It is no hygiene to eat out of the wood spoon and put the rest back into the pot. To try food you should be using another spoon and never put it back into the pot after you use it.

Put your onion in cold water in a glass and let sit for ten minutes. Take it out and pat dry it. Your eyes won't water then. ❤
