I got some grief for saying he's one of the best drummers out there recently. I still stand by my statement. His economy of motion, consistency of hit velocity, power, and originality is legendary. Not only that, his work ethic is incredible. Having been a drummer myself for over 30 years and watching thousands of drummers, he's the real deal.
I totally agree. He's absolutely amazing, hes become one of my all time favorites. I love the way he plays and his ability to make a simple kit sound huge and his drum fills are just insane.
His work ethic is up there with the greats and if he keeps up the insane dedication and commitment to learning, then we'll be seeing more of him in a grander scale.
He doesn't have the exposure from bands he's been in that people would argue makes other drummers better, but I guarantee that he can play anything that anyone else can play. What makes him insane is that hes making it look easy. Endless headroom.
100%. Anyone who actually plays drums (and has heard of him) knows this dude is an absolute legend. I'm not too concerned with other folks' opinion on the matter lol.
He’s the best drummer bar none right now. His talent is absolutely unmatched. He makes it look so easy. The most powerful and CRISP sound without exerting a lot of force at all! He’s ALIEN! Omg.

His quality of sound is excellent. The consistency of his stick heights, placement on the drums/cymbals and power applied to each stroke is amazing. Not to mention the speed he achieves with consistency.... wow.
I'd say this is about 75-80% faithfully, but he always plays the the faithful version and adds his own extra fills, blast beats, speed ups, and flairs. He throws mad seasoning on top of the OG drum tracks. 🥁
For me, one needs not cover a drum track verbatim if they add tasteful complexity to the original without omission. In this case, he did an outstanding job by ingeniously including fills to account for SLIPKNOT’s extra percussionists ... something not many (if any) drummers have done in the past. I have El Estepario Siberiano to thank for my current intro into the world of metal. Thanks for introducing me to Slipknot!!!! Took 43 years, but I now love metal.
For me, you can tell that El Estepario is carrying on the spirit of drummers like Joey Jordison. Much like El Esterpario, Joey's style and musicality wasn't for everyone. However, both Siberiano on Joey brought groove and elegance with min blowing power--all without sacrificing integrity. Rock on, Siberiano. RiP, Joey.
Showing off = making it a bit more challenging for him to play.. cause slipknot vanilla is not difficult enough when you're at his level. :) respecfully intended
On one of the Estepario's videos he explains why he adopted the different fulcrum. It's just because he gets less tired with this grip of the drumstick. I guess he switches it to be able to play more and more hours. Practice makes perfection so they say... Thanks for your great videos. Keep it up man!
Anyone who says he's overplaying doesn't get the point of the video... Or is just plain jealous. Don't have to be Einstein to see he's trying to be over the top and exciting. Not do a note for note cover
I'm glad EES has become successful enough to really increase his production quality, but I will admit I kinda miss the intimacy of his older videos. Just a dude in his room absolutely shredding a three-piece. Defines 'badass'.
Love your reaction and level headedness this guy has made me contemplate quitting knowing how much work he puts in one video shows his entire day he literally wakes up gets on the kit eats sleeps and plays drums who else has the kind of dedication not me honestly I like too many other things in life but I respect this guy alot

You asked about what percentage of el estepario siberiano's playing is correct to the original Joey Jordison recording. If you were to put him side-by-side with a recording of Joey - obviously it could not be identical. However, what el Estepario Siberiano nails is all the signature fills, licks and back beats to a point that you can tell - not only has he listened to the original track many times, but he has mastered playing it 100% to a point where now he has tons of headroom and can just have fun with it. As a fan of Joey Jordison listening to his cover, he is 100% spot on with all the signature parts you're listening for yet at the same time it is completely unique. To try and quantify it he probably hit 85-90% of the original notes, but he also adds a lot more than what Joey plays too.
