Nicholas Yee there's something so much more than beautiful about every piece you play like you're playing from your soul and it makes me love those pieces u play more then when I heard the original. This is more than talent more than a gift. Its a passion and its amazing to experience
RUclipsExplorer I would totally agree except I fell in love with the cello when I played my first note I have now been playing for a year and a half and practice so much I play in ensembles with people who have for 8 years most all of my family have played horns but the the second I touched a cello they could have tryed forever and still not gotten me to play a horn
RUclipsExplorer everytime I play my cello I almost cry because its just a beautiful sounding instrument to play. And when hearing someone playing a cello perfectly brings the tears to my eyes.
Hi bro! It's amazing bro! I loved it The soundtrack is beautiful! I loved the season 8 I'll play it with my cello! I'm from Uk I buy my cello When it was 2023 I buy it on June 25 I studied when i was almost 5 I was going to play songs what I want Omg! is that season 8?
I don’t mean to disrespect, but is he playing over a recording (cello-syncing)? There are a few spots where he lifts the bow but the cello note still plays...
It is the perfect reproduction of the beginning of the first episode of the fourth season by showing Ice (legendary sword of the House Stark and represented by the theme of the House) being melted by Tywin's command (here comes Rains of Castamere) to produce two swords. The dramatic start of the season that mixes with the opening theme. I always wanted to see the reproduction of the beginning of this episode with the opening theme
This is absolutely stunning and lovely, the main theme sounds exactly like how it does on TV! hope there will be an updated one after S8 ends with that dragon soaring aaaaAHHHHH song and jenny of oldstones and whatever somehow more heartbreaking piece they play as our favourite characters die off one by one
Game Of Thrones is my favorite series, and listening to you playing the most touching songs from it just brought tears to my eyes. In 3 minutes and 21 seconds you managed to bring back all the emotions one feels while watching Game Of Thrones. Amazing. Thank you.
I really love this. It helps to calm myself when I'm in a stressful situation but...its kind of saddening too. Love to know more about you man! Good job!
Wow I really wish I played cello. I’ve always been fascinated with the cello, the versatility and beauty of this instrument is really one to die for and I would give alllllmost anything to make this my instrument of choice.
I've been watching a whole bunch of cello videos as I'm making my own little GoT song, but I'm purley a keyboard player. I've been studying the movements of cello players and trying VERY hard to emulate that playing style with keyboard playing - it's not easy and likely impossible for the full range of expressions, but some software out there makes these things passable... Anyway, my point is that watching YOU play the cello makes me WANT to play the cello properly too! It's also helping me hone in on those elusive nuances that actual playing creates as watching what you do and how is a joy in itself. Many thanks!
Nicholas- I have to admit that I used to ignorantly think that cello doesn't have any range, that it can't hold the same weight in a solo performance like other instruments. But the range in this video, I have no idea why I had any doubts about cello. Thanks for sharing your beautiful talent.
Can you please, please arrange a score of this arrangement? I can't find an accurate enough piece for the cello and your cover sounds spot on. I would do it myself, but I'm not sure what the tempo is and the key is. I would be greatly appreciated if you could at least share the theme song arrangement. Thanks.
"Song of Ice and Fire" More like "So of Ice and Fire" The beginning piece brings me Jon Snow. The second Red Wedding. The Last ... the fact the series is ending soon.
+Yorke Pittar Thanks for the comment! I don't think I'll do another Rains of Castamere video though, kind of wanted to tie it all together with this one.
Hauntingly Beautiful. Bittersweet as well. For those of us who did the long haul (watched from early on) with this amazing series, the showrunners absolutely crucified it with the end season, *tragically.* All fingers crossed for House of the Dragon.
LeonGuitar Haha thanks buddy, I don't even watch it either I just figured it was time to do it since there is so much cello in the score :) Hope you're doing well!
Going to need a this today....... good weather outside OTTW today. I got the window seat to a nice view ... All around positive vibes... Hope you all are having a blessed day and I hope His performance cheers you up as much as it does for me
Please add these medleys to itunes so we can purchase them! Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Interstellar. ALL incredibly well done!!! I want to listen to them over and over.
Loved it. Have you increase the speed of the "winterfell theme" and decreased the speed of " rains of castamere"? because nobody else's cover sounds as good as yours..but if i play "winterfell theme" at 1.25 speed and " rains of castamere" at .75 it sounds some what like yours..
Size doesn't change sound, size is for your comfort, if you're a bigger person you use a bigger size, you can prolly go to your local music store to get sized
I also don't reccomend buying a bargain cello, most of the time it will cost way more to get the thing in decent playing condition than the actual cello itself
+Frankie Stein Hey man, thanks for the comment! If you're a full grown human then a full size is probably best, it will also be easier to find a cello that you really like since there is a greater variety and the quality of full size cellos are generally better. This is just because the other sizes are meant for people to use as they are growing up and aren't intended for long-term use.
I would argue that size does greatly affect sound because almost all full-size cellos ive heard sounds much better, fuller, and cleaner than any other size.
That's seriously one of my favorites songs, so rich intense and strong. You did it so perfectly and that is, for sure the best version I heard of the song

Is there any sheet music to any of your songs? These would be so fun to learn.
do you have sheet music for the first song called "the north remembers"
Nicholas Yee there's something so much more than beautiful about every piece you play like you're playing from your soul and it makes me love those pieces u play more then when I heard the original. This is more than talent more than a gift. Its a passion and its amazing to experience
Magnificent

it's a mixed of "The North Remembers", "Rains of Castemere" and "Game of Thrones Theme". Perfect
Its starts with Two Swords from season 4 - scene where Tywin has Ice reforged into Widows Wail and Oathkeeper
... Yes, that is the literal definition of a medley.
I thought it was "a Lannister always pays his debts"
The North Remembers...
Aye
DON CORLEONE the king in the north
As a Northerner : +1
Being familiar with The Prince : "They should. That's the point" (paraphrasing Tywin Lannister).
And winter is coming
winter is here.
Yaaasss
It came for House Frey.
The sound of a cello draws tears from my eyes every time. Simply beautiful.

