I am in no sense a professional reader, voice actor, or what have you. I began this audiobook project some years ago when some friends of mine jokingly said they'd read A Song of Ice and Fire (my favorite fantasy series) if I personally recorded the whole series in audiobook form and sent it to them. Having now made my way almost through the first two books in the series, I decided to join the small community of people who post their own amateur audibook readings to youtube, and share my efforts.
I have no intention of profiting off of the work that is copyrighted to George RR Martin. This upload is a tribute to a series I deeply love, and I strongly encourage you to purchase these books. You won't regret it.

Not only that but he suspects Jon was in cahoots with Tywin to get his spot as Lord Commander. If only he knew Jon almost deserted for love of Robb and turned down Stannis’ offer to become naturalized. Highborns smh. Constantly judging everyone but themselves. I’ll bet if Jon did desert back in AGoT Robb would have had his head when he got to Robb’s camp. “Rules are rules” type shit. Crazy

If GRRM wants you to like a character, one of his consistently winning methods is to have that character talk a lot of shit about the Freys. Many such cases!

I am always a bit conflicted about the freys in general, they are written (and shown in the series) as absolutely disgusting people. No redeeming quality just pure vileness. I always found it hard to understand how a great house, that has this extremely valuable seat, the only viable crossing for a great army, can produce such people...and only such. Yes there may be some freys that don't fit the bill but in general they seem to deserve all the ire they get.

Unlike a lot of other Houses they don't have thousands of years of history attached to them.
In short they are seen by the upper nobility/Great Houses as poor Upstarts.
2. It's also a combination of Jealousy with the fact that they wield more Wealth and soldiers than nearly any other house in the Riverlands plus their strong defensible Castle,and how the Red Wedding isn't even thier first sign of playing both sides of a conflict and going with the winners.
The Late Lord Frey comes from their armies being too Late to Arrive in Support of the Rebellion forces in Robert's War against the Targeyean Dynasty,and even before that the Freys ended up betraying the Blackfyre Supporters to Bloodraven during the Whitewalls Wedding/Reveal of Daemon Blackfyre II
This chapter had one of the greatest lines in the Series.
"I'd rather drink a pint of Piss than take the word of any Frey.
Man Edmure realy was shat on, in the books and even more in the show, poor guy dint deserve half of it.
During the parley, I was agreeing with The Blackfish, but when he started trashing Jon, I thought WHOA WHOA there Brynden, take it easy.
Yeah, I was like "HEY, leave Snowflake alone, he did nothing wrong"!
Brynden has honor as black as the fish on his personal banners

The (obviously wrong) ethics of the Westeros and our own history. Besides Brynden would have more reason to trust Cat over some boy he did now know and shared no blood with, even if that trust was misplaced. If not very rational, it’s at least human nature to do so.
I love how you do all the Frey voices as nasally as possible... Top quality voice acting!

Your voice acting for Clement Piper was so good hahah I just love the way out of nowhere he just starts proper fuming on the Freys and rightfully so.
Losing a hand has certainly sharpened Jaime's negotiating skills. I wonder, did Jaime get his inspiration from what his son did to the "Antler Men" on the Battle of the Black Water? Poor Edmure, he's screwed.

I always loved this chapter. I kinda felt bad for Jaime while also kinda hating him. Now that's some good writing. Edmure is a fool... but I guess there isn't much he could do when Jaime threatens his son. I can't wait to see what happens to Jaime.
I wonder if Jaime feels proud or ashamed when he compares himself to Tywin after threatening to trebuchet Edmure’s baby.
@@DavidReadsASoIaF I think he was proud. Coz he ends with something like "see I am your son". And Jenna's comment about Tyrion being Tywin's son really wounded Jaime. Which indicates to me that he wants to be like Tywin. So I think he was kinda proud.
@@dablackangel i think you’re almost definitely right, but I like how that’s there alongside frequent criticisms of Tywin’s actions and reflections on the fact that he’s probably in hell after trhe Father’s judgement
@@DavidReadsASoIaF Yea no matter how much Tywin's children hated him coz he is an asshole. I think they all want to be seen as Tywin's heir/successor because of how much Tywin is respected... even if people don't like his ass. Even Jaime in the end.
It's a bit like... and excuse the reference 🙈... but in Mean Girls when Lindsey Lohan's character said "as much as Gretchin hated Regina. She knew it was better to be in the plastics hating life than to be on the outside." Or something to that effect. I think it was the same way with Tywin.

The show messed up this bit I feel. Here it is clear Jaime obviously doesnt intend to throw Edmure's baby on a trebuchet and is only acting like his father would have etc and proposing an effective threa to yield the castle so he doesnt have to shed blood or take up arms against riverrun. In the show its just..."I'll kill veeryone..man woman child to get back to Cersei"...like dude what happned to the guy who killed his own king to save his city

It doesnt matter whether Jaime would have or would not have launched the baby trebuchet; the fact is he made the threat, and that threat is definitely making its way to Stoneheart's ears...
Jaime cant do good by doing bad, he cant ride both Honour and Glory, he has to choose one side cos feeding both sides is only making the backfire WORSE... he cant make threats against children cos he himself is destroying Brienne's testimony that he is a changed man... pick a side Jaime, ride either Honour OR Glory
Not gonna lie, Edwyn Frey had a pretty good idea sure it was dishonorable it’s pretty damn clear the “honorable” way isn’t doing shit.

