- Yefim Bronfman delivers a stellar performance of the Rach 3 accompanied by the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and Lahav Shani. Recorded 12th September 2021.
Movements:
1. Allegro ma non tanto (00:32)
2. Intermezzo: Adagio (17:12)
3. Finale: Alla breve (27:48)
Stick around for the standing ovation and the encores: Chopin's Nocturne no. 8 (44:26) and a delightful quatre mains rendition of Brahms' Hungarian Dance no. 5 (51:26)
Bronfman is the master of Rach3. noone plays this concerto better. Bronfman is born to play this concerto.
El verdadero maestro de este concierto se llama "Arcadi Volodos"

Absolutely magnificent Mr Bronfman!!! Better than anyone else!!!
Ossia Cadenza starts at 10:49.
БРАВО пианист Бронфман!
Браво оркестр и дирижор!
БРАВО композитор Рахманинов!
Спасибо.
Bravo!!So deeply moved..When I was young,I loved his performance It makes me happy, that he still plays wonderfully, with a clear touch as a masterpianist.
The way that world class violinist behind him just watches in AWE as he plays the cadenza.
Still so sharp ! I had the chance to shake his hand one day! It would be a dream to spend an afternoon talking to him and listening from him.
There are so many great versions of this great work available on RUclips, it's an 'embarrassment of riches' for the Rach 3 nutter! I have to say, though, that Bronfman brings something extra to the work ... like he was MEANT to play it!
Same with his prok 2. I've never heard anyone kick out the mv.1 cadenza so unbelievablely full of what strikes me as rage. Transcendental shit indeed.
dnltz, I am immensely grateful to have shared this wonderful concert with the great Yefim Bronfman!
Bronfman's Rach 3. Personal second favorite version of the piece. Absolutely love this.
What is your favorite?

Epic performance by Yefim Bronfman and Lahav Shani .
Outstanding performance, greatest nowadays pianist.
Such a beautiful and fabulous performance! The talent, strength, and stamina leaves me speechless.
Exceptionally good as I have come to expect from him!
I'll put him on the Yes list for the cadenza :) Seems like only yesterday he was young, so how old must I be!
Bravo Fima. This performance makes my day and so proud to be member of the tribe ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Stella performance indeed. From the pianist and orchestra. Enjoyed it.
Stellar, unless you're from Brooklyn.
@@spinedoc18 I am from SEAsia. What's with Brooklyn?
outstanding, breathtaking, beautiful - gives the sense of life a reason!
Amazing! And all the musicians socially distanced!
Superb!!!
Wonderful !
БРАВО!
BRAVO 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Bronfman and the Rotterdam Phil are such an ideal match tonally!

Still the BEST!
БРАВО пианист Бронфман!
Breathtaken, what a performer, the Russian school always the best.
Sounds like a flub in the run at 27:44 going into the 3rd movement?
who cares bro
Браво Бронсман !

There’s a RUclips clip of him as a rather dashing young man in a master class where the master (forgotten who it was) suggests he should try to stop pounding so much. Guess he didn’t like the advice.
On an unrelated note, why is it that in every performance of this concerto I’ve watched there is a breakdown of ensemble at 41:15. Is it so hard for the conductor to find out in rehearsal how fast the pianist intends the accelerando to go?
Well, they also said that to a certain Sergei Prokofiev, maybe you've heard of him...
This is precisely the exact opposite of "pounding."
You have a link to this masterclass?
who is lahav shani ? - omg what a disaster ... apparently he never heard the registration with rach himself ... what a pitty ... poor bronfman ... o m g
( have a look at the violinist behind him - lol - and you ll see clearly whats happening ... if you actually should not be able to HEAR it ... ... )