@@nicholasdyee will you play how far I'll go from Disney Moana? I heard you playing Disney aladdin before
Starting it with Winterfell theme was a cheat... got us emotional... then hateful with Rains of Castamere haha
Luiz Fernando Cavalcanti dos Santos Haha I based the intro on the opening of Season 4, I thought it was an interesting blend of the two/three themes.
Nicholas Yee I play the cello and I can never be as good as you 😱
When you have deep bass headphones
*total eargasm*
:D
I GOT THE CHILLS

Cello is such a pretty instrument!
The vibrato and perfect intonation and flawless shifting. A God. A Legend. Kneel before your king
This guy is a master
agreed
I don’t mean to disrespect, but is he playing over a recording (cello-syncing)? There are a few spots where he lifts the bow but the cello note still plays...
@@CSchaef02 nah. Check your eyes
my favorite notes on the cello will forever be the 1/2 steps after the nut in 1st position. so gritty and beautiful

So cool that you picked up on that! That was absolutely the inspiration for this video, I thought it was such a great way to integrate the themes
Rains of castamere sounds so cool and beautiful with a cello... as does everything
I enjoyed you created the soundscape with cello.
Literal goosebumps when he started playing Rains Of Castamere
Catlyns face comes to mind everytime I hear that
If you like this theme, you should try to play the Westworld theme! They're very similar in style. You sound amazing by the way :D

Anna Gaffney Both scores are from Ramin Djawadi, that's why they're great :)
Anna Gaffney I said the same thing!!! :)

"Stick 'em with the pointy end." Awesome!

Dude, I've heard many covers but yours the best. Nobody else usually covers the part that you played at the beginning. Loved it. Hands down, bro.
I play the violin and to sound as clean is this is a dream! You are the reason I want to play the cello!
Excuse me while I cry thx bro *omg you are soooo good!!*

yeah can you please make an arrangement for this
Ex Ov Yes😊 That would be so amazing!!! It's such an amazing mixture of the different themes!
You could also learn to read multiple clefts, because its most likely what he did here. Translated the violin/viola parts onto the cello.
Amazingly beautiful!! I've got chills throughout my body!!!
Dude your now my favorite youtuber because i play the cello

Im gonna watch this for the rest of my life.

"Song of Ice and Fire"

I love the tone of your cello, really rich bass
I loved "The Rains of Castamere" at the beginning!
Hey Nicholas! Great cover! Though I don't watch the series! Can't wait for your next cover.

That Stark theme is so beautiful! The North Remembers
I just started playing the cello and I am so bad. Trying to learn this song and watching you makes me want to give up :(
Hey, don't give up. it's a long path, but one day you will master it!
Julia J. Wink thank you
You'r not alone, I just started too, and I am bad too
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great
Daisy Moore including breathing. babies have to practice breathing in the womb. one of the only things that usually comes naturally is your heartbeat.
Kicked me in the feels. Beautiful.
My friend, tell me please, what frequency are you playing on ? 440 hz or 432 hz ? It's beautiful performance🙏🏻👍🏻
440 Hz, and thank you!

How long did it take you to learn?
The cello has such a beautiful rich dark sound 😍
Anyone have the PDF for the theme
Your work is breathtaking. Your cello has helped me sleep on my many PTSD sleepless nights.
I bet your in julliard with the amazing way you play, If your not then that's to bad for them because your amazing
I had to listen to this over and over, You inspire me to take even more lessons. And practice more.
If only our band had a damn string section.
In my school I am the only string instrument. I wish we had more

+Keedan44 no it doesn't. I play cello and I went from a half size to a full size and it still sounded the same.
Reading the comment section whilst listening to this. Astounding!
how long have you been playing?
probably since 5
Rains of Castamere is one of the most epic and chilling fantasy songs of all time
I didn't have the Rains of Castemere in there, though.
Linda Peng it did... 0:37
WhatsGoingForward I mean I didn't in my own cover. :)
So beautiful!
You have excellent tone, man. Love the vibrato in the main theme and the arrangement in general. Thanks for sharing.
That gave me goosebumps! The emotion in your playing has simply hypnotized me! I just became a fan!
Omg... So... So... AWESOME!
Dude i just got the chills...WINTER IS HERE!!..... or im just shookef
Merveilleux, j'adore!! merci!
I'm in love 😍 real cello goals here ❤
I wish you had a full version of both the Stark and Lannister themes during the first 90 seconds. So good.
beautiful music i love game of thrones.
So much feeling, those change of positions were fantastic. I really have to work on that. Congratulations, it was really beautiful!
Candela Junco Sorry for the late reply! Thanks for the kind words and for taking the time to watch!
I can listen to you play all day everyday, beautiful, so very beautiful. Thank you
The beginning gt me teary! ❤
I remember finding this when it first came out (my first year of cello) and making it my goal to play this. Now I can.
That's seriously one of my favorites songs, so rich intense and strong. You did it so perfectly and that is, for sure the best version I heard of the song
It is as if you could read my mind... that's brilliant! You're great!
Beautiful, just beautiful.
O violoncelo é um dos mais lindos instrumentos musicais que existe, na minha opinião. Parabéns! Você toca muito bem!
