I like your work! Much success to you and your endeavors.
Thank you, Donald!
Thx for the post project review to help others understand the initial issues.
I think your work is inspired by the RUclips channel Siroeno Yosui, good job
Nice job, please can you share the link to where you get your leather and crafting tools. Thank you
All over the place. Is there a particular tool that you're looking for? In general, I suggest the cordwaining subreddit: www.reddit.com/r/Cordwaining/comments/ypyoml/please_share_your_favorite_shoemaking_resources/
Nice, Drew. Are you gonna shoot something while in Japan?
I will try to get some footage, but probably nothing spectacular.
Stay with it.
Thanks Antonio!
This is a sharp looking boot .
Amen, Drew. Two 👍 👍's up. It's great to see the shoe cobblers opening up new shops in America 🇺🇸 👌. I will be following.
You have very nice taste and style for someone so young. Will you redo the misaligned stitching? cos everything else is perfect except the tongue. Great colour choice, they're like Gucci loafers, except better quality.
Hi
Congrats!!! 🎩
Thanks! I believe we met at the Super Trunk Show. If that's right, thanks for visiting my stand!
No arch suports on loafers?
Not sure I understand the question.
Dude. You are the loafer master. I've watched a few videos of handmade loafers and none compare.
Thank you! I hope to live up to this title!
I'm glad this video popped up. I just started myself. I would love to be able to work from home someday, doing something I love. I'm an electrician currently 😆
Glad you found it! Hopefully my videos can be of some help.
Belle scarpe! 😘👌🏻 Ti auguro buona fortuna e congratulazioni per il tuo coraggio. Bravissimo!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🍾
Grazie!
So glad to find your channel at a time where I’m getting into shoemaking. Great video!
I’m in my mid 20s and I have recently gone into a rabbit hole of dress shoes (since I have finally secured a big career advancement and I want to dress my best). I Just found this video and I’m very interested on helping out another young person like myself fulfill their dreams! Im commenting so that the RUclips algorithm blesses you! I’m also interested in supporting by purchasing some shoes from your brand! That fiddleback waist is crazy and that semi brogue overall is amazing! My first show from you will be a semi brogue in that beautiful Sedona color way. I’ll give you a follow on IG and reach out to you to purchase some shoes. I wish you the best!
congrats on taking the plunge! those oxfords are fantastic! I remember watching your videos about resizing your boots using a hand welt and it was really cool. So cool that you are able to make your dreams a reality!
Thank you for the kind words and for watching since those videos!
Good luck! Just remember to try to post once a week, social media is such a good way to promote your small business, you just gotta stay consistent
Thank you for the kind words and advice! 1 video/week is ambitious but I do think you’re right.
good luck!!
Thank you!
Beautiful shoes my friend. Good luck with your venture!
Thank you!
Beautiful shoes. While i don't have much interest in dress shoes, i do have interest in how shoes and boots are made. There is a market for hand made fitted heavy duty work boots. I recently ordered a pair from JK boots. There are a few Pacific Northwest boot makers and they all have lead times that goes from 3-4month to over a year. While i did order one that is an off the shelf size, JK has up to 5E. My feet are stupidly wide and if these don't fit, i'm going to get a custom boot made. I've even been researching on getting a custom last made just for my feet. I'm tired of poorly fitting shoes and boots, i end up wearing sizes too long just to fit my width. If i was able to i would go and check you out at the show, and I just subscribed to see what your future holds. Your shoes are beautiful and i hope you the best.
Thank you for the kind words and sharing your experience. I definitely see the market in the US for work boots and I hope to dip my toes in those waters in the future too. After all, I don't always dress up in tailored clothing as is evident from this video. I love the craftsmanship of the PNW boots and even bought a pair from Nathan Florsheim, which I plan to make one or more videos about as the Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome goes on. Right now and probably for the foreseeable future, thought, my primary focus will be on dress shoes.
@@altizer_shoemaker I am on Long Island. Not far from NYC so if you ever getting around to wanting to do a heavy duty work boot, let me know.
@@altizer_shoemaker Hello again. I got my boots in and they were a no go. Arches were too aggressive for me. even felt a pop in my right foot and still hurts a couple days later. Also needed to go wider, i need like a 7E boot. They said they could make a boot for me but since the arch would be a custom modification, there would be no returns if they don't work out. Plus it's a 26 week lead time. I know your concentrating on dress shoes, but would you know of anyone who would do a custom heavy duty work boot in the NYC area?
