Where's Lil' Wayne's guitar riff from Lollipop?
+kebiwoni LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
+kebiwoni Its in the trash. Where it belongs. hahah
+kebiwoni wasn't it a solo?
blood 99 See? He is so mind-blowing, so way ahead of his time that we can't explain what he did in that song. Nobody knows exactly what he was playing. Mind-blowing.
kebiwoni Right you know, he played it without a pick just WOW
Rest easy brother. You were an awesome guitarist and I bet you were a great guy.
He died?
Holy shit. That's terrible. This is one of the first videos i saved on my youtube account. I was just going through them for the first time in forever, and came to the comments for this one and found this. Weird. He fucking rocked on the guitar.
@@williamt6102 OD on heroin which he became addicted to around the time of this video.
Hi.
Yes it's very sorry to conform that metalrr5 died. I am a personal friend of him, i often come to this youtube clip to remind how it was being with him. A super great and caring dude, i really miss him in my life.
What how!!?? He died
RIP Brother you inspired alot of people to play guitar 💔
I think that one of the saddest things ever is coming to a video of a guy that basically reignited my passion for playing guitar with the metal covers he used to do on movies soundtracks as I went back to the terminator video a few months back hoping that he left RUclips because he started his life and doing good, only to find out from a recommended video that he died. my heart truly aches.
Rock in Peace brother, I hope heavens and it’s talents welcome you to the halls of jams with open arms 💔
MOTHERFUCKING KILLRBUCKEYE. I love that dude! Wish he'd come back. Nice work my friend!
I thought the exact same thing!
+Javier Maza same here!
haha threw me off for a sec, that was a great addition
that guy was a fucking legend
OG legend for 12 year old me
still listening in 2020. RIP you beautiful soul
How do people not understand that the riffs he chose are his opinion so they can have a different one
DUDE, why didn't you have that one song from that one band I like, on a top 30 riffs video?
(every person in the comments).
Great selection :)
Well I would be fine if he did 30 riffs from 2000s but he said top 30 so he brought this upon him self
He also said in his opinion.
Sam well the first song he played was from my favourite band
There was no lil Wayne
I officially LOVE you as a guitarist and a person; literally every single song/band on here is one I've heard and liked before.... aside from the fact you played all riffs flawlessly
I wish people would realize Muse has other great guitar riffs other than Plug In Baby. Don't get me wrong, Plug In Baby is fantastic, and OoS is one of my favorite albums...I just wish people would recognize songs like New Born or Hysteria or City of Delusion.
+xSmythosx Citizen Erased!!
+Gabriel Hole-Jones video was uploaded in 2013. Drones came out when again??......
ojosh08989 Fair enough lol.
+Gabriel Hole-Jones reapers pre chorus, all of the solo and the outro could all make it to be honest hahaha
+xSmythosx no one is looking over new born, hysteria or city of delusion. All three of those are considered by most to be some of their best songs. But of those three songs, new born is the only one with a particularly extraordinary riff. Hysteria is all about the bass line (though the riff is still great) and city of delusion is practically entirely made of chords, with no distinguishable riff. In terms of difficulty, plug in baby is muse's best riff, though obviously songs like new born, knights of cydonia, unnatural selection and exo-politics also have excellent riffs.
I have to pay respects. I first saw this video when I was a little kid and now I’m about to get my masters degree. This was one of those videos that inspired me to pick up a guitar. You helped completely alter the course of my life and I cannot thank you enough. Rest in peace man
where's avenged sevenfold?!?!?!?!
yes! Crossroads or Critical Acclaim
dude you have to do a top 10 avenged best songs :')))
Stop
fuck them, fuck you
explain to me please how a7x is bad sir? and i dont want to hear your opinion. nothing along the lines of "M. Shadows's voice is whiny" or that you dont like Syn's guitar tone. If you can't present facts then your argument means absolutely nothing. If you can't point out technical reasons as to why they suck then your point means nothing.
Kings of leon, but no Avenged Sevenfold? What the fuck is this shit?
Darkhalo314 Just because it's not your genre, doesn't mean it's not a better riff.
I wanted to show to my girlfriend what was my favorite guitar video from youtube..
Can't believe that he's not here anymore , i didn't know that ..
Rest and peace Bro and thanks for this
F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X is still a hit to this day
Ikr !
I was really looking out for Blood and Thunder
Where's A7x?
Where the fuck is Avenged Sevenfold - Beast And The Harlot or Unholy Confessions?
MrShadowflasher Unholy Confessions are in a similar video of mine :) /watch?v=YqwUblf1IIw
I saw the list and waz about to say tht lolz
Joseph Nino yeah they are
please elaborate
Joseph Nino they love other men and anal intercourse
LOVED that you included Killrbuckeye. So gutting that we don't see him anymore. Great vid man.
