      Are there plans to make a 1.25 pound micro adjustment plate and/or a stand to hold the dumbbells?

      @@time.4174 Stand yes. The 2.5lb adder weights give you increments like 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, 20... but yes, great idea to add the 1.25lb micro adjustments if people want 11.25, etc.

      @@REPfitnessThanks that’s what I was thinking. A 1.25lb micro plate option would allow users to progress more slowly and methodically since sometimes a 2.5lb increase is too much when we’re nearing the top end of what we can push.

      I think I'd rather see a 50-100 pair option to match rather than making it a single dumbbell.

      @@time.4174 i had to look it up. i thought the 'plates' could be added as much as you wanted but they say only up to 60lbs. not sure why you can't just keep adding more until it's either too big or too heavy

    Never dropped a DB or barbell in my 60-year old life, but the point is glaring. The REP Fitness engineering here is SUPERB, but my my fellows, you're giving this geezer heart pains!

      I never did either, until I did. Stuff happens, especially when you are pushing your limits. Thankfully my Powerblocks handled it just fine, as they did here as well until they were higher than anybody is realistically going to drop them from. Would not recommend it though.

      I agree, Zaine. I'm 67, and was taught back in the 70's that if you can't hang on through the whole movement, you've got too much weight on (except for Olympic lifts). Barbells, plates and even fixed dumbbells can break with enough abuse.

    Great drop test guys! The Nuobell doesn't surprise me lol. The quick draw looks like a winner! I'm interested to see the heavier set 🤔

      Nuobell is absolute junk. Even if you don't drop them they will fail eventually because they use tiny plastic cam followers to move the rods in and out. And when they do inevitably fail you can't fix them, you have to buy a whole new handle. Ridiculous for something that expensive.

    Wow nice. Wish this existed when I was in the market for one so I could get it along with a lot of other Rep equipment - but maybe I'll get this in the future. Been happy with my 90pro powerblocks so at least I didn't choose wrong back then :D

    might have to sell my current adjustables to make room for these. Please consider adding a quickdraw specific waist high storage rack in addition to the cradle to the lineup as well for bent over work. oh yea...white color numbering on the cradle would be nice too. good job on these REP...I like these a lot! I'm going to wait and hope for a 5lb->100+lb version hopefully with the same or better durability which will be hard when adding more weight/length.

    Great video. I have a pair of Nuobells. One of them failed after less than a year without dropping - just regular wear and tear. Their warranty replacement is terrible... they will definitely be replaced by the Quickdraw.

    Love my Rep equipment: PR4000, Colorado bar, lat pull down, AB-5000. THAT BEING SAID the best adjustable DBs are Ironmaster. Those will outlive me. These look pretty good though.

    Forget dropping them, I used to have a set of Bowflex 1090s that broke a retainer disc just from doing French Press and putting all that stress onto the disc. I'm surprised it lasted any sort of drop.

      Yeah they tend to do that. Nuobells will inevitably break during regular use as well because of their cheap plastic internals.

    I love Rep fitness but it looked to me that the power block was still working. No test was done to check if it still worked, only a plate popped off the lock.

      No, a plate was broken, they aren't supposed to flop around like that. Still did better than I expected though. Not made to be dropped but can still survive most all accidental drops.

    Did the powerblock pin break it just pop out? Anyways, people always say powerblocks are indestructible - they definitely are not - just durable enough for some low emergency bailouts

    Can I do deadlifts and squats without the brackets rubbing against my legs? I like to do them with the dumbbells as close to my legs as possible. Are these weight-balanced so that the brackets are always facing downwards, or can I turn the handle so the brackets can face outwards? Powerblocks have this problem.

      You're exactly right. 5lb all the way to 60lb at 2.5lb increments.

    Should try the iron masters. I've dropped them with the 165lb add on kit at about 18 or so inches easily

      Lol. We did a lot of drop testing in prototyping to ensure it is very durable. Having said that... we were still surprised about the roof.

    Too bad it only goes up to 60lbs. and the length of the dumbbell is already long enough. I can't imagine an 80 or 100+ lb pair.
