Asia has a huge dive meta now and very few hogs, that's why brig shines there more than here in europe, but she's still underrated for sure
meanwhile people in EU are constantly requesting orisa to be played every game :))
this guy has no struggle to play brig against hog orisa and also me as brig main gm player I have no problem playing against them. I personally do swap whjen enermy play heavy poke or ramatra but unlike most people think brig is not bad against most hitscan hero orisa and hog
@@jws6463 I think Brig really struggles against Mercy pocketed dps so she's hard to play in this meta. If they don't have a Mercy then she's golden.
@@user-et3xn2jm1u actually its depend on how ur team play but i dont think brig+dps combo is lot worse then mercy pocketed dps if u only think about open space longrange damage trades then yes mercy is better but also to dps to open angle throgh the side corner brig with dps is better than mercy also when its widow battle brig is better at peeling and also help widow duel by shield is pretty big

When Brig damages an enemy, her passive ability "inspire" activates, healing in an area around her. The swinging clears visual clutter and gives you the chance of hitting any random enemies that might appear in front of you, so it's become a habit of brig players👍
A lot of people have been asking why Hyunb keeps swinging the flail while running around, so I'll be pinning this here.
Hopefully with this hog/orisa nerf, we'll be able to see more dive/brig counterplay like this 👍

Are you referring to in terms of recognition (being publicly known), PC, console, OWL, or something else?
I would actually love to see their brig in person if they are truly #1 with brig as a brig player myself, I personally feel like they play somewhat of a similar brig playstyle than I have and to hear them being claimed as #1, I would like to see that challenge 👀 (and no, I'm not saying this to imply they are garbage compared to me or any trash talk, just sportsmanship talking)
I'm a pretty great brig main but maybe I could learn something from them if I had the opportunity to play with them personally

In terms of personal assessment among PC players.
You must stay alive as Brig to max her benefit. It’s a completely different way of playing but she’s mad fun and when things go well it’s most satisfying out of all supports.
It's the plan for all heroes but especially for supports
I love having duels with her. You get so much cc and sustain that a dps that isn't able to burst you down (or even some tanks) just get screwed if they're on their own. (and if you play around health packs well)

@@darkstalkerknight63 Tbf she is pretty good rn. They had to buff her since she was the only thing keeping hog in check and they are going to most likely nerf her back to a reasonable state once the hog rework comes out.

Same here, I’m a NA player and I love brig so much and I think she is amazing if you’d know how to play her. Very different way to play her then any healer in my eyes. But a lot of NA players do t think this cause they have egos from comp using basic characters

honestly, I've been playing her too. I started when I was play Zen and played with an insane brig. She and I stuck together and basically became unkillable, and we easily won. That game changed my thinking on brig, she is insane in the right conditions with the right players. Although I've only had a single good brig in the hundreds of ow2 games, so they are very rare to come across.

Brig is so much fun! I'm not even high rank, but used to be diamond Rein in ow1 so it scratches a similar itch. I always felt people underestimate just how far you can travel with her shield dash (you can also glitch up on surfaces you can't stand on and fly either really far or high). Mightyy which is top 500 junker queen EU also says he likes playing with a good Brig. When hog gets nerfed we might just see junker queen with Brig. Will be interesting to see your Junker Queen video, I think people severely underestimate her as well. She has huge damage potential in short bursts and a lot of sustain *until* she gets hit by CC or anti. I think I like Genji following up with blade after I ult with Queen most, since he can utilize the chaos that Junker Queen ult can create

But she's a defensive support she defends ppl, high ground, low ground, the point honestly maybe defending other support is boring to you which is fine but her healing is great but her ult isn't
@Anthony Mercado It’s AoE steady heals. It’s not the same as being pumped up by Ana/Bap shots or Moira combos but it does the trick when disabling enemies etc. Depends on the comp you run

Junker queen war cry and rally is the funnest thing to stack making everyone tanks
I really enjoy playing brig even before her buff. I can't explain why but she is somehow fun to play with for me. One thing I really just hate about her is she only has 200 HP compared to other brawl characters that has 250 HP. She literally has to go upclose ang fight and her 300HP shield is easily destroyed though it really brings down on how you position yourself but I just hate that she is somewhat squishy.
By balancing inspire uptime, playing cover/corners, and utilizing whipshot range, you become quite tanky and are effective at denying and creating space.
Shield basically makes you a 500 Hp unit
She’s effectively 225 because of her armor

I'm pretty sure brig is one of the most, if not the, survivable support character.
Brig is my highest winrate as support, yet i hear every other game that i should Switch off if we want to win.
Everyone is a meta bot, pay no attention to it. As long as your being constructive of your own play, you will win games regardless what your team wants you to pick

I've always seen Brig as a weird mix of all 3 classes. She has a shield and... Well, better HP than a lot of non-tank characters, she has decent damage and a passive about damage, she has decent mobility, and she can heal. It's super hard to not just balance that, but to use each of those aspects to their fullest. People who main Brig (and don't play like there's a cat on their keyboard) have my respect lol

Great video and gameplay! It’d be interesting to see how they deal with heroes that counter brig better rather than winston who is probably the best tank for brig to play against. From the top brig’s I’ve seen, someone like holyshiftkid is super defensive and passive which I don’t mind but can’t be very difficult to get value, whereas someone like violet is a lot more aggressive and, although it’s easier to get value that way, I don’t like that play style as much, I feel like there are other support heroes who could be better for that. However, this player sort of combines the two, their decision making is next to perfect and they play both very defensive and also aggressive depending on the situation. I like this a lot more than the brig gameplay I’ve seen previously and clearly it’s effective but, like I said, I’d like to see how they deal with different team comps, I think that’d be interesting.