I can’t believe he died, that’s so odd.... like I’m watching this person but he no longer exists
7 years and it's still relevant
Cant sleep tonight and your music brought some sense of peace to my night. thank you.
I'm so glad to see Killswitch, MCR and Green Day on here. A lot of guitarists I talk to today put them down a ton and it's nice to see them getting some recognition
I like the diveristy!
Killerbuckeye was very unexpected but it totally belongs in the list. Sweet transitions from riff to rifff too!
ik this video is insanely old, but I just wanna thank you bro, you’re one of the prime reasons I started playing :)
Sadly he’s gone now
OMGGG HE PUT SILVERSTEIN!
Shouldn't the words "My" and "Favorite" replace the word "Top"?????
+Sean K Who cares, of course its going to be opinion based. What did you expect?
Yeah, but "who cares?" (how ironic)
+Sean K "my favorite guitar riffs of the 2000s" wouldn't get 1,150,101 views.. thats why :)
+metalrr5 Telling it like it is
+Sean K u got schooled bitch
You've got good taste. And holy shit, I had COMPLETELY forgotten about Lostprophets. Now there's a throwback.
The crusade by trivium is killer! Nice job
Anytime I play 'Plug in baby' people are like, "Dude! How do you remember all of that?!"
I'm like, "Duuuude, you've obviously never seen an Animals As Leaders Tab before 😐"
Rest In Peace.
I would like to state that Pachelbel's Canon (What canon rock was) was estimated as being written near 1694.
You do know that that it said "Canon Rock - JerryC", not "Canon - Pachelbel". Do you hear palm muting and artificial harmonics in the original song ?
Good job man.. That was a pretty good list. Of course everyone's taste in music is different so you're not going to be able to please everyone. There were a few on there I didn't care for, but that is me. Even though I didn't care for the songs, the riffs were still worthy of the list.
Omg, i watch this video million times, and i have never think he's gonna take his own life. Rest in peace, bro.
No Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria?
Are you using Guitar Rig 5 here?
Some great songs in this tbf. Don't usually like these sort of videos, but this one was awesome, man!
R.I.P. Bro...
I can't believe you put Angels and Airwaves' The Adventure but you didn't play some riff from Blink-182 or Box Car Racer :I
+Julian C. just made a video with songs from the top of my head. only blink-182 riff i can think of that is cooler is M&Ms. but the adventure is more epic
+metalrr5 M+M not m&m :P
M+m's is from 1995, some cool riffs from Blink from the 2000's are Anthem Part 2, First Date, The Rock Show, Stay Together for the Kids (beautiful), Please Take Me Home, Feeling This, Down
If you like the riff from m+m's you'll like the riff from Natives(2011), and also listen Pathetic (1997) who has a amazing riff (obviously the 2 songs are from Blink)
glad I'm not the only one who still listens to kings of Leon these days.
How about Headstrong by Trapt? That song's fucking catchy as hell and is one of the best known guitar rifts in the 2000s.
xiKnowWhereULivex rifts
xiKnowWhereULivex Because trapt is shit
xiKnowWhereULivex rifts...
It’s in drop b too
WHY DOES BLACK PARADE ALWAYS POP UP EVERYWHERE DON'T DO THIS TO ME
Heh
Nicholas Morrow YeS THANK YOU FOR THE VENOM SHOULD BE HERE INSTEAD OF WTTBP
I love how much variety there is in this
The lack of Foo Fighters in this video is absolutely disturbing.
No Mastodon? Blood and Thunder or ending riff from Seabeast should be there, anyway it's good list.
Agreed.
Yeah wtf
That KillrBuckEye Recognition, you just made my fucking night lmao
The Psychosocial riff has to be a joke. I honestly cannot take that one seriously as being one of the best of the 2000's.
***** the intro riff is obviously a better riff, but the breakdown (which i played here) fit well after the previous riff, and in the original song it's an epic moment
metalrr5 understood. Makes a lot more sense now.
***** "Some of the best guitar riffs of the 00s in my opinion"
"in my opinion"
"MY OPINION"
"MY"
Instant like for Killrbuckeye alone xD
Agreed. What ever happened to that guy? #legend
No idea man. Hopefully he's doing alright.....and is still rocking away. xD
he said he quit youtube because he became a dad but his last son was born 5 years ago so you'd think he'd have time to make music again.. what's sad is that his views and subs for a metal guitarist in 2007 was unheard of, so if he kept making content he could make a very nice living off it
i like the fact that u put in alot of different genres.
well done
not a single riff by Avenged Sevenfold....Alright then lol
they're in my "30 great modern metal riffs" video (it sucks tho) and i have recorded an instrumental of unholy confessions
right! He includes trivium and bullet, which makes sense but not to have avenged in this is odd with those inclusions.
great video, where did you get those backing tracks?
