"Mama-mamá you dont wait, Mama-mamá claim my name, Mama-mamá meet someday, Mama-mamá claim that day, Mama-mamá spare that day, Mama-mamá support that day, No matter what they say, Mama-mamá lift me up to the valley beneath my cuff, Mama-mamá lift me up, but the ground wont give me up, Mama-mamá claim my name, Mama-mamá spare that day, Mama-mamá you look so sad, Mama-mamá I will live for you I say, I will run and not get tired, I will run and not grow tired- with these wings like eagles, I will surely not go easy"
I’m not sure this is their best song in my option it is “one” because in mother of the disappeared their is only a couple of lines and bono doesn’t flex his voice like he does in all of his hit songs.
Unbelievable. Amazing how Bono was so touched by the horrendous stories of the poor families involved. Crazy to think U2 were in their 20’s and writing this amazing haunting music. Peace to everyone 🕊
Really haunting to see the video by Anton Corbijn with the 2017 tour. Will live in my memory as it will be a shaky video electronic memory for most people.
Não sei o que seria da mim, sem a perfeição do Bono, the Edge, Larry Mullen Jr. , E Adam Clayton. 40 anos ouvindo U2 e cada minuto que passa sempre gosto mais
I was lucky enough to be at the show in 2017 when they brought Eddie Vedder(link below) on stage in Seattle to sing this song. It was incredible. Surreal moment... However, ever since the incredible soliloquy given by Eddie Vedder (link below) before his brilliant acoustic cover of In God’s Country last year when he was speaking of his experience at this exact show in Arizona and how he got tickets for $5, the 2017 performance goes to another level. He spoke about how incredibly powerful it was. So knowing a young pre-fame Eddie Vedder is in this audience experiencing this live and it having such an incredible impact on his career and life exponentially elevates what was already one of my favorite U2 performances. ruclips.net/video/Az9ZeJl8nHQ/видео.html&pp=ygUiTW90aGVycyBvZiB0aGUgZGlzYXBwZWFyZWQgU2VhdHRsZQ%3D%3D ruclips.net/video/Na0E5MF-VmA/видео.html&pp=ygUdaW4gZ29kJ3MgY291bnRyeSBlZGRpZSB2ZWRkZXI%3D
In the trees our sons stand naked
Through the walls our daughters cry
See their tears in the rainfall
THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE R&H MOVIE TO CLOSE IT. SO HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL.
This and One Tree Hill for sure.
@@theabcjugband5784I HAVE OVER 7HRS OF UNSEEN R&H FOOTAGE MYSELF.

hugely powerful and moving performance of their best song. why oh why does this have so few views? and they were in their 20s...extraordinary

Because it's not that popular.
Definitely one of their most beautiful songs.

Was this a Drowning Man snippet as well?.
The song comes out of the lynchings, and the rape of the women and girls. And the sound of their tears in the rain.
Hear their tears?😢
A problem in many countries, my birth country as well and with new fascist dictatorship in America soon my adopted country. :(
C'était au temps où ils faisaient de la qualité et pas de la pop merdique comme maintenant.