I only started playing Overwatch 3 days ago, but I straight up fell in love with her play style almost immediately. I'm glad to see a video that confirms how I thought she was meant to be played, as I have been playing very similarly to the guy in the vid. ( Granted, its at a much lower level) I'm still a ways off from being comfortable running ranked, but I've had many really good quick play matches while using her. XD

You have some of the best ow commentary that’s I’ve seen by far.
So I've been messing around with this playstyle in NA. MMR is GM range usually play against a mix of masters, GM and top 500. Fundamentals for the gameplay still apply even if results change.
Essentially what's in the video is how it works except going more aggressive is encouraged especially with tanks going for picks constantly. You can use your movment to go dps the backline and get out. It can really work against snipers too; you end up taking high ground from them, safely scouting them or getting a pick on them. The playstyle ends up being like DPS Moria/off-tank hybrid. However this only works if your other support can stay alive enough or your DPS takes advantage of the space and attention you're taking. Not really sure how well it'll catch in NA, maybe in a Junkerqueen meta.
One really interesting match up is Zen. It ends up being a really complex 1v1 that ends up feeling more like a fighting game. You have to use shield to avoid shots and discord while getting in close. But you don't want to get in too close because he can kick you out of range and kill you after. So you end up wanting to stay in a specific range and pay attention to your spacing. You can also use your shield bash to counter the kick boop but you end up not getting the damage and you don't have an escape. He can also kill you if you just go for straight for the combo while he's shooting you so it's better to use your shield a bit and hit between shots if you can. Still it's fairly easy if you get the drop on him.
Yeah like any other squishy, it’s better to whip until they are in combo KO range. Forcing a melee usually gets you hit in the face and dead
I also feel like Brig is more effective in Asia because of how much more Winston is played. I don’t usually see Winston in NA unless there is a Widow popping off

I think what sucks is that playing Brig requires that the rest of your team are half competent. As someone in low elo, I never feel I can play Brig or even Lucio most of the time because people are taking too much damage and require constant attention. That being said, this video has given me some ideas about how to prevent damage from being done in the first place by preventing engages and displacing pushes. Maybe something to think about.
But u can carry with her own kit more, do kills and dmg and punish squishies and even tanks that are out of position
@@christinaazarian6803 I feel you man. The problem with low elo is that people still see support as "healers" rather than supporting characters.
Yeah in grandmaster and master people hide behind cover and every player there can keep themselves alive for some time. But in the lower levels people literally "face tank" the damage. I really like Brig, because i am a Reinhard main. But since people often run into open enemy fire a lot of the other healers are simply easier to play. But Brig is still very fun to play.
@@Navinor Well, not just cover, but they understand the concept of map control, and don't let the opposing team get into better positioning. Like giving up high ground for free, or not punishing players that are severely out of position. Low elo is the same as taking 2 action figures and smashing them together as hard as you can to see which one breaks first.

my friend’s a brig main since her rework, and as a zen they both sync very well together (except healing allies) and they roll together
This was very interesting to watch as someone who enjoys playing brig.
I started one tricking brig like 8-10 days ago, I used to be a big brig player on console but when I came to pc I didn’t like her. I’ve been watching and YouTubing lots of brig content. HSK is also an insane brig player (#1 on NA ladder now that violet doesn’t play as much) and I’ve been watching his unranked to gm. In the last 10 days I’ve climbed 5 STD just by shifting my positioning and prioritizing not dying. This is also my favorite map to play as brig. Awesome content my dude
I've been playing brig in overwatch 2 even in first season. I used her to disrupt sombras sneaking in the backline by constantly using my primary fire whenever I had nothing to do better. I still use her whenever I don't know what to play really because I have fun with her and she can be a threat to divers/flankers. I think people just doesn't realized how good brig is even after the changes made from Ow1 to Ow2
She is just mathematically not a good pick in the current meta.

I would love to see a Season 9 update video on Brig play, as always people are divided right now on if Brig is the best support, or needs balancing help lol. My personal frustration would be melee not receiving proportional damage to ranged heros' buff and not being able to combo heros anymore, they require too many more hits. So it would be super interesting to see a pros take on her right now! I wonder if they play more defensively now, more scared to take any engagement or duel (I personally am since it is way more easy to die now if you do not play perfectly), or relatively the same as before.

