Cried like a baby when I saw Bohemian Rhapsody because apparently I repressed everything I knew and loved about Queen up until like two years ago...Also two of my cousins were murdered in 90 and 91 back to Back because Detroit....I had to mourn Freddie all over again😭😭😭🎸🎸🎸Oh yeah I saw queen and Adam Lambert at work in 2019 I know some people say it’s not the same but since I never saw Freddy live and Brian and Roger like Adam, its beautiful... What always makes me laugh is that I'm from Philadelphia, but I was at Wembley Stadium for Live Aid by sheer chance. My mom and I were there for vacation and the tickets were offered to us for approximately $10.
I was in the crowd in Philadelphia, watching Queen on the jumbotrons, and I can tell you that we were absolutely following along just like the crowd in London. We didn't react like that to any of the other groups playing in London, but Queen got us up and moving.
Same for us in Detroit. :)

Live Aid was a charity event to raise money for the famine in Africa. Each artist was given a 20 min set to perform. Queen took this opportunity very seriously and practiced a week or two to get the 20 min set perfect. They even had a giant clock in the rehearsals!! Queen blew everybody away and to this day this performance is considered the best in rock history considering the event circumstances. Over 72,000 were there & over a billion people watched around the world. Queen was amazing & said that this was truly Freddie’s day!! The Dr. told Freddie not to perform cuz of the nodules in his throat - the rest is rock history!!! A big shout out to the other members of Queen - Brian May, Roger Taylor, & John Deacon!! Btw, Freddie was bisexual so I’m sure both men & women would’ve gone home with Freddie that day! 🤪 Freddie’s endurance is unmatched .... a normal Queen concert lasted over two hours. Freddie was a boxer - hence the Adidas shoes plus he said they were comfortable!! Queen is one of the best selling bands of all time!!! You should react to NOW I’M HERE live at Wembley 1986. That drummer is TOTALLY “doing his thing”. That would be Roger Taylor, and besides those drums, he is the other voice you’re hearing throughout. He has all the high harmonies and was almost clairvoyant at knowing exactly which notes to jump in and cover whenever Freddie’s voice got strained. The entire band was that tight at reading each other’s cues. One more reason that they dominated the live scene.
Freddys been declared the greatest front man of all time!! And I agree! And this concert performance by Queen was voted the greatest live performance ever!
Freddie Mercury is one of the best male vocalists to ever live. Such an incredible imprint he left with his music and creativity. My dad was a huge queen. So glad some one recommended this.
Freddy is considered the number 1 greatest vocalist in the world then and now. Make no mistake the is no one who can compair.
Freddie wrote this song while sitting in the bath “Crazy Little Thing called Love” ...it only took him 10 minutes to compose...now that’s what you call genius🤩

This concert was massive, over a billion people watched it on TV all overe the world. Queen was known world wide even before this because they had played in so many dirrerent countries. Just to add ... the audience is NOT Made up of people paying to see Queen. Queen wasn’t even announced when the tickets had already sold out!! It makes the crowd interaction even more impressive when you put that thought into the equation!!

On July 13, 1985, we had world peace for 22 minutes because of Freddie, Brian. Roger and John.
Queen was 4 equal people, Freddie was the first to say this. All were university graduates, all song writers, and multi instrumentalists. Freddie lead vocals, piano sometimes guitar degree in graphic design. Brian lead guitar, backing vocals, sometimes piano now has PhD in Astrophysics. Roger drummer (as well as guitar, bass piano-- his songs were mostly complete when he brought them to the group) high backing vocals, degree in Biology. John bass, (guitar piano etc) only one that really didn't sing, degree in electrical engineering.
And they had a unique sound because Decan (bass) invented the amp they used, and to this day no one has been able to replicate it. What you had up there was the cast from the "big bang theory" with instruments and a mic in their hands. All 4 were geniuses in thier field, and as can be seen in music as well. They are all legends that will never be matched. Can you imagine having to be one of the bands to play after them that night? How do you live up to the standard they just dropped on that stage? 😂😂
David Bowie was the next artist up. Can you imagine following this. Rock on.

Queen were not just rock. They did all sorts of music and totally nailed everything they did. Gospel, soul, jazz, blues, folk, ballads etc. There was no limit to their talent.
He was asked "what's your instrument?" Freddie's answer: "the audience"

Barbara was a liar. Her daughter later confessed it. The thing is Freddie was living in Munich in 83-84 and he had a boyfriend in there Winnie Kirchberger, this is when Freddie met Barbara. Barbara was their friend and their translator, German to English cuz neither Winnie knew english nor Freddie knew German.

Freddie was such a flamboyant artiste and Nobody will ever measure up to him. He was one of a kind. He is so very missed. Freddie's boyfriend, Jim Hutton, was in attendance for this show. His first concert ever and his first time seeing Freddie perform live! Freddie did have a girlfriend for years (Mary Austin) which he remained very close to until his death from AIDS in 1991... . he left her the bulk of his estate) But yes, the ladies still loved Freddie Mercury! 😍

Tickets weren't that expensive for most concerts and they were all general admission and seating until a fan was trampled to death at a WHO concert in Cincinnati. Ad stated earlier tickets were generally under 20 bucks for a 2 to 3 hour concert. This particular event went 16 hours. Queen came on at a prime time with David Bowie, Elton John and Paul McCartney to follow. We were doing the hand clap 5000 miles away in our living room watching it on television. That's how powerful this performance was.

