Thanks sooo much! My son's school charges $10 to fix their Chromebooks! He totally drained the Chromebook down to zero. After opening it and disconnecting it like you showed in your video, it started right up! (Previously the power light wouldn't even go on no matter what we did.) Not he can stop using his phone for school! You really saved the day! Thanks again!

Thank you SO MUCH! You saved the day! My daughter's Chromebook wouldn't power on. We tried multiple different chargers and the charging light wouldn't illuminate. I was beyond frustrated. I followed the first part of your video, disconnected the battery and held the power button down for a minute. Once I reconnected the battery the monitor turned on a the Chrome login screen appeared! The battery showed very low so I plugged it in and the charging light lit right up! Thank you so much! The Chromebook is only 2 years old but is out of warranty. You saved us!

My sons Chromebook turned off when he plugged it in, couldn't get it to turn on or have the light come on at all when plugged on. I got the battery unplugged and plugged in the charger and it came on. Thankfully he can temporarily use it like this till I can order a new battery. Saved me $$ and having to have my computer stolen from my kid lol Thank you!

@@PC_Monkey I have a Samsung Chromebook plus with a blinking red light. I disconnected the battery and plugged it in and the red light still blinks with the battery disconnected

@@davidb6823 Did you perform the test as seen here? Remove battery, unplug charger, hold power button down for 1 minute then put charger back, leaving battery out?

Simply unplugging the battery and putting it back in helped. Turns out it wasn’t the charger or the battery gone bad, just that my son had dropped his chromebook and it came lose. Thanks so much for your video! I was worried it died completely

OH MY GOD THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH. School starts ons the 14 of September for me and my chromebook didn't want to charge and I was scared that cause it was a school chromebook. Out of all the videos and channels I have searched for this is the one that works. I am definitely subscribing

Glad I found your video, Chrome book suddenly died, no charge lite, nothing. Ended up doing the battery disconnect and power button trick. Came back to life like nothing ever happened. Good advice on the back screws, mine had one hiding under a foot pad

Thank you so much! I appreciate your help. Mine had a low battery white blinking light but wouldn’t charge. I checked the plug connection and what d you know it was the three prong connection that wasn’t pushed all the way in. As soon as you said to check the plug I did and viola! The light in my charge turned orange! I’ve never been so happy that it worked! So now I can hold on to the new battery I bought from Amazon and also another chrome book that I gave to my son. All this time it was a loose connection on the plug. Truly grateful to you! Thanks again!

This was so helpful!! I use a chrome book to work from home and unplugging the battery gave me a great workaround until I can take my laptop in to get the battery replaced next week.

This what I get for skimping out instead of getting a macbook
Lol as is MacBooks don’t have issues lol

i can’t take the back off of my laptop it’s like not coming off and all of the screws are undone
What is the brand and full model number of your computer?
Try removing the the 4 rubber tabs. Normally screws underneath them

Erin thompson check the warenty sticker and other stickers on the bottom. There should be a screw under it

Thank you...when I followed these steps, I got power without the battery...I plugged the battery in and plug it in and everything started up....with the battery plugged in and its charging.

If your computer is not turning on at all, you are on the correct first troubleshooting video. Have you tried the steps here yet?

@@ivyy6613 The battery is most likely inside your computer. The cord plugs into the computer and should be easily unplugged. You would get into the Chromebook as shown here. If you would like a more specific video on your exact model, I would need the exact model number of your Chromebook.

My acer chromebook 14 always shows 1% charge with the wall plug connected and shuts off immediately when I disconnect the plug. Would your vid fix that problem?
My first guess would be a bad battery. You should replace that. If you want to make sure its not your charger, you can try testing it as shown here; ruclips.net/video/YBhsVHideGE/видео.html

Thank you so much. Asus Chromebook, it was working fine since we got it. I took a break from using it for maybe a month, and when I came back nothing. When I plugged it in the LED would show white, then red and then go off. Astounded I was having any issue with it because it has been so reliable for a long time. Followed your tips and got it to turn on with battery unplugged. I actually had tried the hard reset previously and was curious if unplugging and reconnecting the battery might have helped so I reconnected it and plugged in charger now I have a charging light and it started right up! Excellent video!

This got my Samsung chromebook working. I unplugged the battery, and held the power button for a minute. and then it all worked. You are the best!

bought a used motherboard. it came in the mail today. i put it in and everything works fine. so yeah, i think i cooked the old one but good.

Omg it worked ! I have an acer laptop and it’s never had any problems ( never has it been dropped nor damaged in some sort of liquid ). Today I was watching RUclips and it suddenly shut off . It would not charge , and the screen would stay completely black . After watching this video and following the steps , it turned on automatically. Thank you so much !

I saw this video and honestly thought - 'unplugging the battery and holding down the power button for a minute?! THAT won't work!' But, since I was desperate, I tried it - and BEHOLD!!! WHAT?!?! The charging light worked again and the computer turned right on! Thank you SO much!!!

Omg my daughter samsung chromebook didn't want to charge yesterday after we sheltered in place (crazy Florida storm decided to turn up a tornado was 13miles away but was heading our way) after that it just wasn't charging. I was thinking she damaged the charging port and was looking up what I could do. Found your video and her computer is working again. Maybe the battery to motherboard cable was loose, but didn't seem like it was. This worked I will have one happy girl when she gets home. Thank you so much!.