@@d3faulted2 that’s a tough one. I’m sure Francis Waplinger could fix your fit issues but he generally doesn’t do heavy duty boots like the PNW makers. Might be worth asking, though, because his construction methods are certainly heavy duty, just with thinner dressier leathers. There’s also Vogel also might be able to help. Not in NYC but somewhat close is Marcell Mrsan who I’m sure would know how to help you but I don’t know what types of jobs he’s taking on right now since a lot of his business is consulting. It would probably be quickest and best for your feet to just go to an orthopedic maker based on what you described. Moulded Shoe does that and also Oliver Moore, but I’m not sure if the construction method would be as strong as a PNW boot.
That deerskin goes HARD 🔥😮💨
Two tone looking ready for Mr. Rogers 👌🏼
Very nice! Look forward to meeting you there!
Likewise, David!
Awesome!!! Maybe you can do a video explaining the lasts next time! 😊
Good idea! I’ll probably do that once my RTW lasts are finalized and delivered. I’m still deciding on a few details.
This is awesome. Congratulations.
Thanks, Dennis!
@@altizer_shoemaker you're welcome.
Congratulations! I wish you well. Beautiful shoes.
Thank you!
When you get a chance you may want to take a couple minutes to reorder your playlist for the balmoral resizing videos.
Thanks for the heads up! Just fixed it!
You can do it Drew, I have faith in you.
Thanks, Steve! Your example has been an invaluable inspiration to me!
nice work :) because you asked: yes, the hirschkleber or paste is what traditionally would be used on the toepuff if that is what you meant. Typically also between the toepuff and lining. If you refered to cementing the paper strip, i normally used rubber cement for that, because i was taught that the skived edge of the toepuff should stay clean of paste so it remains soft and a bit flexible. Also (if you allow me another tip) when lasting you don't have to drive the nails that far into the last. When you feel the nail hitting the last one or two more punches should do the job, because the row of nails is still strong enough. That preserves the lasts and makes removing the nails easier during welting.
Wow thanks for the tips Klaus! Can’t wait to make some more shoes and videos in the coming months!
Bravo!
Ты вообще работать не умеешь..... Ещё и показываешкому то. Ты даже инструментом пользоваться не у ееш
👍🔥
Lovely material. Perfect for Sunday off. Keep it coming! Fantastic pair, my man.
Thanks, Brunon!
nice nice nice, this somewhat shows me that what i had been planning on my head is possible, no machines, all by hand shoe making. Just a hell of a lot of time. Very nice!
That's was my thought's also, no sanding machines used, everything 100% hand skivvied, or skived? No wonder the poor man has sore wrist/hands..
you've come a long way,
Thanks, Steve! I've had some great teachers! Been enjoying watching the shoemaking you've been doing as of late!
I think Bedo is super cool of a guy. I've been watching his vids for hours back in a day. Great that you know each other. This technique is very hard to execute. My first ever attempt was with that navy blue fitting pair for Andre Simha and I wasn't happy at all with the result. I admire your ambition to even try that stitching. Listener to The Stitchdown Shoecast too!
I hope you understand now, that knife wasn't sharp enough, brother. My fave "In bloom" in the background, haha. Off today, enjoying looking at other people's shoemaking. Great pair, my friend!
I'm flattered that you chose to watch one of my videos in your free time! Thanks for the support!
Very cool, atmospheric material. Great storytelling, too. Love it!
Thanks, Brunon!
Superb documentary!

@@altizer_shoemaker thank you so much i will ask for some links of tools, if you don't mind
Very beautyful ....
5:30 Why no 360° welt?
Just a sleeker look than a 360. You don’t need the welt in the back because the sole stays put on the heel due to all the nails back there.
Did this guy just fall out of bed and begin destroying a pair of nice Chuckas...!!!
😂 basically
Excellent presentation
You watch potter and sons they are good guys to get information on cobbler techniques so you could grow your own I think you're doing a great job so far

Mistakes??? Very nice craftsmanship! As you mentioned the stich length could be slightly shorter, but a well done resole!!! How did the reshape suit the end user?
Thank you! The end user is me and they fit great!