Just have to mention once in awhile, on our second time through the Feast of Dragons playlist I made of yours, also listened to Dunk and Egg twice, you made something that is what the show could have been. I've gotten to share my favorite series more fully with my partner, who watched the show with me and listened to me babble everytime I reread the series. Now they are waiting for Winds of Winter with me too. lol

No kidding. Walder Frey does nothing but whine about how everyone wrongs him, but he doesn't seem capable of understanding that at least half of it is his fault to begin with.

Its true your judged by the actions you did in the past no matter what you say or do you could be a hero now but in your past did some bad things so think on what you do cause most people judge you i try not to but its hard
Man, Jaime is amazing leader all in all. We already knew men follow him to death on battlefield, he's inspiring them, as we learned in book 1. Now, he's very assertive/bold whenever he commands, dude took Edmure from Frey camp just like that. And he's making perfect proposals + threats to Edmure... like he hit off all the marks "small folk, wife, child." All the things deeply Edmure cares about... and his threats also hit all the spots too... Jaime is what Cersei thinks she's...
So, Jaime's doing all this for the legacy in the end right? that seems his big goal since his maiming and return in KL. Filling up the book of king's guard with great deeds... Somehow making his torn up name little less broken and so on...
It is sad tho, knowing this much about him that we know, how others, who don't fully know him, assume so much. Like blackfish, he only knows that Jaime killed Aerys, didn't bring Catelyns girls... has no clue about truth behind it all...

The singer had previously been kicked out of Riverrun for making a song mocking Edmure. If I recall it was a song about him being too drunk to get it up called "the floppy fish", or something to that effect.

Why in the world would she think trusting Tyrion is the right thing to do from her POV
now mind you tyrion is very trustworthy, but she shouldnt think he would hold anything but contempt for her after she kidnapped him, took his possessions and freedom, gave him to her sister who starves hin and puts him in the most suicidable jail cell ever, puts him on trial with zero evidence, then after he wins the trial sends him out into the wild essentially to die there. She should expect a person she does that to to absolutely positively lie and cheat her out of anything he can (as any other sensible person would expect). Maybe its because tyrion saves her life during this whole ordeal🤔
And even if she does trust tyrion (which she stupidly does) and he does decide to keep faith (which he honorably does), shes *uckin aware enough to know Cersei is the regent and is really going to be the one calling the shots, if not Tywin himself either then or when he returns. And this is only a couple of the possible variables. The odds are astronomically not in her favor. Nor is karma for that matter, bcuz again she started the war with the kidnapping, fully aware what it would lead to. In modern law they call it mens rea, which is latin for "my dum*ass knew what i was doing was wrong and there would be people hurt and/or offended by what i did and regardless of possible repercussions i chose to do it anyway"

Tom seven strings, I think.
Tom once ran afoul of Edmure Tully when he stole a girl that Edmure was supposed to bed to take his virginity. Edmure had drunk too much and was unable to perform. Tom then made a song about a floppy fish, which led to Edmure's hatred of music
Tom o Sevens and Edmure had history, unbeknownst to Jamie. A funny coincidence, which I think will definitely bite Jamie later.
Everytime Jamie attempts anything 'honorable or justly' it backfires.
@@shortstuff780 I feel bad for Jaime because he always has to play both parts of being a redemptive knight and a Lannister man. Either part he plays only brings bad reputation which I'm sure would doom him with his confrontation with Lady Stoneheart. The only person who knows the real him is Brienne and her word is nearly as empty as his in front of his accusers.

It's supposed to be Tom Sevenstrings, Edmure had a problem losing his V card due to a moment fof impotence being drunk. Tom made a song of it called "Floppy Fish," and might've bedded the girl instead of Edmure that night as well. Tom was also with Beric so he heard what Jaime said and might tell Lady Stoneheart.

With Jamie's threat each one of those things would be something Tywin would do. But not all at once.

Tywin killed hundreds of men women and children ordering them to be drowned to death and his red wedding proposal shows Tywin is so ruthless I wouldn't put it past him to do any of that.

Why the hell does the blackfish think jon was in league with Tywin?
There is no evidence, no reason and most of all it makes no sense!
This is yet another reason as to why I dislike Catelyn Stark, she hated John for no reason and really really annoyed me throughout the entire series, and especially as lady stone heart because she makes baseless accusations, with no evidence and utilises the justifications of when she was alive, 'all for my children' and when she died and was brought back to life as 'I will kill all those who betrayed the Starks'
She hated Jon because having him around shamed her (one of the many contradictions of Westerosi gender norms) and because he was a constantly looming threat to her trueborn children’s inheritance. This meant that she disciplined herself to hate him, to ignore or deny his good traits, to make sure he was always kept apart. It was awful, but no highborn in Westeros would expect her to treat Jon with anything but contempt, much less like one of her children.
Acording to the super massive essay about the Grand Northern Conspiracy, Blackfish is doing it to throw Jaime off the fact that Jon is Robbs heir, if he said, that yes Jon my king( Robb) always said he was a good man then Jaime would know something was off. Remember Blaclfish was there when Robb wrote his will making Jon his heir. Next chapter a few of the high ranking members of the castle ask to join the Watch.
Its kinda like how Wyman talks about bran and rickon, but doesnt mention Jon, a lot of the conspiracists in the North avoid mentioning bastards or Jon Snow,
A funny aside Jaime tells blackfish that king robb is dead, his kingdom died with him because he had no heirs( rickon and Bran are assumed dead). The blackfish awnsers back that he is blind because one direwolf banner still flies. I think hes making fun of Jaime, jaime says all starks are dead and Blackfish is making fun of him by saying that one Direwolf (Jon) is still on the field.
