If you like what you're hearing, be sure to check out my channel, where you can find all of my A Song of Ice and Fire recorded chapters in order in playlists! And leave a comment! I don't care about any youtube algorithm reach nonsense but I love hearing from people who are listening!
I am in no sense a professional reader, voice actor, or what have you. I began this audiobook project some years ago when some friends of mine jokingly said they'd read A Song of Ice and Fire (my favorite fantasy series) if I personally recorded the whole series in audiobook form and sent it to them. Having now made my way almost through the first two books in the series, I decided to join the small community of people who post their own amateur audibook readings to youtube, and share my efforts.
I have no intention of profiting off of the work that is copyrighted to George RR Martin. This upload is a tribute to a series I deeply love, and I strongly encourage you to purchase these books. You won't regret it.
Also I should give full credit to my cat, Claudio, for the frequent background meows and purring sounds you hear throughout.

"Tyrek was last seen ahorse"
A legendary theory is born
U mean Glimbo the Gladuis theory? may the Glods gless him
Everyone is ahorse… who isn’t???
@@sosakeef3425 Wyman Manderly as he is too fat
Adam Marbrand also seemed happy to be a horse again
I mean, Lannisters are a first men house.
“She’s been fucking Lancel, Osmund Kettleback and MOON Boy for all I know!”
My man nails it each time he reads it. Really shows how these words cut Jaime just as deep as his confession regarding Tysha cut deep into Tyrion. I feel like ultimately the brothers just miss each other.
Needless to say, I enjoy your readings! 😊
I was so upset when tyrion lied about killing joff tho it seems to bother jamie more that cersei was cheating on him and not his dead son lmao
@@vanessasempireoftwigs198 lol he really couldn’t care less for them kiddos
Moon boy is sus
Tyrion had him stress out
@@vanessasempireoftwigs198 Why would anyone care if Joffrey is dead? Anyone with half a brain and any sense would see everyone else was far safer for it. The only reason Cersei is so torn up is she raised him to be a male copy of herself and that made him perfect in her eyes.
Reading Jaime’s early chapters in ASOS you probably couldn’t believe with less than a year he’d be hitting someone for calling Brienne a wench. Considering how Tyrion and Cersei are now spiraling further and further down it’s nice that one Lannister is becoming a better person.
I agree
Well, to be fair to Tyrion he TRIED being a good person, and was repaid with nothing but hatred and mockery. That society is clearly going to despise him no matter what he does, and sadly he's come to that conclusion himself.
This is why jaime is one of the absolute fucking goats. (Not like THE Goat, if you know what i mean.)
"She's been fooking osmond kettleback and lancel and moonboy" The accent is awesome and it makes me laugh.😘
It’s hilarious
I laugh every time, more than the time before 😂
laughing at it all over again right now lol
We appreciate you reading these for us
I wished Game of Thrones, Clash of Kings and A Storm of Swords all had Cersei and Jaime POV chapters. I just can't get enough of those two.
Same... I love their chapters. And the Martells
I rather enjoy the Tyrion chapters. I wonder if he would have had the same strength of character had he not been born stunted. At any rate, the imp is my favorite.
I think part of what makes Jaime’s arc so great is that he doesn’t have chapters in the first two books. At first we see him as an awful person who murders children and has no honor, and so when he finally had chapters, it’s great because it completely changes our perspective on him. Also, Brienne and Jaime losing his hand were the main factors in Jaime’s life that made him redefine himself. And then of course there’s the fact that Jaime does literally nothing in ACOK other than sit in a cell
@@jaimelannister1797 I agree 100%. Jaimes chapters in ASOS were one of the best parts. I did think that he was an awful person, and after the chapters, I saw him in a new light... and it was a light that I really liked.
I wish we could've get POVs from Robert, Robb, Tywin, Stannis and the Tyrells!
Jaime Goldenhand is my favourite arc. I remember how amazing it was reading about his gift of diplomacy on my first read through.
The boy was last seen...A HORSE!
We need a Moonboy POV to see if he slept with Cersei 😂 Imagine it was Moonboy found in Tywin's bed
It's really wholesome to see Jaime slapping the man for offending brienne.
It’s cute
He's the only one allowed to call her names.
Something about this chapter is strangely beautiful.
Jamie pimps slapping someone with his golden hand for Brienne
"She’s been fucking Lancel, Osmund Kettleback and /Moonboy/ for all I know!”
I love it! XD
You're also awesome David, thanks!
I like Old Bonnifer i think he is the knight who was mentioned to be infatuated with Rhealla, i hope we see more of him in Winds. I always like the idea that when he meets dany he will become one of Daenerys Quensguard.
I agree that Bonnifer and Rhaella were in love and I love that for his backstory. I also think Ser Bonnifer is just a really interesting morally complex character who can be both repulsive and admirable in his commitment to his faith.
@@DavidReadsASoIaF the only questionable thing he did i think was sending Pia away, although he has good reasons, she is a whore and he doesnt want his men to catch sickness or to be tempted by her. He still doesnt throw her out, he asks Jaime to take her with him and find her a new place to live. Thats less than some would do, but more than most.
I do love how he Says he would not torture the companions but instead forgive the Brave Companions pray with them and ask the Gods that they forgive them before he hangs them. Sins may be forgiven, crimes require pinishment. Thats kinda badass the way he says it so calmly.
