Misty, i love your videos! I like how you are able to stop the demonstration from Amy & explain further or make her instructions more clear. Great job!
Love the toppers you are both wearing. My chiffon jacket was an easy kimono type but I added some pinch pleats for shaping the back. Like you pleat on the front. Thank you from Julie Sydney Australia.
Great thought Kathleen. We are working on a couple options for pockets that will be eventually added to the Bonus Content that you can access from the QR code in the pattern.
Great video for the diversity of the pattern. For those of us who are older and get cold in the winter, this is a great flannel type shirt fabric. I will definitely purchase the pattern. Thanks Amy and Misty.
Thanks Misty. Lovely ideas to sew. Very creative, fun, & versatile. I can make the red hanky one first, then ease my way into sewing with the wool, & the silky rayons for the Southern charm affect. Many of my outfits will be extra nice with a topper. Thanks for a great turtorial Misty.
I enjoyed this video❤thank you! I made these coverups in the 70's. I made my own pattern in Home EC. I am 68 now and buy coverups. I will be purchasing your patterns. Love it!❤✂️🧵
I enjoyed this video a lot. I have been wanting to make a cover like this for awhile now. I thought the instructions were pretty good and loved the variations of fabrics. The different products was informative as well. I have often picked up a tool and wondered what the heck is that for , when I was first learning. Lol Have a great day everyone !
I remember the rayon blue and brown from my trip to Missouri Star this summer. I love the window pane. I think the fabric makes all the difference and linen is my favorite but hard to fine large muted colors in fabrics that are woven. Need woven but still drapery.
Fun to see you doing a little bit of garment sewing! A super easy solution, if you don't want to see the unprinted side of your printed fabric: Just flat line it with a print you like. (Especially good if you've chosen a very lightweight fabric)
Love this! It is difficult to understand the construction with that dark fabric but I'm sure the pattern directions will be clear. Possibly the back neck has a facing? I can see this being a great gift.
Thanks Lida! Yes pattern directions give you all the details with diagrams to follow. There is not a back neck facing. Glad you like the idea of making the AnyTime topper for gifting.
Wish you would have demonstrated this with the pink fabric. It would have been easier to see the the right and wrong side as well as the pleats and the hems.
I love the topper! I enjoy your FREE videos and like that your guests, who I presume aren't used to being on camera, do their best to explain their projects. I understood the instructions and will be looking for the pattern. I think it would make a great swim suit cover up. Amy, don't pay attention to the nasty comments.
Thanks for the video! I bought this pattern last month. Have some vintage kimono silk I want to make into this, My FIL sent home when he was in the service and I was fortunate to inherit it. Never sewn with silk before so will make out of another material before cutting into it.
Fantastic!!! I have been trying to buy the Anytime Topper and am having trouble finding it. I'm hoping this means that I can now get it a MSQC. Thank you!
Nice garment, can be dressed up or down! I have made alot of my own clothing, but I have to say not a good tutorial instructional. Use to very detailed tutorials from MSQC, nice job Misty illustrating some points. Her garment is neat but was very confusing instructions by her, she jumped around to much. Thanks very Fashionable as well.
I always hem sleeves , necklines etc. after the side seams and major constructions are done! How do you manage the 6 layer bulk at the bottoms of the sleeves and side seams?
6 layer bulk at the bottom? The only layered bulk is at the shoulder seam where it’s been folded and the back is sewn to the front. The sewn fold does not continue down the front. Watch the video again.
Thanks for your question Julia. The six layers are only on the bottom hem corners. We did not have any issues with this but our fabric choice has been mainly lighter to medium weight fabrics. One tip is to press each fold separately and pin in place as you work.
We will have to try the French seams and we are working on designs for a pocket that may eventually be added to the Bonus Content that is accessed via the QR code in the pattern. Thanks for your suggestions!
I would like to know the name of the pattern of the quilt on your lap during your intro. Your dog comes up to your lap for a pet while you are in the chair. I have looked on the website but haven’t seen it. Thank you for your help.
I just wish this was more on the tutorial side with more instructions and details on how to put this together. I’ve ordered the pattern but I didn’t have any luck on finding fabric on the website for this project, very confusing for a beginner
I will have to try that. Not sure if it will work but worth a try. I love it with a long sleeve shirt underneath for Fall and Winter. It's great in a flannel.
I found it hard to see what was going on with the dark fabric, and at plaid at that. I would have understood it better with a solid, lighter color. I found the explanation confusing.
The coverup is really nice. I wonder, though, why Amy didn’t sew the seams first and then do the hems as you would in sewing other garments. I think the edges wouldn’t hang as nicely, done the way shown.
It’s too bad this pattern in currently unavailable; kind of poor timing. By the time you have it available, I will have completely forget it. Please feature it in your daily email when it comes. Love these tutorials! So we’ll instructed! Old lady Janet.
I don’t usually read comments. But the comment to the right of my screen stuck out like a sore thumb. If you can’t say something nice then don’t comment. Lift others up instead of putting them down. 🙂
Love the idea of the topper. Felt the guest was not the easiest to follow. Additionally the fabric made it so difficult to actually see the things that she was speaking about. Again, liked the topper.
I used a brown lunch bag as a pattern. Cutting down each edge on the fold. You end up with a cross-like pattern. Cut fabric adding a seam allowance. Sew the sides and top edge . Add a tie on one of the top edges to attach the the headrest and done
@@blufishies I made 4 already used vinyl to make a removable linger. Was just wondering how others made the vinyl lining, maybe there was an easier way than what I am doing it. thanks
