This legit made me laugh because every support main knows how we legit take blame for every single thing that goes wrong. Tank not playing corners and standing in open fire like a huge target? Your fault because not enough healing! DPS venturing out halfway across the board FAR from where you can heal? Your fault for not healing enough! The game legit won't allow you to heal more because there's no possible way to pocket someone harder than you are? Doesn't matter you're still trash because you're not healing enough! 🙄
I was playing mercy in a match earlier and our reaper went into the middle of the enemy team to ult but died before they could do it then yelled at me for not going for the res so i went for it and got yelled at by the reaper for dying because i was in the middle of the enemy team while the rest of my team was keeping their distance. So id say the #1 tip for mercy players would be quit whatever job you’re working now, go to school for game development, get hired by blizzard and make mercy completely immune to damage so that you can res teammates who mess up their ult no matter what! Hope this helps!! ❤ edit: autocorrect

Its my personal belief that all overwatch players should try and be a support main for a small period of time. Not a duo, not as a "Healer", but as a support. Because I occasionally get god-like supports in my games, and I feel like I'm the only one who appreciates them in our team, simply because they're so amazing at their hero. I'm a support main, and I would lay down my life for my other support. The reason people still play support in the hellish balance of OW2 is because they get to know they CARRIED the game on their backs. The average player won't tell they have a good support because 1. They don't have the developed cognitive function to play, let alone think about their team, or 2. The game was so easy you think it was luck. Good supports and tanks are literally sent from heaven idc what ANY mainstream DPS main nimrod says about it being easy or anything. It forces you to play thinking about the match, thinking about the entire team, and it's one of the hardest mindsets to develop in OW. Sure, some DPS main can pick up a Moira and get out of silver, but support can be one of the most frustrating yet satisfying roles to play.
I agree. I think everyone should step in the shoes of other roles and see just how hard / different it can be, and how good coordination from different roles goes a long way.
It's definitely the most satisfying role. I tend to like support in most games because it forces you to think about other aspects than just your aim (of which mine is just okay). I honestly think it's a good idea for the IGL in games to be either the support for that very reason. You're normally playing further back so you can see way more, and because you have to constantly be taking stock of the field just to survive, a good support will typically have good game sense.
@@Kintaku yeah, I agree. My aim is average (unless we're talking about me cranking up friendly aim assist on ana 💀) but the reason Im a better than average dps player is because of the gamesense I've developed from playing support. Of course, I sometimes struggle with not being agressive enough, but I'm a well rounded player that gives my team opportunities. Im not a very aggresive tank, but I basically utilize most tanks as a super-support (good ability management + ults carry teams regardless of role, and tanks are busted with their abilities) like bubbles on zarya, etc. Having a support mindset really brings up a players skill level tbh developed game sense is a game changer

So yesterday I played Brig...healed for 16k, had 25 eliminations, and 30 assists, and only 3 deaths. We lost the match and it was my apparently my fault. Why? Because, "Brig sucks. You should have picked Mercy!" 🙄
I wish Brig had a bigger shield to hide behind but yeah... just stick close to her! She's a support, she heals people while fighting and most people don't even realize she's doing it! Meanwhile when I play a team with a badass Brig player it's so frustrating getting an opponent close to zero health then everyone around the girl with the tiny shield keeps regenerating health...

One thing that is helping me climb competitive as support is actually less healing and more providing combat utility and playing aggressive myself. Obviously this is situational and this doesn't mean leaving your teammates on critical but sitting and healing waiting for your dps and tank to do all the damage for you is sometimes less affective than just getting some picks and participating in the fighting. Even just picking 1 person can can mitigate 200-1800 damage to your team making you have to do less healing.
I had 10k dmg and 11k heals as Moira, I was the one creating all the openings to push as a team and even topfragged. We still lost of course and it was my fault(?) no one voted for me either :I

Exactly. Supports job is legit all those, damage boost (Mercy), anti-nade (Ana), speed and booping off the map (Lucio), invulnerability (Baptiste and Kiriko) and def giving some DPS.