He is a devoted man, but it doesnt seem like he is cruel or uses his faith to justify crimes. I like that he is harsh, but fair. He is calm, dutiful and isnt cruel. He could work well as a KG to Jon and Daenerys.
Also i think when he says that a sin can be forgiven but a crime must be punished is said directly to Jaime, yes Jaime can earn forgivness (something he is trying to acomplish in Feast). But his Crimes will still be punished and catch up to him( witch they do in dance, when he will meet Stonehaet).
@@oz4087 I don't think he will be killed by Stoneheart (Unless he fulfills Maggie the frogs prophecy and kills Cersei first)
Jaime humbling that connington dude by slapping him with his goldenhand is great.
😊 Shows how much him and brienne have evolved.
I know, I love that!
"You are speaking of a high-born lady, ser. Call her by her name. Call her Brienne."
Idc if Loras is a pillow biter, he’s still the superior fighter to Osmund Kettleback and has actual battle experience.
Yes, but Cersei doesn't want to have sex with him and thinks she's won Osmund''s undying loyalty with just her body.
I wonder if multiple people at harrenhall have gone mad bc there's mold in the walls or something
Sending Jaime on that quest was one of the few smart ideas Cersei had - it lead to the best chapters of aSoIaF.
48:34
AMUTHING
even in death, vargo makes me laugh
Poor Pia :( and then to have the old man say to Jaime that she should because she is “flaunting her parts at the boys”?…George really masters the art of making characters truly despicable
Your readings are awesomeness!
Thank you so very much!
I find it interesting to think about how reliable each perspective is. Jaime e.g. immediately tells us that Pia isn't pretty anymore and would describe Brienne mostly as ugly and Sansa as pretty. He is still very much caught up in rating women according to their fuckability and doesn't see much else. He is angry at Cersei for having sex with others, thinking he has some sort of claim on her, and compares Illyn Paine's Sword fighting with Brienne's, feeling humiliated that a woman is better than them but also finding comfort in the fact that Paine would easily lose against her too. There prolly thousands of freudian comparisons to his golden hand, and I wonder if martin ever planned on having him go from feeling emasculated to seeing it as a chance to say good bye to his toxic masculinity instilled by his father.
It is hinted at when Jaime is confronted with the misogynist attacks against Brienne, attacks that he used to join in and which he now despises.
Anyway. Thanks for coming to my ted talk, ain't it way more fun to analyse and interpret literature when it's not being graded.
I’d be pretty humiliated if I was the best at something(that’s physically challenging) and then got beat by a woman. I wouldn’t agree that is toxic masculinity. Also if your dating a woman, even if it’s ur sister, how could you not be pissed that she’s fucked someone else lmao. She’s his woman and he’s her man. The entire westorosi culture is built on toxic masculinity lol, and I agree with your other points.
Poor fool thought Cersei loved him.
Preston Jacobs has a really good and thoughtful analysis on Brienne and Westerosi gender politics.
@@jomckellan She loved the reflection of herself in him. You can see that in how quickly she discarded him as soon as his appearance and characteristics changed.
@@jessp8238 Err...
Jamie looks like he has an empty infinity gountlet
By far my favorite reader of asoiaf on RUclips. Very happy about no commercials. I have been listening to all the books from start to finish since I found this.
I forgot about Jamie's "Baelor Butthole" line. XD
so many gems in this chapter from tyrek was last seen ahorse and jaime slapping the shit out of connington with his golden hand
Moonboy, 😂…I don’t think if Tyrion believably said he fucked Cersei himself would hurt as much as Moonboy being named as one of her fuckers.
I just read a theory that Janos Slynt is the son of Shitmouth. Makes sense to me.
I know this comment is nearly one ear old now, but I can't help but to respond. That theory does not make any sense whatsoever. Janos Slynt was forty years old by the time he died and he's the son of a butcher in King's Landing. Shitmouth is probably around the same age, if not a bit older, and he was born in the Westernlands near Clegane's Keep.
@@DominionSorcerer the theory is just funny bunk
Love how you read ASOIAF, DAVID YOU ARE AWESOME!!!! My first audio reading and I hope you can read WOW. You are born for this, perfect
The prose of this novel is godly.
Hey boys its fooooking Jaime Lannister LOL
I see Jamie as one of the most tragic characters along with Sansa. For him it is so telling that he's in love with a monster. he lived against the laws of men and gods for a horrible person that he can truly barely live without
Yeah, I think some of the worst thing Jaime did was because of Cersei.
“These dornish men cannot be trusted” but in cersi’s last chapter she talk about making a dornish man master at arms in kings landing just to spite the tyrells😂🤣 Nd y’all call Damy the Mad Queen
“My Loard. You gave me a Quest.”
I think littlefinger has lil tyrek lannister he wants all the old lannisters dead and to become like a father to tyrek so he could be warden of the west and east
Maybe we should have atleast seen him with him not that many places for him to hide Tyrek and "groom" him
He was hiding Jayne Poole in a brothel he could do the same with tyrek just dress him in poor clothes and dye his hair
Or he's "a-horse"
My guess would be that Bonifer Hasty was put at HarrenHal so that he can give it to Aegon.
These so called lords, better stop playing with jamie...
so many gems in this chapter from tyrek was last seen a horse to jaime slapping the shit out of connington with his golden hand
laughing at the scene with Shiftmouth, "make up your mind.."

