THANK YOU so much for this easy to follow installation. I ordered fog lights, wiring and trims for my 2006 Saturn Vue from eBay but when the lights came in they did not include any instructions or wiring diagram. your video really simplified the process. I too had to cut the white...also the red...wire and used your coat hanger technique. They are successfully in! However, they failed to include the relay in the package I rec'd. So, now I need to find the right one before I can confirm everything works. Thanks Again. Nicely Done!
I've a chevy impala 2017 and this video helped me to find the fire wall , I ran the wire from the inside using a hanger , I tried several time and the wire was coming off finally I made a loop at the end of the hanger insert the wire make a loop with the wire and tape it and that solved my issue
Sorry Dave...I see that you listed the link in the comments below. Not sure if you know where else I could find this...wanted to do the project this weekend and not wait on shipping this item.
This for Dave O. You installed the "add a fuse" to a 20amp fuse slot. On my 2014 Malibu, that is the same fuse that turns off when the car is off. The instructions on the "add a fuse" box says not to exceed 10 amps. Did you still keep the 20 amp fuse in the second fuse slot? I am tapping into the 20amp fuse #7, which is for the power supply in the middle arm rest console. I hardly use that supply, so that is why I am attaching to that one and only using two 10 amp fuses. What is your thought? Thank you for the videos. Very, very useful!!!!
That should work, as long as you don't exceed the recommended amps for the fuse adder. If you don't connect to a fuse that doesn't power off with the car on "OFF" the lights will stay on. Good luck
Thank you for yet another helpful video. I really want the projector type fog lights. I only found one I;d trust to buy, BUT, according to CAR ID it wont fit my 2013 LT. Any suggestions, Dave?
Thanks for the video. I did everything the same except for the ground for the switch, I ran that through the firewall as well because I was too lazy to ground it next to that fuse box 7:03 It seemed like a tight fit to mess with it
+Jerry Ruiz - make sure you use electrical tape and start wrapping it tight around the coat hanger first about 2 -3 inches before you reach the wire, the go about 2 - 3 inches of wrapping after the wire. Make sure the wire is flush with the coat hanger. Good luck.
the both videos are great and helpful. I wanted to ask, I ordered on ebay the same LED bezel. but if it doesn't come with the wiring what all do I need?
i like what you did to your malibu i have the same model and was curious where you got your parts from im having a hard time finding them would like to do similar project

I ordered some stock hid and the wiring is different the bulb insert connection seems to have they're own ground and power line red/black wires on each end can anyone explain that to me?
Allen David Jr I wish it was that simple. But from what I’ve heard you would still need to have the BCM flashed to make it functional. I looked into it and a new switch only cost $20-$30, but the BCM is the issue
it would be nice if there were NO light when they are off and then only light up when they are on.. there really is no point to having the switch lite up when the lights are off ??
There might be a different type of switch available, but this is the one I used. As far as using the factory switch, I considered it, and the instrument cluster already has the light available for the fogs, but in order to accomplish this you would need to flash the BCM, and I didn't want to mess with that.
+Dave O If you didn't care for the light in the dash, Could you get a switch that has the fog light capability and wire into that? Does the harness already have a connection for the fog light that could be utilized?
Anybody 100% sure that these will also fit on the 2015 model. I know that they're the same body style, but I want to confirm that it fits before I order...
There are a ton of kits out there. Amazon, Car ID, Rock Auto and many more. I purchased mine from Rock auto because I wanted CAPA Certified. I've not had them installed yet because I was trying to decide which bezel to get. Thanks to Dave here, I decided to get the one from CATEC. bit.ly/2cAdtLS

Thanks for making this video. It helped a lot! (2015 Chevy Malibu Eco)
Can you recommend which kit I would need to buy for a 2016 Malibu Limited? It didn't come with fog lights on them so I wanna get them installed.
I have 2015 Malibu, I need the whole complete set, where would you suggest to get them at?
Why didn't you just order a factory control with a fog light on to it and connect to it ?
Sorry Dave...I see that you listed the link in the comments below. Not sure if you know where else I could find this...wanted to do the project this weekend and not wait on shipping this item.
love u bro I do a lot of custom work but never knew how to do foglights thanks
You just earned a sub buddy. Got a 2014 about a year ago now. Time to start making some mods

I have a 13 Malibu where did you pick up your kit from? Definitely trying to do this to my car
Thank you for yet another helpful video.
I really want the projector type fog lights. I only found one I;d trust to buy, BUT, according to CAR ID it wont fit my 2013 LT. Any suggestions, Dave?
What about when you put your high beams on?
Thanks for the video. I did everything the same except for the ground for the switch, I ran that through the firewall as well because I was too lazy to ground it next to that fuse box 7:03 It seemed like a tight fit to mess with it
I can't get throug the firewall. The taped wire keeps coming off
+Jerry Ruiz - make sure you use electrical tape and start wrapping it tight around the coat hanger first about 2 -3 inches before you reach the wire, the go about 2 - 3 inches of wrapping after the wire. Make sure the wire is flush with the coat hanger. Good luck.
+Dave O lol I have it just slides down this is literally the only thing stopping me. Like the coat hanger I pull out from hood but wire stays in lol
If you have a soldering gun, try and solder the wire onto the coat rack, then tape it up.
Hey man do if I buy all the lights and wires where could I go for some professionals to do it for me?
Very very helpful video.
the both videos are great and helpful. I wanted to ask, I ordered on ebay the same LED bezel. but if it doesn't come with the wiring what all do I need?
+Joseph Juarez It should come with everything, but might need the extensions H10. You can find them on Amazon.

Dave,
Thank you for all of your helpful videos. Are you able to explain more about how you got through the firewall?
I add another video with more detail on getting through the firewall
thank you!
How has these been holding up for you? Been considering adding fogs to my 2014 malibu
Still holding up great

How do you know what fuse is use on the add on Fuse. I know one is the one you took out but what about the other fuse. I'm new to this. ;(
I used a 10amp for the gps and switch for the fog light. No issues yet. You could probably use a 5amp if it's just the fog switch
So what’s the first light for on the headlight for
Why no video of the led colors?
Dave,
Where did you get the extensions/adapter for the fog light harness? I am doing this project this weekend and forgot about this step. Thanks!
Off Amazon. If I recall, I think they are Extensions for H10
thank you really appreciate that
I hope you don't have a 30 minute delay on those headlights lol great vid.
LOL, 30 sec.
You should have went to a junk yard and found a malibu with the factory fog light switch and used that instead. Is that possible?
Allen David Jr I wish it was that simple. But from what I’ve heard you would still need to have the BCM flashed to make it functional. I looked into it and a new switch only cost $20-$30, but the BCM is the issue
Dave O is it as easy as reprogramming it ?
Allen David Jr probably, but I hear the dealership don’t usually do it unless the do the work
hey what are the bulb sizes for the fog lights so i can order led bulbs
I believe they are H11, but might want to Google it to be sure.
dave can i get for a 14 impala
Looks good! I did the same. Check it out! All found on ebay

Yeah I did brother...Everything fits perfectly
Obie Carnathan oh thats great! Where you get the kit? Can u share a link to it? Thanks in advance.
