    When you get a chance you may want to take a couple minutes to reorder your playlist for the balmoral resizing videos.

    Beautiful shoes. While i don't have much interest in dress shoes, i do have interest in how shoes and boots are made. There is a market for hand made fitted heavy duty work boots. I recently ordered a pair from JK boots. There are a few Pacific Northwest boot makers and they all have lead times that goes from 3-4month to over a year. While i did order one that is an off the shelf size, JK has up to 5E. My feet are stupidly wide and if these don't fit, i'm going to get a custom boot made. I've even been researching on getting a custom last made just for my feet. I'm tired of poorly fitting shoes and boots, i end up wearing sizes too long just to fit my width. If i was able to i would go and check you out at the show, and I just subscribed to see what your future holds. Your shoes are beautiful and i hope you the best.

      Thank you for the kind words and sharing your experience. I definitely see the market in the US for work boots and I hope to dip my toes in those waters in the future too. After all, I don't always dress up in tailored clothing as is evident from this video. I love the craftsmanship of the PNW boots and even bought a pair from Nathan Florsheim, which I plan to make one or more videos about as the Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome goes on. Right now and probably for the foreseeable future, thought, my primary focus will be on dress shoes.

      @@altizer_shoemaker I am on Long Island. Not far from NYC so if you ever getting around to wanting to do a heavy duty work boot, let me know.

      @@altizer_shoemaker Hello again. I got my boots in and they were a no go. Arches were too aggressive for me. even felt a pop in my right foot and still hurts a couple days later. Also needed to go wider, i need like a 7E boot. They said they could make a boot for me but since the arch would be a custom modification, there would be no returns if they don't work out. Plus it's a 26 week lead time. I know your concentrating on dress shoes, but would you know of anyone who would do a custom heavy duty work boot in the NYC area?

    • @altizer_shoemaker
      @altizer_shoemaker  9 месяцев назад

      @@d3faulted2 that’s a tough one. I’m sure Francis Waplinger could fix your fit issues but he generally doesn’t do heavy duty boots like the PNW makers. Might be worth asking, though, because his construction methods are certainly heavy duty, just with thinner dressier leathers. There’s also Vogel also might be able to help. Not in NYC but somewhat close is Marcell Mrsan who I’m sure would know how to help you but I don’t know what types of jobs he’s taking on right now since a lot of his business is consulting. It would probably be quickest and best for your feet to just go to an orthopedic maker based on what you described. Moulded Shoe does that and also Oliver Moore, but I’m not sure if the construction method would be as strong as a PNW boot.

      All over the place. Is there a particular tool that you're looking for? In general, I suggest the cordwaining subreddit: www.reddit.com/r/Cordwaining/comments/ypyoml/please_share_your_favorite_shoemaking_resources/
