Thanks, very informative. The battery on my HP Chromebook 14 is a little different and I can't seem to locate where it connects to the motherboard. There is a black plastic/tape-like rectangle that may be covering it, but I'm afraid to take it off without checking first?
Yes, it does. I think it's just a black piece of plastic casing covering the battery connection. I'll try to remove it tomorrow & see how it goes. Thanks for your help! And keep up the great videos!
@@PC_Monkey I was thinking of that, but I carefully lifted up the tape and under it was the battery connector. Thanks to your videos and quick response, I was able to fix it!! Beyond grateful! 😊
Got a ASUS C423NA from 2121, do you need to open the chromebook first to find the battery number or all of them for a C423NA would work? There's no video's that tell you where the battery number is looking at the back of the chromebook? I can't believe not a single place in Peterborough, ON fixes this, not Best Buy, or Staples, Walmart doesn't even sell the batteries, bizarre.
Ya, I usually have to find computer parts on Ebay, Amazon, etc. Yes, you should open the computer to look. If you need to replace the battery, you will have to open it up anyway.
I usually get most of my used parts on Ebay, Amazon, etc. There should be a model number on your current battery. You can search for that. Or you can search for the model computer you have and the word 'battery'. Searching for the model number or part number for the actual battery will be more accurate though :)
a lot of the screws are very difficult to unscrew, there was one under one of the bottom pads and then one with the battery inside. I couldn't get them out and ended up stripping them, using a small screwdriver. Also the battery looks different in the inside. It was the same laptop but maybe since it's been 3 years the battery is different? still burned out easy enough though.

Hi I spilt water on my chromebook, I turned it off right after and turn it upside down and after that I wiped it down qnd it turned back on and was acting fine so I didn't think anything of it and turn it back off but now its unresponsive. the power light is on but when I plug it in the charging light doesn't turn on I've tried holding the refresh and power button for 10 seconds but the power light still doesn't turn off and when I plug it in the charging light doesn't turn on and I don't know what to do.
