Very nice. I just bought my first used Honda HS 80 and like the way it's built. I don't like the prices on Honda snowblowers but at least I have something to work with.
Nice machine, I chose the battery start also and you only have to give a light pull on the starter cord and that unit will bang right up everytime. can't wait for snow in Eastern Canada also.
You need to mount a Go Pro to that chute on first use! I have my fingers crossed for 12 inches of snow for you! Hell, I live in Texas and now I want one after watching your video!
Very nice machine! Since you bought it new, what did you do to keep it well maintained from the very beginning? I mean did you add grease somewhere, etc.? Thank you!
Thank you. I haven’t done anything yet to it. I will wash it at end of season with car wash / wax, oil change, fill tank up with star tron, and store it in garage. I’ve been doing this with all my snowblowers and for resale value this really helps
For the price of it, it should be both haha 😂😂. What you think of it? Saw you modded one of your ariens with the taller chute. Is the chute the same height I wonder as this?
This is my favorite snowblower. I don't see these come in the shop hardly. I always recommend to all my customers to use true fuel so your carb doesn't plug ever. It us honestly the best machine. All other brands I see alot of problems Chinese parts. Not honda.
Star Tron is ok. In Hondas it does work but with ariens Chinese engines it sucks. The Japanese made the jet in the carb bigger then the Chinese engines meaning less chance of clogging. If you ever want to know where a small gas engine came from. Just look up the serial number. 👍
In their residential lawn mowers is all I can see for now. At the dealership I work at when we tear down the honda snowblowers the guts are still metal. Residential lawn mowers went to plastic gears because the cost of parts now a days is crazy, and kawasaki in the old john deere lawn mowers also learned this same lesson. The Chinese just copy and paste when it comes to technology and engines. So far snowblowers have now been cheapened. Which is good news. 👍
Beautiful machine! Curious if you think the quality has suffered at all since the units are supposedly made in the USA? Saw one here on youtube that was around 4 years old and it looked beat to death. Love to hear your opinions on how it's how it's holding up etc...
So far so good but I’ve only had it for a year or so! Keep in mind, I’m meticulous with my power equipment and wash it a lot to remove any salt off. I only have 1.9 hrs on it so haven’t used it much. Biggest storm was 12” of slush and worked fine. No issues in bogging unless it’s like 1/2” or less- where there’s not much intake of snow inside the auger. So far I’m happy with it. I’ll let you know if quality is down 💩 after a few seasons. For the price, let’s hope not!
@@appleztooranges Years ago I was having trouble with slush. It seemed that no matter how slow I went the machine didn't have enough power. I got frustrated, put it into high gear and headed back to the garage. The engine revved up and started throwing snow. I hadn't been feeding enough slush in to put a load on the machine for the governor to engage and get the engine revving higher. Sometimes its a matter of not enough load, sometimes too much. I have an old 928 ATD. Its hard to turn, keeps on going through the snow, is easy to maintain and doesn't seem to wear out. The main problem I have is not enough snow to satisfy my snow blowing desires ;-).
Dude you got rid of your tracked machine because you had no justifiable reason for it and then you buy this beast haha 🤣. But hey, I bought a 928 last week because I had the Honda fever too! Thanks so much for your reviews! I saw precipitation in the forecast for this weekend- I was excited until I realized it was going to be 50 degrees! Slush throwing time!
Thank you. If you have any questions let me know. Tried to go over everything in this video. Having owned 4 Honda snowblowers (different years) I can say this is definitely the easiest to turn.
@@appleztooranges Thanks. I really appreciated your video's. Lots of info out there but having your comparison was great. I do believe I will be going for the tracked 928 due to budget. I will probably wait till spring and see what is left over or netx fall. I am an industrial mechanic and work on all my own stuff. I like and have rebuilt countless ariens snow blowers. The pro models are very good, but having repaired so many I also know all the parts that ware-out. The first time I worked on an older 1132 honda I was amazed at how well it was made.
@@appleztooranges the first thing you are going to hate about this blower, is the blowback from the chute. This was an issue on my last Honda, but it's even worse now. When chute is all the way to the right side, it blows snow back at you. Why Honda doesn't fix this with each model is beyond me. It is almost a safety issue. There is a guy that makes a plastic piece to remedy it but it is not cheap for what it is .

Dude great vid! You seem super excited that's a wicked Honda blower you chose enjoy👍

It’s awesome. Did you get the 928 or this machine?
What boots are you wearing they look comfortable? I'm excited to see how it blows some snow.
Those are my wolverines. My parents got me them as a gift from tractor supply. Thanks for watching
Hope we get some snow soon. Looking forward to seeing this in action.
Hope we do. Been a weird winter. Really strange
In the mountains of california we just got over 5 feet in 6 days.

Nice. I would love to modernize my old 1132 with the hydraulic strut. And I like the double jointed chute.
Thanks. These additions are definitely amazing. I’m impressed so far. Got to see how it does in the snow
is the chute an electric motor?
@randomrazr yes

How far can this baby throw snow? That shute is amazing!
I know it’s almost taller than me lol. It says it can throw alittle further than my older 1332. Can’t wait to put it to the test!
