 22 tundra trd pro with full lift and 22’s with. 35’s I get 24.3 when driving on the city and highway I get 22.3 I put gas every 3 .5 weeks daily driver also

Does the tailgate lock?
No rear underseat storage is really a huge knock for me....
What do you mean by flawed?
Toyota needs to get off their rears and make a HD 2500 and 3500 truck for people wanting a reliable work truck. I am not worried about the engine failure thing being it was a manufacturing error and not a design flaw so that will get fixed I am sure of it. The Waste gate thing was very small and only happened early on so I think these truck will end up being the most reliable and longest lasting trucks in the long run:P
How many miles per gallon
on this one?
I’m going to say this You know and I know Toyota know how to build a reliable truck. They have always been that way. What happened now you think they forgot how to build this is done on purpose. Four for a reason now you figure it out what the reason is somebody is trying to destroy this brand that’s what it is
After 3 weeks and 1000 miles on my 2024 Tundra (I Force 3.5L, TRD Sport 4x4, Sport Premium package, Crewmax, 5.5 bed) consider the following:
Pros
Electronic steering is great, tightens at highway speeds, looser at low speeds
Transmission very smooth
Excellent power at low RPM, Sport mode is truly something that will get your attention
19.2 MPG average over a mix of highway and town
Quiet at highway speeds
Seats very comfortable
Transfer case shifting very smooth (4H, 4L, etc.)
Materials seem to be good quality, seats, molding, trim, etc.
Handling is very, very good for a truck (steering, cornering)
Cons
Had to refit a piece of the window trim that was loose from factory, unacceptable QC from Toyota on this
22 gallon gas tank is a loser - Toyota really screwed up with 22 gallons being the base tank size
Radio does not mute when using Apple Car Play for voice messaging, music/radio keep playing
HAVC controls are not ideal, hard to see in the daylight
On fan speed 3 and above there is a whistle noise from the defroster
Auto start stop must be disabled every time you start the truck, should offer a way to permanently turn it off
Cannot comment in reliability or durability in just 1000 miles.
Toyota is an American truck....It's made in America
Made by non-union slaves in San Antonio. And all the money goes into the pockets of Japanese executives.
I thought it was made in Saigon 😮
15:10 Ford has 4 Auto and I use it all the time. Great solution.
It’s very nice! I really love pickup trucks! I love the red seats, they should make a all electric one
Hope this new gen sells well enough for Toyota to make a true Raptor competitor. Call it the Ironman Stewart Edition.
It doesn’t sell well at all. A highlander outsells this by an absolute mile
Praise the car gods for at least leaving us with 1 reliable brand !
Reliable? Right… 😂
There’s a recall where the tundra may start on fire. And turbo wastegate issues, poor quality, poor fit finish
Yeah sure… it’s “reliable” alright 😂
@naveenthemachine don't forget now they are blowing engines due to bearing failures. It's all over the forums.
I went with the GMC sierra 2024 over the toyota. I just felt like they just slapped some new tech into the same old design. I love Toyota and Lexus but they need to up there game .
I still don't know why they won't carry over the black headliner like a the tacoma pro
Toyota’s not good at that kind of engineering
Go Honda Mazda Hyundai Kia for that
Toyota is the best, my CAB driver told me so.
Although I have no interest in this truck, I decided to call around some of my local Toyota dealers and each one said they would be at least a 10K market adjustment when they get one in. 😂
No, you didn't call anyone. You made that up in its entirety. Very odd thing to do.
False, I just bought one today. No markup and got 7k off MSRP. Congratulations, you played yourself
I bought the Terra color one today in PA. Msrp was 2k+ cheaper then some other places with 0 markup.
You are the best . You give concise and honest reviews sir❤
yea for the newer trucks that are 80k price and a high interest rate im good they better drop it 30k if they want people to buy it.
Can you finally pls add chapters to your videos..
Haven't been impressed in a long time about Toyota Trucks coming out..always seems like they go half ass or just miss the styling in and out all together
You must wear a MAGA ballcap
Agreed. Toyota just keeps phoning it in with almost every new model
The only exceptions so far I’ve seen where they nailed it are the Camry and lc500
So true!!
I got my 2024 TRD PRO today.
Torque
What was the outdoor price? Did the markup the MSRP?
That’s weird cause I’m my 22 tundra trd pro with full lift and 22’s with. 35’s I get 24.3 when driving on the city and highway I get 22.3 I put gas every 3 .5 weeks daily driver also
Must have a full Time 4x4 drive system
Thats a deal breaker if you can constently feel the engine switching back on everytime you put your foot down like its changing another gear that will get old fast..
Good Toyota i FORCE MAX
I could only imagine what that gas mileage would be without the electric motor.
The same
sorry to tell ya, but this is a 23 not a 24 since it lacks black headliner
I wonder if there is a subscribe limit. Just noticed I wasnt subscibed.. maybe i wasnt before? anyways, resubbed!
What does “max payload” mean? Just show the door sticker for actual payload. I’m guessing this truck is in the 1,200s unfortunately.
Are the Toyota Tundra beds made in Mexico?
Is your mom's bed made in Mexico?
@@gerry9306u made no sense dude
@@toyotabrony perhaps not to you Brony
@@gerry9306 even so. Still no lols man.
@@toyotabrony Brony, I'm not really sure how you got into the mix? Do you sweep floors at the Tundra factory or something? 😲
