Great reaction! You should react to Queen - Princes of the Universe. It is one of their more heavier rock songs. Unfortunately not a lot of people are reacting to it. It is very underrated, one of their best. It was the feature song for Highlander.

HEY Andy, I was SO EXCITED to see your "Official Queen Reacting Partner" back with you today (because it meant you were obviously doing a Queen song & because I enjoy your different expressions, reacting together.
Suggestion: You REALLY should also watch "Somebody To Love" done in 1982 at Milton Keynes aka The Bowl. (There's actually an ongoing "debate" over which of the two versions is better) This one has the MOST. AMAZING. INTRO.)
Even if you don't do a reaction video for it, you guys should BOTH watch it!

Never gets old. I’m saying... IT. NEVER. GETS. OLD. 😬 I’m a drummer and it IS really hard to sing and play. His voice has been studied by vocal experts and he used a normally dormant part of the vocal structure to achieve the otherworldly sounds he made. Truly one of a kind, never to be found again.

Roger could easily have been the lead singer for any band but he had the sense to stick with Freddie and saw what a talent he truly was. You guys should do "Spread Your Wings". Its very early on in their careers and written by Deacon. Like Rogers singing, I feel like Deacons writing is under appreciated. All 4 are so incredibly talented. Plus, the video makes me giggle everytime i see it. Its a night and day comparison to their videos made later in their careers. It was filmed in their backyard (aka garden for the Brits) and they are all freezing their asses off except Freddie. He was pretty drunk and Roger claims he puked in his rhododendrons 😄

@@celt67 Yes, I have. I know they all went their own ways for awhile, but compare the years with Queen to the years he was in that band. Maybe my comment wasn't worded clearly. @@jacobstravail Yeah....It's all muscle memory once you've spent a "few" hours behind a kit. I've seen people on youtube, so enamored when someone like Neil Peart or Vinnie Colaiuta breaks or drops a stick and gush because he had a seamless transition in grabbing another. It's not that big a deal. If you play long enough, nothing short of catastrophe, like breaking a bass drum head should really hinder your playing. Although, once during an orchestra recital, I had a snare drum fall off the stand and roll across the stage. That stopped me dead in my tracks; took me a few minutes to recover as I was laughing so hard. The song was soon without a snare drum part, as my laughter infected the 2nd chair snare drummer. He stopped playing because he was laughing so hard. The conductor, on the other hand, did not find it NEARLY as amusing as we did during the performance. He wanted so badly to rip us a new one afterwards, but had to laugh at it himself once the show was over. That was probably 35 years ago and me and the other drummer still laugh about it.

    "Okay, let's do it!"
To see this band firing on all cylinders is incredible. Freddie belting it out with beautiful vocal control. Brian playing like one of the greatest guitarists ever... which he is! Roger spinning the drumstick and John slapping that bass. Just phenomenal.
I saw somebody (I forget who) react to this song and they were amazed when the camera showed Roger singing backing vocals. They thought it was a backing track playing. They were stunned that this was done by four guys with real instruments.
Says a lot about the state of music today.
I've seen some great classic bands live but I never had the privilege of seeing this band and I don't want to see the Adam Lambert version. So, watching it vicariously with reactors like you is as close as we'll ever come. There's just no replacing Freddie.
One of the greatest live versions of any song by any band ever.
Keep up the good work gentlemen.

Playing drums and singing is not the easiest thing to do. Just a little tidbit about Roger that you probably already knew. When the band first decided to name themselves Queen, no one knew of them, so for gigs they would advertise, "Roger Taylor and Queen", because he was already well known as a great drummer. Keep spreading the love guys. Did you review, "Queen - A Night At The Odeon - Hammersmith 1975

You know, I haven't seen this in the comments yet, but...can we give props to Freddie's mic guy? The guy who hands off the mic stand and takes it back at exactly the right moments! I mean... I was at that concert in 1981 in Montreal's forum. I had never heard them before that and I fell in love with them. I bought all their albums. They are the very best rock group of all times. These guys are serious musicians. I'm in my sixties now and I love to see your reactions to what I listened to when I was young.

