Improve your discus technique by learning how to 'sprint' out of the back of the ring while keeping a proper shin angle. This is a critical element of the full throw or spin. Having a high shin angle is one of the most common errors made by beginning throwers (and even more advanced ones).
Elite discus throwers are in control throughout the entire throw and perform a lot of work on the ground. Driving or “sprinting” off the back of the ring, in control, and with the correct shin angle is paramount. If a thrower is off-balance or too high on the first turn, they are no longer in control of the throw, gravity is.
In this video Coach Bedard provides some helpful tips on how to perform the discus full throw and shares what he looks for when a thrower lands in the power position. Featuring demonstrations by Olympian Casey Malone.

@@OutperformOfficial Yea, i can see that at 2:31 where your whole body fits within one arms length of the dude. And his hand is so big it looks like he holds the disc the way I hold a teacup saucer.

I have an athlete that is currently ranked #1 in the state but she has a horrible habit of opening up her left arm too far ahead of her lower body. What can i do to help her break this habit? Ive tried the 360 drill and ive tried breaking down the movement per your tutorial, but she still is not getting it right. Please help!!

Very common problem. A potential fix is to have her start out of the back with her weight and left armpit already over the left leg with a very controlled wind. Similar to Anthony Washington ruclips.net/video/MYXczuzdX0M/видео.html
The idea is that by limiting the wind and pre-shifting the body weight over the left you will be removing the tendency to continue the inertia from the upper body that is developed from the wind. This way the legs won't need to "catch up" to an upper body that is already moving.
Hopefully this should force her to do the work with the legs.
If she is having trouble getting out of the back without the momentum from the wind: a good cue is to focus on driving that left knee down and towards the center of the ring.
Taking away the discus and using a stick across the shoulders (or even holding a med ball at the chest) will also help re train the nervous system to generate movement from the lower body.

@@OutperformOfficial both of those make a lot of sense I've not tried either of them before. We just finished practice today so I'll have her run through that tomorrow. Thanks coach

@@OutperformOfficial Okay status update. I've run her through the medball chest drill and then I had her starting with preloaded weight on the left foot, but now when she lands, she is not getting fully rotated and is throwing way out the right side of the circle. Do I continue with the drill or do I have her add a longer right leg on the start? or am I missing something? Thanks again for your help!!
