I loved seeing there are a lot of cousins in your family. I’ve never seen them before. Everyone had fun. Games and a second meal. I’m 80 but when I was young like you with teenage children (5) we all went to the Grandparents home. Seven grown aunts and uncles with their family. It was a houseful. Played cards and ate a second time. Even cleaning up and dishes was fun. I miss that. There were only 3 adults and one 7 year old this year. We are all scattered and the sense of family isn’t the same anymore. I loved seeing your gathering.

We are truly Thankful for you and Mike. Such a blessing watching the children help out and enjoying their family being together.
Stuffing is cooked inside the bird, and dressing is cooked outside the bird.

Stuffing is in the bird, and Dressing is in the pan baked. Use to just called it "stuffing."
Tip on cutting that chocolate torte. Dip the knife into a tall glass with hot water, wipe it dry, and cut. Do this after every slice. The hot blade will make it easier to cut cleanly.

Glad there was lots of food. It looked delicious as did all the pies. I was impressed that it all came together. Just shows us all, it doesn't matter how big the house is the important part is being togetherr and great fellowship and food.

We had 25 people in my mother in laws small house. It was a great holiday. I was so happy to have all my children, grand children, siblings and significant others together.
That reminded me of Christmases here in the UK back in the 60s. When the parents of that generation passed no-one seemed interested in carrying on these big gatherings - too much expense and hard work to organise especially when most people now work in full time jobs outside the home and have little spare time and energy to do all the prepping. It's a shame really.

In England it isn't called Dressing its just stuffing, Dressing is just the liquid we put on our salad for flavour.
Dressing is a cornbread base. Stuffing is a bread base.

When cutting things like the chocolate oreo tart you were cutting if you run the knife under very hot water it slides through the slice and doesn't stick :) This works well and to save running back and forth to the sink, fill a tall glass or cup with the very hot water and dip between slices as required xox

The candlelight ending with the family really brought me back to my own childhood.
We have always loved gathering around to watch your videos, but it has been super fun to watch these recent back to back ones esp more "IN TIME" around Thanksgiving. First off, you and Mike are too cute. Love Mike's glasses at the end. We (me and my little boys) got a kick out of Mike not seeing the slice of chocolate tart, we watched that part a few times over. I have 5 boys, oldest is 8.5 and though I love our time now, I long for the day when we can all sit around at the end of the night and talk/read stories. So happy to see your day ending like that, and with the candles. So lovely.