Couple OW2 streamers have been saying this which is Brig is a highly underrated hero that has a pretty good kit but it’s just the current meta aka hog doesn’t suit Brig. I enjoy playing brig a lot on unranked but on ranked I’m in Silver which more often than not the other support is a dps Moira or Zen meaning I forced to play another support with more healing. I honestly really hopeful to be able to use brig more when hog gets nerfed.

You need to know when to switch off brig too, I seen far too many Brigs get rolled and not switch off. Like if the enemy team using long range, yeah.
the 50 shield buff is huge when you realize 25 hp was enough to push brig into "unstoppable tank" territory. she wont be unstoppable, but its a really nifty buff
It's definitely not unstoppable. But I lost count of the number of times I died because SB had .5 sec on cd as my shield broke. It lets you get into/out of engagements with far more reliability!

I have always said brig is good just not her meta. But if played well she is insane at protecting your teammates from dives which is why this vod showed her effectiveness against winton.

Very good analysis of this gameplay. I only have one question, why is holding The High Ground on that map so important. I'm a pretty low ranked player and it seems like every time my team tries to hold that High Ground position the enemy team ends up just completely running past us
The high ground completely surrounds the point as well as the entry to the point. Especially the forward part of the high ground on point A, if the opponents were to take control of it, they would have sightlines directly to point while having cover at the same time which is not a situation you want to set up.
In general though, high ground is extremely important in Overwatch not only for vision, but it gives cover and the team in control of the high ground is able to dictate when and where the fight happens.
Her inspire heal output is around fifteen per second. But what I'm wondering is if her health goes through shields
Inspire only applies to allies who are within the range at the moment inspire is activated. If the ally is behind the shield when it's procced, it doesn't apply to them, but they can get the inspire, then move past the barrier and the effect will still work.

Ah I still remember that bug can make brig went flying if use bash and wip shot together in ow1, the good old days.
As support main I haven't played Brig for a looong time. So for the past 2 weeks I only play Brig and I can say that she is super underrated. If you know how to play her I easily do 10-18k healing in a game and even outheal Lucios and Mercys. Actually for me her healing is much better than Lucio's since not only you have the same kit as him (on ability hit or mele hit) but you also have kinda instant heal with her ability. The only problem is her Shield bash and that as of now it is only good for mobility. Man I miss the stun. For me if they put a ministun (even for 0.5 or something) she will be back at top tier levels. Why would I have this ability if I can't stop Reaper's ultimate or stop the Tracer behind me. I know Blizzard hate stuns in OW2 but even it is so low just to cancel ability she will be much more useful.
I agree that stuns would be so nice for her but the reason they removed so many stuns is exactly why you want them added

@@drew8476 sure but if you can't cancel ult or channeling ability that also makes the enemy unstoppable. Who can save you from Reaper's ult for example? If your Zen (if you have Zen in your team) doesn't have ult or is too slow with the reacton or you do not have DVA who knows what he is doing it is basically unstoppable. Thats where McCree and Brig's stuns come in handy.
As a Brig Main, I agree with everything said in this video.
Initially when I played brig I felt that she was too squishy. But I learned it was because of how impatient and tank-like I was playing. Turns out she's an actual unkillable raid boss
great analysis but for now I'll keep sticking to kiriko, a good ana/ kiriko can win the game without the enemy getting even a single point, while with brigitte you have to suffice with sometimes losing a point

I feel like her hp pack E could use a slight buff, like reduced cooldown or increased capacity. I would love to play brig but I feel like she gets countered easily for long-range maps and dps
I think the intention is to keep Brig as a specialist rather than a generalist. But do you think she should be given more buffs than the ones on the newest patch?
Finally a good Brig player! I watch even top players in OW2 play Brig and they're out of their element. It's funny because it feels like you have to onetrick the hero to be good enough to get value, even though she's a """"low skill hero"""". Soooo fun to play too!

I honestly don't think she needs it after the hog nerfs. She definitely has a place in the roster against dive even without a slow on her shield bash. As long as dive is viable I think brig will also be viable, it's just that people are still learning to play around the less common heroes 👍

Honestly this dude is crazy. Other than some owl players I can’t name anyone who looks this good on brig. Like a skewed and such but that list runs dry fairly quickly.

As a Top500 Brig i can say she literally destroys Ball. Shield dash can remove all inertion of ball and thats a complete game changer, her whip can also stop him from diving in a seccond or just push him out, fast brig's cd makes ball literally useless against her. using her abilities in right moments u can protect ur team from ball solo that makes fights almost 5v4 with no tank. The only hard counter to Brig is Pharah and Echo but Tracer and Widow can also be annoying. For a new Brig players i'd recommend to remember that she isnt tank and has only 200hp, few accurate shots can send u to respawn so play as Heal/Control and try to kill only when u see alone/1 shot enemy.
One more thing: Ur shield can often save ur mates from death so dont forget to protect them in situation like when Mercy is resing or if someone got in trap, etc.
So similar to my playstyle... I'm little more agressive. I like the attack more than the defense.

U should see what I did last night dude… the 50 health they added to brig is different… I’m telling you you can be in the fight a lot more and get away from orissa or anybody and u can take a lot of squishies one on one