Their concert often ran for 2 hours and he sang 20+ songs, running from one end of the stage to the other so everyone in the audience had the best experience possible. His endurance was incredible. He said he had to go into training before they started a tour. The Wembley concert sold 72,000 tickets 2 nights in a row. Freddie needed his tea, tea with lemon and honey, and lemon water to keep his throat functioning. He had trouble with nodules

Yep. If you want as many subs as possible. Queen reactions are a great way to get them. Once people notice you're doing some Queen those subs will rise. To this day they have among the largest fanbases of any musicians in history.

Any Queen live will never disappoint. Unlike most if not all artists, Queen was better than the editing equipment used in studio versions, it actually took away from their talent instead of helping it. Freddie could not stand lip syncing and fought it tooth and nail and ONLY did it when they had to, like for videos. You want a song where all the instruments play your flipping soul? Listen to " White Queen live at the Odeon" It was from the 70's, the instrumental will put you in a trance. Freddie is as of late known as the "Human Auto Tune" on the rare occasion his voice cracked, he still did it in tune 😂😂 He couldn't hand you a bad note if he tried...lol

Nope, he wasn't. His friends, including Brian, Roger AND Mary has said that he was gay. His sister says in a documentary that he's gay and he didn't need to come out because they already knew, his stylist has said in a documentary, that he lived a gay lifestyle. His personal assistant for 12 years and who lived with him, Peter Freestone, says he was gay. Freddie HIMSELF referred to himself as gay. He's quoted as saying he's as gay as a daffodil. Once his manager told him he was gay and Freddie replied with "So am I!" When he went out, he went to gay clubs and, listen to this, slept with men, not women. I rather listen to the people close to him who loved and knew him instead of mainstream rumors journalists have written. The book by Leslie Ann Jones for example is full of lies. If his friends would have said he was bi I would have said so too. But he wasn't, he was gay as hell lol.

Freddie Mercury said some time later that he was only at about 70% strength because of his health. Queen wasn't originally scheduled to play that day. They were added after the event tickets had already been sold. They also didn't want to perform like every other artist or band. Others were only interested in promoting their latest hits or albums. Queen decided to do things a bit differently, which is why they played a lot of older (more familiar) stuff of theirs, except Hammer To Fall. It also explains the simplicity of the stage setup, the lights, and even the way they dressed. They didn't want the performance to be about being flamboyant; they wanted it to be all about the music. The next act to go on stage, after Queen, was the legendary David Bowie. It's noted that as he passed by Queen on his way to the stage, he was upset at how well they had been received by the crowd, and he reportedly said "You bastard! How the f**k am I supposed to follow that?!?!" Queen had just owned the Wembley Stadium crowd of 72,000 people for over 21 minutes, and in doing so, they set the standard for how a music performance was supposed to be done, and all the other acts had to scramble to try to match their intensity.

There were cell phones back then but they were as portable as bricks and usually found in limousines and super-high end cars.

There was a lot of excellent artists at that same concert too. I'd argue that every artist on that roster has at least a handful of hits you'd like.
Queen is just up in the Pantheon of rock.
The first song that they played a bit of, Is sometimes regarded as the greatest song ever written. There's a lot of debate around that but I can definitely see why. There's a reason why anytime people hear those opening chords, everyone sings along with "Bohemian Rhapsody".

I´ve been spending (too much?) time on other reaction channels, seeing your name pop up here and there. Finally discovered this channel (thanks to "Gnat"). At first I felt like "you´re interrupting Queen, delivering one of the greatest live performances ever" ... no, you´re really reacting (like a musician). Feeling it.

Bowie was backstage as Queen performed. As they came off stage, Bowie walked up to them, looked at them, and said, "You BASTards!" Then they all laughed, hugged, and enjoyed the moment. Once Queen got back to their trailer, they heard someone pounding on the door. They opened it, and it was Elton, who merely said, "Thank you for f*cking it up for the rest of us!" whereupon, they all laughed, shook hands and hugged again. They all knew it was the greatest rock performance of all time.

Freddie Mercury - greatest r & r front man of all time. Brian May - built his guitar w/his dad as a teen, still rocks & PhD in Astrophysics. John Deacon - awesome bass player & electronic engineer. Roger Taylor the singing drummer, still rockin'. They all wrote #1 hit songs, and brought us songs in a multitude of genre's. Various forms of rock, folk, funk, thrash metal, ballads, blues, ... opera fusion. LOL! Be careful now, Freddie always said he was NOT "the leader" of the band. Very equal status. Check out more! Oh man...I remember this day SO vividly. It was a hot July day and I was a 12-year-old boy who should have been outside riding my bike, or playing with my dog or swimming in our pool, but NOPE!! I spent almost the entire day watching Live Aid and lamenting the fact that I was just a kid and not able to be in London with what appeared to be half the world. I will NEVER forget when Queen came on to do their set. It felt like a jolt of electricity came out of the television set, so I can only imagine what it must have been like in that stadium. This was years before RUclips so I had never seen a live Queen performance. I had heard them on the radio, listened their records and watched their music videos, but I had NO idea of the massive power they brought to a concert stage. You have just witnessed the greatest 20 minutes in rock history. Awesome reaction, and I really appreciate that you give these legends the respect they deserve.

As far as his endurance, gotta remember he was also battling aids and prior to going on stage his doctor advised him not to perform so Freddie chugged 2 tall shots of vodka and did his thing. He is a legend..
