I like both games but MW 2019 just has this gritty feel that I really like. Both games’ color palettes are suited to their story, 2019 is dark and disturbing while MW2 is more action-adventure oriented.
I was trying to figure out why some maps looked colder than the others and then I just realized it. A really cool detail is that you can see the smoke coming off of the barrels after shooting in maps that would have a colder temperature, but in maps with hotter temperature, the smoke doesn't show as much because the temperatures match. It really shows the research they put into their games!!
@Joseph Stalin Last Beta did fixed some small graphical bugs and sounds. It may not completely change the game but there are very small things that can be fixed. Though I understand how you feel about a so called "beta" being the finished game
A lot of these effects have been downgraded but let’s not forget this is a beta and many effects might’ve been removed in order to make the beta run better, be more streamlined and be a smaller download size. Wait till the full games comes out to judge all the effects.

Honestly the color pallette for the 2019 game looks better in my opinion. Little more muted but it just fits better with the game they're trying to create.
MW2019 still looks amazing. MW2022 might have potential since its still on beta and will be polished when the official version comes out, but its not in the same high tier as MW2019.

Just reinforces the fact that MW 2019 is an amazing game with such attention to detail. Almost beyond the capabilities of the PS4 Pro at the time of launch! Just remember the fan spooling up almost as soon as the game loaded 😂

No it not it's just The Lightning has Changed so it looks Washed out but this isn't true because MW19 was more Gritty and too Dark sometimes and had a lack of Colors in MW2 they Changed that to make everything look more Vibrant but no Otherwise Upon Closer Insepection and Certain Areas of the map On close Visual it's Definitely an Upgrade In Textures.
This is a neat video that I happened to stumble on. Also interesting that I stopped playing MWII before Christmas 22, and I'm still playing MW19. It doesn't even feel like they were made by the same people.
The thing I noticed is that MW2019 had better and crispier sounds for every possible situation the shell casings could hit the ground like concrete ,dirt, plastic surfaces etc. Hope they fix that by the time of the full release.
I really like the heat wave effect they incorporated into the muzzle flash. It almost look like the screen shakes a little when you fire. I never thought about how much "oomph" that adds to the gunplay until I saw it implemented here.

The explosions look so much better I had to drop the playback speed to .25 just to enjoy it. I can honestly say this beta is actually making me excited. These last 2 betas honestly perfectly showed how disappointing the games were gonna be, I hated both Cold War and VG betas, yet I still bought the games and that opinion still stands today. That being said, the MWII beta feels ALOT more complete than the last 2 ever did in their beta stage. It definitely feels like a whole new game with all the changes they made Edit: Also have to take into consideration that the game is still most likely gonna have some changes upon its release, who knows whether its for the better or for worse. I really hate that you can't cancel a reload anymore for some reason so hopefully that's one of the changes along with the unnecessary sleeve flapping that can definitely be toned down a bit.
The no reload cancel thing has pros and cons. Plus u can just have a good secondary gun. If you accidentally cancel or have to move it just finishes the reload instead of restarting. Plus it has helped me make better decisions on pushing lol

As much as I love the beta, especially considering how much I hated Mw'19; there's still a lot for me to take into consideration before deciding to buy a copy. 1. What're all the guns like? Getting to use a good portion of them already is nice, but with some of them having zero customization options in the Beta; it makes it very hard for me to get a guage on some of them. 2. Is the TTK going to be reworked? Sometimes it's incredibly fast, and sometimes it's incredibly slow regardless of range, weapon, attachments etc etc. 3. Campaign. I fucking loved Mw'19's Campaign, so I'm very excited to play this one, but is it worth buying just to play the Campaign and only the MP and Spec Ops occasionally? I won't be touching Warzone 2, that's a promise. My love for this Beta may not translate over into the full MP experience. And I have several more to address, but this comment would stretch further than your Mom. I might give it a couple of months after release this time. I don't want a repeat of Mw'19 where I quit it halfway through Season 1 and never looked back.

the sounds on mw 2 are just amazing to listen to, they're so crisp and clear. And some of the little details and animations, you can tell activision and infinity ward had a blast making this game

Bear in mind one game has had 3 whole years to fix and add details and the othe us in a beta stage and hasn't had a full game cycle so alot of details may be missing for the sense of the beta. (Only reason why I mention it is cause a ton of ppl have slated the game for bugs and other quality of life issues and itself not even out yet)
I'm very slow to play COD games. I haven't played the newest yet but just finished WW2 and started MW and I'm pretty amazed at how good the graphics are. Both were PS4 titles and they look stunning. It's going to be amazing to see what 5 years from now looks like.
having played some of the beta now myself, The FTAC DMR AR15 variant actually does have the sound for firemode selection, it's just the baseline M4 that doesn't.
If the game has missions like the "contingency" & "the only easy, day was yesterday" which were iconic, I'm happy. The new gunsmith looks like something I'd spent hours "sinking my teeth into", so to speak!!!

