Me too, met them at kupd. Radio station b 4 thé 1st concert. Kinda short fellas. 2 good concerts at ASU. Stadium. Back when thé music mattered. Now its. A total mess of. ........................b.s.
Bono Really sang it out that night - This was a killer version of Bad. I was lucky - I was running a follow spot directly over Edge for two nights they played, plus nearly 4 days of rehearsalsfor filming Rattle & Hum
Thanks for uploading! I was fortunate to be at this very show (12/20/87). Not sure most people know this but U2 sold all of the tickets for these two shows in Tempe at $5 each because they were making a movie and that's what it cost to get into a movie. This was easily the best concert I've ever attended.
I saw them at Wembley stadium on the night Mr macfisto decided to call Salman Rushdie as he appeared on stage. For those who don't know, he was the most wanted man in the world at the time history was made that night
My first U2 concert was at the LA Coliseum in November 1987. I was 14 years old and my mom wouldn't let me go by myself so she came with me. OMG what a show! Tickets were $19.50 each which I think with the Ticketmaster surcharge came to a whopping $25 each. Those were the days! The memories will live on forever!
@@dariodonati1799 Yes, Rattle & Hum is better. But not by much. I just saw this for the first time and Bono and the rest just continue to amaze me. That man is singing his HEART OUT. The jam Edge and the band do ... I could listen to that for God knows how long. It never gets old!
Holy Shit, I don't have the words to explain how perfect this is....so god damn good...Love this version. I'm 13 again. Kids today, good luck with Kanye ...
I mean, I'm 49. Saw the Joshua Tree Tour. Saw Zoo TV and all of them since. But I've taken my kids to see Billie. I've taken them to see Lorde, and Lord Huron. They'll Be different, but they'll be okay.
It's simple really: you can't stand Bono? Then go out and sing like that, have thousands sing with you: here's the microphone. Wring emotion with your guitar like the Edge? Here's your guitar pick. Hold the line like Adam? here's your bass. Drum with passion like Larry? Here are your drumsticks. Oh, and lastly: At a small club in Dallas, TX on a ' Wet T-Shirt Night' a band was playing there that night, That band was U2
Thanks for sharing, brought back so many memories a young irish lad coming to america i just saw U2 play Croke Park before i left, by sept i was in colorado a friend of a friend was going to arizona asked me to go along with them, that night standing in sun devil stadium i felt so proud to be irish, this band , rocks hottest ticket u2 came from our small country . ps i was there both nights still have the t shirt, i am back home now after spending 12 years stateside but i 'll never forget those 2 nights in tempe
3 wide awakes. Very rare indeed. I was lucky to see them do 3 myself, truly phenomenal. I’d really hoped they’d release copies of these 2 shows for the 30th anniversary in some sort of box set. Maybe we’ll get lucky, they’ll pull a Radiohead and start releasing full concerts on their RUclips channel
To some people, they still are. I am talking the 40+ crowd. Young people don't get the wisdom we have. And can't. Not their fault. They just can't understand. No one really does until you hit 40-45 years old. All love. God bless.
Their four legs to a table. I always loved how Edeg Bono Larry Adam were equally important to love to hear like no other bands ever.. Most bands, it's the Singer or Singer and guitar sometimes. U2 had the magic of me wanting to hear all four and see all four at the same time in every song. I could actually watch a whole concert of each memeber play individually with a planted cameraman, that's how good they are! I'd start off with a camera just watching Larry hit all those beats per minute for 3hrs like no other drummer I know.. His sticks always appear to be so fast, you see 4-8 motion blurs of hands forearms and drum sticks at any given time!! Who does that?!!! Other bands can't match the number of songs you wanna hear like this band did. #over200greatsongs!
30 plus years later and the song still gives me goose bumps no matter how many times I hear it. Hey Bono you guys did go commercial which I remember this erra Bono saying they never would, youth what a beautiful time in our lives,
U2 at their absolute best. 1st time watching this footage. Fell in love with the band all over again...just like I did a month ago seeing them live in Cleveland.
I'll never forget going to see U2 and they get to this song and of course it was there last . The audience went nuts singing first with I'm not sleeping right into I still haven't found what I'm looking for here in Boston MA at our little house called The Paradise Lounge . I love playing there I really like the room. They took written questions they started here in Boston MA we love em ! ❤ I forgot it was in the 80's ..during there first American tour. 🙃
Yeah, love how they gave Adam alotta camera on this one and alotta good camera anlge moves and band appearing to give a differnt stage presence and pulling it off naturally at the same time, making you wonder was it planned the way they all moved with the cameras or did it just all fall in place magically like the music?? I plead guilty! I forgot all about U2. They were one of my favorites and for the last 10 years I was sleeping. But I’m wide awake and rediscovering one of the greatest bands in history.

Christmas baby please come home performed & even jingle bells as well
I had always wanted to hear this song (and "I still haven't found") live. Went to a few concerts in the 90's during the Zoo TV and Popmart tours, but they wouldn't play them. It's a shame, U-2 are at a different level when they embrace emotional seriousness.
Was originally gonna be a straight up concert movie called "U2 Live in the desert". got changed along the way, but in the row in front of us were MTV winners of a contest who were flown to Phoenix and had red sweatshirts with that logo. Boy, if they still have those, be quite a collectors item.
Man. This is a rougher Bad than the Rattle & Hum version, but more heartfelt. And more cinematic. That run with the flag. Does anyone know where this footage is coming from? Is there a DVD with out-takes? Or is someone uploading this from a secret vault somewhere? This whole Tempe concert needs to be remastered and released. Surely, this has to be a stop on the virtual road?
Hey just noticed your channel name...when hip hop drove the big cars, in a time when the media was the big idea. Communication is the big idea, talk to each other!
“You know I’m pleased to meet you I hope you guess my name” Seeing U2 in concert performing “BAD” is something you won’t forget !!!!
BEAUTIFUL SONG BAD 🖤🤘🖤🤘🖤🤘🖤🤘

Oh my goodness.. I've only seen this in black and white... I'm genuinely in tears wow... thank you xx
This is my Funeral song

No social media no smartphone no new technology, only cassette, vinyl and real beautiful music!
I was there at that $5 concert 12/19 & 20/87 that was the best concert in my lifetime! I'll never forget it. Great memories. 🌵
Elana Crooker Me too. This video gives me chills up my back. They were definitely at there prime. I miss concerts at ASU like this.
My best friend and I were there too, and I agree with you. This was the best concert in my lifetime. It was more than a concert; it was an experience.
Good for you. Jealous. Can't imagine.
Over 30+ years.. still the best concert I have seen. I wish they would release the full concert
I saw them perform this during the Elevation tour, and I am not ashamed to say it brought me to tears.
It would of done the same to me. I love this song. You are so lucky to be part of that.
It is definitely a song that can do that.
I saw them perform this during the Elevation tour as well. It was in Chicago.
I stumbled upon this and it brought tears to my eyes. Lots of 80s memories flooding back ❤

I dunno. The Denver version was pretty good. Bono’s vocal gives out a couple of times in the oooo hooos.
Olá eu amo muuuuuuuuito suas músicas...principalmente o Show em Paris no .ano de ...2015.gostaria de ouvir .Grande beijos.
Denver's version is better concerning Bono's vocals

Autoplay brought me here, and I'm grateful. Rock on.
Saw them in '87 and it was almost spiritual. U2 was U2 then. Incredible.
I was spiritual!

Absolutely fantastic version.
No one plays the guitar like the Edge and no one sings like Bono. Loved you guys since 82.
