So glad you acknowledged that Queen is not just Freddie - it's the magic that happens from the combination of those four people together.
On this particular performance, special hat-tip to Roger's epic backing vocals whilst drumming like a man possessed.

Queen’s Philosopy: When you come to their concerts, they are not going to just do a rendition of their album version, they are going to give their fans a High Level performance. Queen felt that if they just played an album rendition, fans may as well stay home and just listen to the records!! They always gave their ALL, and critqued every perfomance afterwards. 😊

That is in my opinion Queen’s greatest performance of a single song from their catalogue. Supremely on point in every sense of the words from the singing to sensational backing vocals & drums from Roger Taylor, fabulous lead guitar work from Brian May & that metronome perfection of John Deacon on bass guitar. Amazing performance!

We told you :D One of the greatest if not the greatest single performance by a band of all time.
It never gets old. I've listened to it hundreds of times over the years if not more. It's epic every time. Never gets old.
Imagine the stamina Freddie had at his peak. This was just one song in a 2 hour plus concert. Epic!

What a guy! I have never seen a singer give such a spectacular performance and sip a drink while playing. That's so COOL! It does not get any better than this. Freddie was more than a singer he was magic Additionally Brian, Roger and John Each gave his ultimate to make Queen the cream of the rock crop. Love your backup vocals Roger ! There is a video on RUclips that has Freddie singing acapella. Find that one it is phenomenal. They say it is hard to sing acapella. It's Not hard for Freddie. He can sing anything with music or without. Thanks for the memories Freddie. We still love you too.

For all you ppl out there ! Queen is Freddie . Yes they others are the best but they were a amd before Freddie , and went no where fast . Freddie saw a vision with them and everyone writing about rock groups etc labels etc all say Freddie was the highlight and bright the best out of them and when they first saw when with Freddie it was all about Freddie !!!!! So no one is saying g the others aren’t the greatest but it is for Freddie and. Freddie was THE GREATEST of the Greatest even 29 years later

Fabulous! Queen still are the genuine article! While their studio work is awesome, their live performances are EPIC if not magical! A testament to their pure, eternal talent! Freddie was inspired by Aretha Franklin when he wrote this. He was a huge Aretha fan. Roger Taylor and Brian May both still have fantastic underrated singing voices also. Aside from beer and water on the piano, Freddie also had hot lemon honey drinks to soothe his vocal cords because, though they made it look like a walk in the park, their music is NOT easy to sing.

While this was a great, energetic reaction, which I truly appreciate cuz there are many who are literally stonefaced watching every video, I can't help but feel disappointed when reactors overlook Roger Taylor's phenomenal vocals on this song...Freddie wouldn't have had the freedom to go off and do all those ad libs at the end without Roger repeatedly singing "find me, somebody tooooo love...find me, somebody tooooo love". And although it took the person recording forever to show him singing, it was also him that echoed Freddie throughout the entire song with his higher pitched raspy voice. The fact he's singing during that driving drumbeat section blows my mind.
With that said, I still love ur reactions...great smile and great energy 😊

If you'd like to hear other Queen members singing, check out "I'm in Love With My Car" which has the drummer, Roger Taylor, singing, and "39" to hear the lead guitarist, Brian May (the live one has Freddie singing it). The bassist, John Deacon, was self-conscious about his voice so he never soloed a song, but he would step up for the harmonies.
ETA: check out the backstory to "39" bruh, you'll get a kick out of it. Brian being into astrophysics just HAD to write a song about space travel lol

  • @susanengland3919
    @susanengland3919 3 года назад

Contrary to what most people think, Freddie was not drinking beer. In 1975 he was diagnosed with nodules on his vocal cords, which made it very painful for him to sing. Drinking tea with honey helped lubricate his throat so that he could hit the notes properly, and is why he eventually had trouble hitting the high notes. Roger Taylor took over the higher range when Freddie couldn't. He refused to have them removed for fear it would damage his voice.

Freddie Mercury had one of the most recognisable voices in pop and rock
history. But just how good was the frontman's vocal power? While
Freddie's speaking voice fell in the baritone range, he delivered most
songs in the tenor range. His known vocal extended from bass low F (F2) to soprano high F (F6).