MW 19 was the biggest redeeming COD I've played in years. I am stoked about this one now because it looks like they only upgraded MW19 than completely rehash it like my all time favorite series Battlefield did the last 2 games.. BFV was ok.
MW won’t die soon with me. Even before it’s released we knew we were in for greatness and how timeless it looks on the PS4. Just judging by its Beta, MW Beta gave me hope for its future but I’m disappointed with MWll. I expected a similar aesthetic but improvements from the first game. CW wasn’t as good as MW but it was still a good game judging by its Beta, can’t say the same for MWll. I hope if there’s a part 3 that one would do justice to it.
Mw2 seems like a mix of black ops and MW from the operator sounds to the toony vibe . Will wait for full game to release before judging though. Game play for sure is fun.
Some things are indistinguishable, some things are better on one title than the other. It really seems like a similar game that is ever so slightly different in little ways. I think I’ll reserve my judgment when the full game comes out and do a side-by-side.

Infinity Ward doesn't *have* to spend all this time and money on footprints, realistic particle effects, vehicle suspensions, water physics, glass breaking, etc. But it does. And that's part of what makes Modern Warfare the best COD series.

Just played some MW II (beta) and then some MW 2019. I have to say, MW 2019 is much better! Movement, TTK , visibility, user interface, gunsmith, weapon graphics... things like that
About time the internet grew up and chose the dark color pallet of MW2019 instead of the happy meal world that is MW2022 colors of happiness on a battlefield.
Will have to wait and see of course but from what I remember the last few years from beta to release graphics and sounds are often quite a bit different (usually with more details and improvements) from beta to release. Some of these sound for MWII may just not be in yet.

It may sound weird, but to me the normal running animation feels very weird. Lifting the gun barrel seems odd to me. I feel like MW2019 normal running animation is better
Haven't seen this mentioned before, thank God I'm not the only one. This new running animation drives me crazy, it's like running with the gun towards your head instead of the ground. Gives "old game" vibes, maybe because it's similar to the old MW2. Major turn off for me.

Especially when you set the graphics quality options to ultra or maximum possible to improve visual fidelity. I have played COD:MW2 Open Beta on my 8-9 years old custom gaming PC (only graphics card upgraded to Sapphire Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 570 8GB, because the older one broke) and 1440p 144Hz monitor and to be honest my overall experience was pretty good. I was averaging around 60FPS+- depending on the map and game mode after I have optimised the graphics settings to custom balanced. The gameplay and gunplay itself was quite fun, but to be honest not as amazing as I was hoping it to be, as it felt kind of similar to COD:MW(2019) but without that nice flow. Maybe it is because I didn't get used to the new mechanics/engine, idk... The slide speed is definitely slower and not as smooth as it used to be, which is kind of sad. And I had some packet bursts and some server issues, but I guess that is expected when a lot of people jump onto the servers at the same time (DDOS). XD Overall, I think that this game has potential and feels nice in general, but the price is too steep in my opinion. I remember when games generally used to cost half the price and be boxed for the same price... ;)
They're probably gonna fix the fire selector sounds soon, also like someone else said, the sleeve flapping is too intense. The flapping is good, just a little heavier
I really enjoyed the MW2 beta. The gunplay feels great, the weight of movement feels right. My biggest complaint still with CoD is the lack of impact on environment from gunplay. I really hope in the next year or 2 they will build it from the ground up for next gen hardware. The previous gen being included is really holding back the series & I really want to see what a next gen game could be

Mw2 sounds a lot boomier, on high quality earphones it's definetly superior sounding, because you can feel the impact of the gun and things around you

I think the tick sound for switching firing modes on the M4 in MWII is bugged because you can hear it on every other weapon.
I use the AK47 primarily in MW2019 and I can hear the tick when switching to single and back into automatic everytime!