Nice Jaime.
I love the irony of bonifer hasty only a truly devout man could be s contradictory
So hyped for the return of RENNIFER LONGWATERS
Shitmouth is a legend
Was looking for this comment!
He doesn’t get enough credit.
"Shit no!"
Why does it always seem to be that I'm trying to eat my lunch when parts like 33:40-34:54 happen 💀

Salt of the earth Cersei, salt of the *uckin earth 😂😂😭😭🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
With Lancel in control of Derry and the holy hundred in charge of Haranhal , the faith are in strong position.

Funny I was just about to say that about illyn Payne, “maybe there’s hope for this weirdo”
Always makes me laugh when Strongboar takes the joke literally and gets into a discussion about genealogy with Ser Roger Hogg
11:26 Adam Marbrand = Tyrek Lannister confirmed?
Will Smith and Jaime Lannister’s parallel of slapping the sh!t out of someone for disrespecting and insulting the women they adore.
Gods I fucking love Jaime
Isnt he called Kettleblack? In german it is translated to „Schwarzkessel“ which means „Black Kettle“
35:09 Elizabeth Bathory vibes with that bathtub full of blood
I like jaime not at first but after his hand get cut off hes cool
34:25 Joffrey and Ramsay have nothing on Gregor. Its cool that they still call him "The Ser" though
oh jaime is so honorable
Gregor butchered hoat and fed his flesh to captives. And to hoat himself. Several times.
My fucking god 💀
I can't remember does jamie ever admit to himself that he and catelyn stark started the whole war they both were stupid and not thinking jamie attacked ned in the street and she arrested tyrion without concrete proof.....
Jaime does, but not over Ned outside the brothel. He wishes in a later chapter (or during ASOS) that he had never pushed Bran out the window. Jaime attacked Ned BECAUSE Cat arrested Tyrion. Tyrion is his favorite sibling, and he's very protective of his very little brother. Ultimately though, Jaime places the blame on the gods that brought Bran to the tower in the first place (Ie Goerge RR Martin calling himself out)
@@hermithefrog629 i like that you say that tyrion is his favourite sibling. On the one hand, sure, on the other hand, he sleeps with other sibling xD who do you like better, your best friend or your significant other?
Err, Varys and Littlefinger started the whole fiasco.
Your voice for Cersei is perfect... condescending, shrewish, and a bit whiny, the perfect voice for a woman with little more maturity than a spoiled adolescent.

And?
@@angelined9814 That was my digital "bookmark" for this chapter from months ago
normal laughing is done with the larynx and glottis and does not require a tongue. that part always makes me cringe.
You realise he is trying to re-enact what a man who's not got a tongue would sound like??
@@gholamdapantaloonsniffer8218 it's more about the fact, that martin wrote that he can't even laugh properly without a tongue, when infact, the tongue isn't needed for laughter.
