    • @IMOO1896
      @IMOO1896 2 года назад +1

      6 layer bulk at the bottom? The only layered bulk is at the shoulder seam where it’s been folded and the back is sewn to the front. The sewn fold does not continue down the front. Watch the video again.

    • @AmyBarickman
      @AmyBarickman 2 года назад +2

      Thanks for your question Julia. The six layers are only on the bottom hem corners. We did not have any issues with this but our fabric choice has been mainly lighter to medium weight fabrics. One tip is to press each fold separately and pin in place as you work.

    Keeping my bridle on here, but this is disappointing in so many ways. I'm sure it is confusing for even the novice. The title may mislead one to think it is a "complete" how to video. It is more about "get the pattern" and girl talk video. The guest is addressing Misty rather than the audience. Hope this was taken constructively rather than a rant. I' a fan of Missouri Star Quilt company; been sewing since age nine. It's hard to imagine learning to sew in this day and age as the patterns instructions seem to be translated and are difficult to understand. I think videos should be detailed yet without showing someone straight stitch for forty minutes, you get the gist. Thank you for putting your videos out there.

      Denise, thank you!!! and not to mention. This is a Caftan/Kaftan pattern from the 1970s. Not anything new at all. I don't understand why they demo this to sell a pattern... for 15 bucks then it is not even in plentiful supply, and Misty is gushing over it as if it's some hip new young person get up, when it's a grandma outfit from the 70's.

      There’s a link in the description drop-down, or go to MSQC’s website. Looks like a fun project, easy and quick gratification!😊

    The pattern is available via supply link in description.

    Incredibly difficult to understand the tutorial. I'm sure this pattern is fast and easy, especially adjustment for different fabrics. I do apparel sewing, and made adjustments for fabric. This was confusing.

    I love toppers but this was a non-tutorial tutorial but rather a big ad. And pattern unavailable???? Black material was a poor choice for a demo. I am sure the guest is knowledgeable but was a very disorganized presentation. I’m used to MSQS tutorials

    First-time garment maker here and the video instructions were rather confusing. Didn’t see much in the way of a tutorial. And as always, pattern unavailable hours after release of the video. Bummer

    Difficult to support MSQC heading in this direction. I always enjoyed the quilting tutorials, they were the best on YT. There is too much experienced competition for them in the clothes sewing area.

    Wondering if you will introduce a tutorial on how to make and also including adjustments to the pattern. The small size is still lots of fabrics for petites short. I did email Barickman for how to. Still the explanation is kind of complicated . This tutorial is to much talking

    Love the pattern but if I didn't know how to sew other I would be afraid to try it. Her directions were not very good. I hope the pattern is better for those who attempt it. It would be better if you actually sewed one on set instead of trying to cram way too much info into the allotted time.

    Watched the video. Still clueless. I'm sure it's simple but the tutorial is confusing. Maybe if y'all were standing and demonstrating on a mannequin or something? The fabric selection is dark, and it's always bunched up, so it's hard to see what you're doing.

    I apologize in advance but with all the flipping of the fabric and stumbling explaining you lost me, so I would definitely have to purchase the pattern to follow easier,

    Misty when will you hold a tutorial on the topper - also how to adjust - the pattern itself needs to have how to adjust for short people - and too wide - it’s overwhelming . Jumping all over.

      The pattern itself is too wide for shorter people - the topper becomes too much when you put it on,

    I almost always enjoy Misty’s weekly videos but this one left me cold. Yes, I did sew clothing when my son was small (he’s now 42) but I don’t ever sew garments anymore. Don’t like it😳😳. I would prefer if her videos stayed with quilting and leave garments to a place where many others like to sew them. I started the video but them scooted through to the end. Just,nit my cup of tea!!!!!!
