Love that Jenny remembered what quilt she made with that scrap. As a new quilter, right now I can tell you what I have made with each one of my scraps and it's nice to remember each gift I have made as I go through my scraps! Lovely memories!
It's great to see such a wonderful mother in law/daughter in law friendship.
I think it’s because they are both wonderful people
I like crumb quilting and using your stash cause then I can use the spools of thread that are almost finished and same with the bobbins. Kind of tidy up time in my thread box too

Nice....... Thank you for the tip. That's proper multi-crumbs.
Why didn't I think of that?!❤💕
I always want to do something in my sewing room, every day, even if it is only 15 minutes. This is perfect. And, when you look at the finished quilt, you remember all the other quilts you created with these crumbs.
Jenny and Misty, you are like a breath of fresh air.
Blessings to you both! 😍
Love your relationship with your mother in law! What a blessing!!

I love watching Jenny n Misty do tutorials. I absolutely loved the Crumb Quilting. It's going to be my new routine. Thank you so much you guys!!
I tried doing some crumb piecing for the first time this morning. I had so much fun! But it's not as easy as it looks. I had a hard time at first, just using random pieces, and forgetting about straight lines and right angles. I had planned to work for about 30 minutes, but when I looked at the clock, an hour and a half had gone by. I can't wait to see what my first block looks like when I trim it square. Thank you for sharing this fun idea.
I've been sewing crumbs for years and love the triangles, wedges and odd shapes. it makes the finished block more interesting.
I just love these live shows. Thanks heaps for being yourselves and sharing the joy X off to watch Ezra
feels good to quilt/sew without any math or thinking too much. Very freeing. I do lots of designing and precise sewing/quilting and this is a no brainer.
Thank you so much for "Finished is better than perfect." I so needed that!
How liberating to hear your ironing theory! HA!! I can't wait to make some of these 10" squares from crumbs! Thank you for the lovely, beautiful person you are!
My mornings will never be the same, thanks for another interesting tutorial!
I love the lighthearted feel of this tutorial. I was just searching Crumb Quilts last night, so the timing on this is perfect. Thanks, ladies!
After watching this tutorial on crumb piecing, I will never throw scraps away again. Kathrin from
Cape Town, South Africa.
Same for me!
Love crumb quilting! Highly addictive, rewarding, makes me smile! Love to see the crumbs after thy are ironed, oooh love the results! Just read on this comment section, that a triangle was used to start like a long cabin! I enjoy the freedom of just sitting down to just sew! Thanks you and want you to know I love your success! God bless!
I loved this topic. I have been quilting for years and never heard of crumb quilting so thought I would give it a go. I love the result and although I'm not hooked exactly, I love doing it at the end of a long piecing session. The result is amazing. Thank you so much for yet another fabulous tutorial.
I love Jenny Doan’s video tutorials and I share a lot of her ideas with my friends here in Anchorage Alaska
Just finished my first two crumb blocks! Love, love, love the template. Props to Lisa in Customer service too. My first template arrived broken and she took care of it right away. Had the replacement in just a few days! Thanks for the great tutorial and the terrific template that will let me use my crumbs as 10 inch squares.
I have been making crumb blocks forever - so glad to see this tutorial and know I'm not alone. 10" blocks are a great idea. Thanks.
I have made crumb blocks that I have sewn into large quilts for my great grandkids.. I have so much fabric that I have to live to be 120 years old before I quit , I am 83 years old! I save way to many of tiny pieces..I live in Alaska! Love your show!
This is great and you two are so fun together. Jenny's philosophy on ironing is spot on!
I love crumb sewing! I made crumb block curtains for my craft room. I love opening the door in the morning and seeing all those colors.
I agree, sewing crumbs together is very relaxing! ❤️
I just love crumb quilting! I used follow 15 minutes to play and every morning before work, I would allow myself 15 minutes to sew before work. These blocks add up very quikly. I like to make mine into star blocks. I call it mindless sewing because you don't have to think about it, just enjoy.
I know this is a long time ago but it reminds me of my best friend. When we sew anything from pot holders to doll clothes to quilts, we always did it like this she would iron and I would sew. It made it go so quickly! And more fun
I love making crumb quilts. It is so relaxing just sewing together pieces without having to match anything.
I love you guys! I might have my "after the holidays" project now - using all my scraps! Thank you!
Love it! Each square has its own unique pattern. Thanks for the demonstration.
Fun tutorial. Made me laugh, and I needed that today. I like Jenny’s relaxed attitude about seam pressing. Thanks.
I just watched Ezra’s video and it is just too adorable. It is beautiful to see how MSQC is one huge happy family and everyone gets involved❤️💕
I made a crumb quilt last year with tiny pieces, but didn't make it into blocks, it was just like a crazy quilt and really enjoyable to make. I was thinking of making another with just batik fabrics, the colours are gorgeous!
I am just starting to learn to quilt. I have never quilted before so I have so much to learn.