Ohhh memories...guys, I’m soooo proud to say that Queen was my first concert ever at age 16 and I was actually part of that Montreal concert. I will NEVER forget it. It was at the Old Forum, the Hockey Mecca of the NHL where the Montreal Habs won the most Stanley cups in the history of the League. But that night, Queen were the winners. What a concert! It was fucking amazing! Not long after, I saw RUSH, Moving Picture tour and OMG, my jaw was on the floor the whole concert. That’s how good it was! I’ve been to a a lot of concert in my life and Queen, Rush & Pink Floyd are at the top of my list...I’m happy that you guys are discovering songs of bands that have been around for decades and that you know how to appreciate it. Keep it up! Rock’n’Roll will never die! 💙

This is my favorite song of all time, band, performance, one of my favorite concerts, great reaction. Queen was wonderful live; their studio versions are great, but they always brought another level to the live performances. There are so many excellent performances, but you must checkout White Queen live at Odeon-Hammersmith 1975, Save Me live Montreal, You Take My Breath Away Live At Hyde Park 1976, Is This the World We Created Live in Budapest 1986, Who Wants To Live Forever Live At Wembley, Son and Daughter Live at The Rainbow 1974, Dragon Attack Live Montreal.

freddie is such an awe-inspiring singer AND performer. people sometimes forget that performing isn’t the same as singing, and fred definitely has both! he’s so lucky to be gifted with such such such a beautiful voice AND to know how to use that voice to the fullest. the way he ad libs is really inspired. this song is notoriously hard because of all the changes and he just smashes it with a sip of beer. then he goes and forms a band with people who are just as talented and you’ve got queen. queen is just amazing, really.

The two versions are played at the same time next to each other. If you still were not impressed by Queen as a live band this would make you a believer in how good they are. You can see some mistakes in each night but you can see how trivial they were. You will be EXTREMELY impressed with Rodger’s time keeping. 1986 was before in ear monitors and playing with click tracks. Even if you decide not to do a reaction video to it, just watch it for yourself. It’s THAT good.

This is my favourite version of Somebody to Love... better than the record. The whole Montreal show is amazing. I really recommend you listen to entire Queen albums to really get the Queen experience. Back then, records were mainly sold as albums, and were recorded to be listened to in order, in their entirety. Freddie and Brian have said that that is how they recorded, and that they had to pick a single after recording and fought about it because they couldn't make up their minds. I recently bought a few CD's of their early albums, and it is just great to listen to the whole thing. It really takes you on a whole journey. And it makes sense with little lead in's etc between songs. Eg. The Prophet's Song has that acoustic, sweet plucking guitar thing at the end. It then slides into the harp on Love of My Life. As you know Floyd, you'd be aware of listening to the whole album concert. Just FYI: you do realise that Dark Side of the Moon was the biggest stoner album ever? I was a teenager in the 70's, and it was considered that you could not listen to this record without being high... you just weren't considered to be doing it justice!!! ;)

NOOOO, first Lap of the Gods (not Revisited) Rainbow 74, for Roger Taylor’s long gone but never forgotten high harmonies. They’re unique in rock music, usually mistaken for a synthesiser or Brian’s fancy guitar work. LOTG Revisited is a beautiful anthem, but to learn about Queen’s unique sound, it’s time, first, to see/hear young Roger Taylor’s four-octave high range in action.

Anita Smith I doubt he could do them live much after Rainbow 74. Even in live ‘39 he’s stopped doing the top notes by ‘76 and LOTG is way harder,
Andy, if you do LOTG Rainbow 74, couple it with another song bc it’s very short. On the album, it runs straight into Stone Cold Crazy, which is an extreme change of pace. I think you’ll like Stone Cold Crazy: very early speed metal. Or maybe the first punk track.
