Hey, how did you quit smoking cigarettes, my friends in college smoke it and I can't resist it when I'm with em.
1) Environment matters. Your peers influence your actions a lot. Trust me, it will be impossible to stop when you're surrounded by smokers.
2) Emotionally charge the act of smoking in a negative way. Just really focus on how disgusting it makes you feel, and make that larger than the 2 moments of pleasure it gives you.
3) Believe that it's ONLY bad; destroy the belief that it will bring you fleeting pleasure and/or give you relief
4) After I believed how terrible it was and turned myself to only hate it, I stopped smoking AND vaping. But I was still addicted to nicotine and that alone caused me to relapse in the past, so...
5) Replace with a different habit. I suppose I have oral fixation, and that was one of the things that kept me doing it, so I replaced it with nicotine gum, then after a few days added normal gum, and now I'm completely fine :D