Doesn't matter when you start yoir quilt journey it's loads of fun
How refreshing your tutorial is, I am laughing and giggling with you in Germany. I am a scrap collector, ha!
I would sash it with black just to give my eyes a break from the busy. I love the crumb quilts but without the sashing, to me, it almost has a strobe light effect to it, which causes migraines, in me. Lovely job!
As long as you pair it with a solid of any color it will be more restful for they eyes.
LOVE this video - the crumb quilting idea, the humor, the teamwork - the family love , the colors, the black pieces, "finished is better than perfect", the ironing freedom gift, the quilt on the wall, the 10" ruler! Thank you!
I do that with scrapbook paper. I glue all the little pieces back together in 12x12 sheets. They are called Frankenpaper. ( I make books).
Teri N hehehe. Good call. We could be onto something here. 🤣

Thanks Jenny, I have just spent a couple of hours stitching odd bits together. I have smashed my scrap. Love it! Nicola from Poole UK
Such an inspiration! And I LOVE crumb sewing!!!!
The two of you are so good together. So much fun to watch and it's nice to have Jake there too. I'm going to have to try crumb quilting.
Great tutorial! I plan on having this as a class at our guild for charity quilts!! Thanks so much for all you do.
In the past I have done this same concept and it is called MILE A MINUTE.
Thanks for reminding me about this concept. Jenny, You are my heroine in stitching. Your positivity and not too serious slant on quilting is awesome. Thank you for all you do.
The beginning of this video takes too long before actually showing sewing.
I'm new to quilting! I love you ladies, & this is absolutely fabulous! Thank you so very much!
I love mosaic and this reminds me of it. Love it.
Watching during coved. You two brighten my day. I'm excited to sew crumbs. Thank you for this video !
Just watching this, what a perfect thing to work on while quarantined for COVID-19!!!
I am knitting hats for homeless people. I have 4 quilts going but I have chronic neck pain and just cannot sit at the sewing machine right now. So I sit in my easy chair and knit on a little loom. I think this would be a good time to learn to crochet. I am starting to get depressed and crazy! But, hey, I have lots of yarn, thank goodness! I also have an English paper piecing project started, so I can work on that as well. There is always something to do.
@Natalie Harrison Me too, but now during our Third one!
I missed this first time around. Really enjoyed it. I recently tossed a bunch of little scraps and now I wish I had them. I am totally going to be doing this. I also like the idea of starting out the day this way and setting a 25 minute timer. 💕
I’m new to quilting and watching you all make me want to jump in and learn. Your fun and bubbly attitude is absolutely contagious! Thank you!
I love "partner sewing"!! saves so much time and is more fun!! Loved the tutorial. I've been watching all sorts of scrap tip videos and already cut my larger pieces into 2.5" strips and 5" squares but have been throwing away the smaller bits...... no more!!
Hi Jenny and Misty, I was just talking to my daughter about crumb patchwork and here you are, during our lockdown I have finished seven quilts and four of them were returned from the quilter today, three more were taken , four of them are for my great grand children for Christmas, thank you for your easy to make quilts, I watch you a lot and have made many of your quilts.
I am very glad you keep these up in RUclips as I think its around 2am here when you go live!
Never done crumb quilting but oh my it looks like so much fun. I moved and got rid of most of my fabric, boohoo, so will eagerly start collecting again. Mahalo you guys.
Hello Jenny, I definitely need to start Crumb Blocks 😁 I have been saving my scraps up with a wide variety of colour 😁💚 Erica x
I do crumb quilting for my baby bibs. Oh goodness so beautiful and not like any one else’s. Thank you for sharing your gift.
This is perfect for people that can't afford shop Fabric or just yardage.
I'm always looking for bags of scraps.
Hahaha, Jenny is too funny! I remember all my quilts, but I have only been quilting for a year...
I too, am a new quilter. So..far I’ve only been at this for 10 months now. I have so much to learn. But..I love it.
An absolutely fantastic floor quilt for a baby.
I did a whole "picture" with my scraps without knowing there was a thing as crumb quilting. I mounted the pic on art board and hung it on the wall behind the toilet. Just so you know I painted the wall black and the project just pops! People come out of the bathroom and say how much they love the art!
I am a VFW fangirl. I have "15 Minutes of Play". One year I used my scraps to make mats for the cats at the vet's office and my aunt's house. I also use them for collage at preschool: triangles, rectangles and squares to make a "friendship quilt".
now I know why I keep those little things. I knew there was a reason for it. Thank you. this looks like so much fun.
Jenny, you are the best! Love all your tutorials. ❤️❤️
How cool! I knew there had to be something that could be done with all those little bits! My mom would love this, but she already hoards fabric, so this could be baaaad!
Your banter is absolutely hilarious! Love it! Love the crumb piecing too!
Hi Jenny....love watching you. Thank you. From New Zealand.
Everything in quilting is named after food! Jelly Rolls, layer cakes, etc. so when we are done we have crumbs!
