  • I’ve always bought frozen steamable veggies that I can just pop in the microwave. However, this is a good method to know in the event I only have fresh veggies on hand. What makes it even better is that the process can be only 10 minutes or less! To steam your veggies of choice (can use a variety: zucchini, corn, squash, cauliflower florets, broccoli florets), add 1-1/2 cups of water to the liner of the Instant Pot. Place a steamer basket inside the liner and load it up with your veggies. Lock the lid in place, set the valve to sealing, and set the pressure cook button to 0 by using the “minus” button to decrease the time. The screen will display, “On.” The timer will beep to let you know when the process is complete. Once it beeps, move the valve back to venting. Make sure the float valve has fallen down. If it has, remove the lid and enjoy your freshly steamed veggies!

I was just surfing around looking at instant pot zucchini & squash vids & found your video. Wasn’t sure about how long to steam them for so I really appreciate it.
My only suggestion is come at your steam release from the left side (I have the same pot). I just always use my left hand for steam release, never have to worry about burns, as if you just use the little handle on the steam knob, your finger will be kept clear of the steam. Doing it the way you do, even with an oven mitt on is VERY risky & can still give you a nasty contact steam burn ❤️
