    Joining the marines in 2000-2009 was a crazy time to join the marines. You just know your getting sent to a combat zone. RIP to the fallen soldiers that served during those years.

      I prayed for war in 97. I do not feel disgusted that I got it. I do feel disgusted that are people died. I tried my best. Shooting the enemy didn't feel as good as I thought it would. Long shots that took felt good and satisfying but it was never enough. Im 43 and have three children fighting age. Two girls and its uncanny to me that they could become infantry like their father. I do not pray for war these days. I'm terrified for them. I'll die today for my country regardless if its mission was not for freedom. I loved Iraq until I didn't. My children are not like me and I will send them to Canada before I let a politician send them to war. I love my strong American men and women. I'm truly proud when I see a small family tribe succeed. I love are American kids and I would die for any of them. Even comfortable warm wealth permanently and totally disabled in mind but not body. I want us so very badly to succeed. I killed for it I volunteered to do that. My kids didn't. I'm sorry I went off on a rant. Lost my point. I love my country and its eccentric. I feel the eyes upon me. Though you needed me to clear 50 fuc%ing houses a day in Ramadi and I have conflict. It was a privilege and I would of done it for free. Whats funny as I age the beautiful memories hurt the most. I miss the situations when were human. Young idealistic aggressive obedient men falling down a hill on Pendleton was the best. It was a privilege to have such men in my life. At times I did not give my all but most times I gave more then I had. That was not rare among even the lackadaisical infantry Marines. Semper Fi

That’s why they call it “The Suck”. You have to embrace it, get through it, and look back on it fondly. When my son joined the Corps, I told him not to be infantry, but this was only because I wanted him to have a career when he got out. Grunts limit your career path, and I’m proof of that. Depending on your unit, you can get off from lets say 1100-1700 and even that can change. You won’t be able to get much done college wise but you still see some people with second jobs. I enlisted in 2010 and was able to deploy to Afghanistan and even a MEU so I got to do both type of deployments. You don’t get to choose your deployments peacetime Marine or wartime. I know some Marines who have been in their whole career and never had a combat deployment. It sucks I know especially when you hear stories about it and want to put the training into real life action. But you deal with what cards are given. Hell I give it to you Peacetime Marines having to do a lot more in the rear and everything. Your still a grunt no matter where you deployed and still when through the suffrage of field ops and humps. 2/2 Warlords & 3/4 Marines were my units.

    • @TrelltheGreat
      @TrelltheGreat  4 года назад

      Mike r , It's cool being a black belt in all but some people don't actually earn it. Some people just buy it so they can wear it to look cool. I'm a black belt and the process to get it kinda sucks, that's why so many people just buy it instead. And another thing if you don't do anything to keep up with the things you learn, then you'll forget or loose some of it.