Yeah, we use up every bit! Nothing gets wasted.
And when we sew them together we get fat quarters......lol
You, three, are great! Lolololol
And that’s why I’m a FAT quarter! 🤣
@@mikecampbell869, that made me laugh out loud!
💕Wonderful idea. I’m going to make a picnic quilt with my scraps, I hate having scraps but won’t throw them away either. 💕❤️
Love, love, love this tutorial!!! You two are the best ❤️
Your scraps are So colorful! Speaking of trunk shows, I bet this quilt ends up in one!
A perfect way to use all those little pieces of fabric that its impossible to throw away!
What a great tutorial 👍 I’m not giving my scraps away anymore. Thanks!
I'm going to start saving more CRUMBS!! LOVE this!
If you use a triangle piece of fabric, you can make a crumb block out of it by going around and around it, log cabin style.
what a great idea....making a crumb quilt atm...with scraps from 8 years of quilting....4 boxes....3 totes and a trash bag..I think its time don't ya think?...
Jenny I just love you. You make my day happy!!
I love your tutorials, I am watching in Manchester in the UK x
Hello from Gloucester, MA! I love your tutorials! Thank you!!
Thanks for fixing the sound! Sounds perfect!
I made a mask out of a piece of fabric left over from a wedding sampler from 10 years ago, so we usually do remember where fabric comes from! I have lots of scraps, too, but I've been throwing the small pieces away. Going through the scrap bin to retrieve the bits i can still use for this!
I have been doing this. I have what I call a fun quit. Just like her example. This is really making the most of what you have.
MISTY and JENNY are so adorable together!! I LOVE Crum Quilting! And even more, I love these replays!! I have learned so many excellent sewing tips from Jenny just commenting on her years of quilting, and of course, the great questions from the live audience ! This is another brilliant idea generated by JENNY and the MISSOURI STAR QUILTING COMPANY family! (I WILL make my trip to you one day...!)
Fantastic way to use scraps. I enjoy watching your tutorials.
I have just recently found you on RUclips Jenny. You are absolutely a delightful instructor. I started quilting when I retired. I still consider myself a new quilter since I Quilt from a small one bedroom apartment. I am coming to you from London Ontario Canada. Thank you for all you do! ...Blessings! Gaétane
Just what I needed. Thanks from Brisbane Australia x
Inspirational and very funny! Thank you from London, UK ps Ezra is a star x
WOW! I've been thinking along these lines but didn't know if it were possible. Watching this, I thought it would be too much to put them together, thinking sashing between blocks, but when you laid them all down it was AMAZING! Thanks! Can't wait to try this. Linda in Bonham, TX
Love you both on the show, Misty is lovely.
Hi! Thanks for the video. I do this with leftover jelly roll strips. Just keep sewing them along. I like the idea of the 10” square up. Love your yellow rulers and templates. Can always find them!
I have taken my crumb quilting pieces and made small coin boxes, mug rugs and other small projects for my grandkids…It uses my scraps up and they enjoy the different colors and prints in them….Thank you for the video….
I'm curious to know what a coin box is.
I use crumb quilting as leaders and Enders while I’m working on a project.
Hello from Barberton Ohio I love watching your RUclips videos I have really learned a lot I have only been quilting for about 2 years and I haven't yet taken on machine quilting I send my tops to a longarmer but that is my next step I love quilting It is very theraputic My name is Debbie Brown
Love all your videos. Thanks for helping all us beginners
Love it. And Ezra's video was adorable!
I have SO many scrap pieces and knew about making strip blocks but this crumb method will better utilize all those odd pieces of different shapes and sizes. Thanks Jenny and Misty!
Also, you can use fun stitches on top of crumb quilting, stitches that most of us don't use often.
Jenny I love you so much when this world gets her shit together, my next vacation is your shop! Love to meet you some day. Love this crumb quilt idea!!! Thank you!
Watch this video over and over and still love it! Would love to have Misty around when I am crumb quilting - I would be much faster 😀 I'm totally into scraps!
Slowly but surely, I am making a QAYG quilt for my husband, for our CALIFORNIA KING bed. He insisted on that size so it has been time consuming but a lot of fun! I am using scraps and sewing it on a foundation, log cabin style-sort of! And it has allowed me to practice making common block designs. Plus if they aren't perfect, they can be cut and used in another way, in another block.
As with most quilters, I have multiple boxes of leftover pieces of all sizes (some even sorted by color) and was going to cut them into strips for string quilts. Now, rather than do that, I think that I will start making crumb blocks instead. The hardest part for me is how to combine the fabrics so that the finished block looks good; I'm not going to worry about that now and will just sew them together willy-nilly and see what I come up with. I think that black sashing would unite all the multi-colored blocks and make a really colorful quilt.
Soooo glad I found you guys on line. Blessings and thanks from Ontario Canada.
Love crumb quilting workings on my first crumb quilt.