having played some of the beta now myself, The FTAC DMR AR15 variant actually does have the sound for firemode selection, it's just the baseline M4 that doesn't.
The devs either forgot to code it in or it's a bug
The water effects look amazing the little sparkles and such

overall i liked mw 2 and there is no doubt,the campaign is going to be crazy.
If the game has missions like the "contingency" & "the only easy, day was yesterday" which were iconic, I'm happy. The new gunsmith looks like something I'd spent hours "sinking my teeth into", so to speak!!!
They did pretty well on both games. Honestly they made MW19 so good they really didnt had many improvements on MW22 :)))

MW 19 was the biggest redeeming COD I've played in years. I am stoked about this one now because it looks like they only upgraded MW19 than completely rehash it like my all time favorite series Battlefield did the last 2 games.. BFV was ok.
MW won’t die soon with me. Even before it’s released we knew we were in for greatness and how timeless it looks on the PS4. Just judging by its Beta, MW Beta gave me hope for its future but I’m disappointed with MWll. I expected a similar aesthetic but improvements from the first game. CW wasn’t as good as MW but it was still a good game judging by its Beta, can’t say the same for MWll. I hope if there’s a part 3 that one would do justice to it.

Mw2 seems like a mix of black ops and MW from the operator sounds to the toony vibe . Will wait for full game to release before judging though. Game play for sure is fun.

Some things are indistinguishable, some things are better on one title than the other. It really seems like a similar game that is ever so slightly different in little ways. I think I’ll reserve my judgment when the full game comes out and do a side-by-side.

I’m impressed and never realized all the little things that make this game great.
Infinity Ward doesn't *have* to spend all this time and money on footprints, realistic particle effects, vehicle suspensions, water physics, glass breaking, etc. But it does. And that's part of what makes Modern Warfare the best COD series.

Just played some MW II (beta) and then some MW 2019. I have to say, MW 2019 is much better! Movement, TTK , visibility, user interface, gunsmith, weapon graphics... things like that
About time the internet grew up and chose the dark color pallet of MW2019 instead of the happy meal world that is MW2022 colors of happiness on a battlefield.
Will have to wait and see of course but from what I remember the last few years from beta to release graphics and sounds are often quite a bit different (usually with more details and improvements) from beta to release. Some of these sound for MWII may just not be in yet.
I hope so. MWII looks a bit murky rn & the environmental assets don't really pop up. but I've seen videos comparing MW19 beta to release graphics & it's def improved

Haven't seen this mentioned before, thank God I'm not the only one. This new running animation drives me crazy, it's like running with the gun towards your head instead of the ground. Gives "old game" vibes, maybe because it's similar to the old MW2. Major turn off for me.
It’s an okay game but IMO MW is better. At least MW Beta gave me hope for its future. This one is too cartoony and feels old, giving me CW vibes.

Especially when you set the graphics quality options to ultra or maximum possible to improve visual fidelity. I have played COD:MW2 Open Beta on my 8-9 years old custom gaming PC (only graphics card upgraded to Sapphire Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 570 8GB, because the older one broke) and 1440p 144Hz monitor and to be honest my overall experience was pretty good. I was averaging around 60FPS+- depending on the map and game mode after I have optimised the graphics settings to custom balanced. The gameplay and gunplay itself was quite fun, but to be honest not as amazing as I was hoping it to be, as it felt kind of similar to COD:MW(2019) but without that nice flow. Maybe it is because I didn't get used to the new mechanics/engine, idk... The slide speed is definitely slower and not as smooth as it used to be, which is kind of sad. And I had some packet bursts and some server issues, but I guess that is expected when a lot of people jump onto the servers at the same time (DDOS). XD Overall, I think that this game has potential and feels nice in general, but the price is too steep in my opinion. I remember when games generally used to cost half the price and be boxed for the same price... ;)

They're probably gonna fix the fire selector sounds soon, also like someone else said, the sleeve flapping is too intense. The flapping is good, just a little heavier

I really enjoyed the MW2 beta. The gunplay feels great, the weight of movement feels right. My biggest complaint still with CoD is the lack of impact on environment from gunplay. I really hope in the next year or 2 they will build it from the ground up for next gen hardware. The previous gen being included is really holding back the series & I really want to see what a next gen game could be

The 2019 has a way more realistic color palette and also some crisper textures. But the newer one looks more finished and cohesive graphics wise tho if that makes sense
Personally, both games look fantastic and relatively the same. I think the big changes people are feeling is more based around mechanics than graphics