Brad Wetmore That’s cause they came out in 1809
No sevenfold?
Unholy Confessions deserved to be in that list!
+Lander Diego Beaskoetxea or any of their songs
I'm not a huge sevenfold fold fan but I agree it should've been on here. Top 10 even.
Was thinking the same thing
Obviously not. They are shit and gates is overrated
Playing all the shit I grew up listening to!!! Thanks man. A lot of these bands have been forgotten but you are showing people these awesome bands are still there.
Slither by Velvet Revolver is a very good Drop-D riff too IMO
Psychosocial in the top 30 riffs? lol, that wasn't even a riff, it was a Breakdown.
eventho it was a breakdown, does not mean it's not a riff. in breakdowns, we got riffs.
Emil Cindahl
But that's not THAT good to be in a top. It's just a simple breakdown. In that breakdown there are no riffs.
Simplicity doesn't mean it's bad. Complexity doesn't make a riff good.
Herbolife05 I've never said it's bad. I just said it's not enough for being in a top.
In YOUR opinion..if you bothered to read the description, you'd see why Psychosocial is in here........
the transition from 6-7 is why youve earned my sub lol
okay not hating seriously dude amazing video but what the hell happened to seven nation army?
A good question...
That's more of a bass riff don't you think
Scout Slayer no it's guitar just down am octave you can look it up
+The Meme Ok sorry I didn't know I play drums 😂
Scout Slayer that's okay I just love when someone tries to make me feel stupid when I know for a fact that I'm right. I'm not saying you were doing that but I thought you were
What about Tool, Metallica, Interpol, Mastodon, silverchair, Godsmack...
"2000s"
Grammar Nazi "Riffs of bands born on 2000s", or "riffs of the 2000s"?
***** I don't know
What riffs would you include?
Grammar Nazi You should get to know the other bands. Tool is kinda classic and has a very good instrumental quality. Interpol has a british rock style, with tons of good guitar and bass riffs.
if these are the top, we're in trouble lol'
RIP 4 and 5
Mastodon?
The transition to BYOB, then the mellowness of My Heroine leading to My Sweet Shadow destroys my spine from the shivers. Good Job
The editing in this video is really good!
Sorry but you have a Jackson Randy Rhoads with emg and you play muse and kings of Leon ? Are you kidding me?
maybe you should check out one of my other videos if you wanna know why i got a rhoads. "Are you kidding me?" oh hi carl
chris georgakopoulos that's what i said!!!! Why put Emg's in the most iconic guitar. I have the exact same guitar. serial number is 060999.I left the original JB's in them. sounds amazing.
No A7x, White Stripes, Megadeth, 5FPD, Behemoth, Ghost, Disturbed, Nonpoint, Alice in Chains, All That Remains, In this Moment, Testament, Exodus, Death Angel, Metallica, Slayer, Volbeat, Linkin Park, The Congas, Train, etc?
MAKE A TOP 150
You have too much free time if you can list all of them and it's a subjective list so don't worry too much.
Text to speech maybe?
The only Alice in Chains album to come out in the 2000s isn't particularly iconic or popular (though it is damn good)
5fdp sucks as well as half of the other bands you listed.
I found soooo many great songs from this video 👍
WHITE WHALE HOLY GRAIL
I THINK THAT SOMEONE IS TRYING TO KILL ME
Angels and airwaves but no Blink182 😂
Ikr
+Josue what the fuck are you saying bro?
yeah, just one of the most influential bands ever...mkay?
I was expecting Natives or something but The Adventure is a great riff too. Maybe because most of the best blink riffs in the 00s were written by Tom and he didn't want to use the same guitarist twice
Found so many new songs in this; remembered so many I forgot about. Nice list.
1, 2, 3, then 6. lol
Then 5 after six lol
Then 6 again wtf lmao
Deftones? Meshuggah? Cannibal corpse? Gojira? The smashing pumpkins?
Mario Utreras you're fucking lit
Welp, since I knew a few of these songs already; thanks for introducing to 19 amazing songs.
God job but where is metallica, avenged sevenfold, bvb and falling in reverse?
Pd: sorry if my english is bad
Pd 2: saludos desde chile :P
+supernicox100 i made a video of metallica's best clean riffs and solos recently:) also avenged sevenfold is in my "30 great modern metal riffs" video
no breakin benjamin
Awesome Jackson
I hate that you made Iron Maiden sound emo, otherwise nice video.
thanks, yeah it wasnt the best choice. i'd pick rainmaker if i did it again
for me it was green day.... other wise, keep it up.
beginning to watch this like ,yea pretty okay and then came August burns red well I that passed my expectations of this video all the way
thanks man, working on a "10 great august burns red riffs" video right now
+metalrr5 Hey Thanks for the reply ,can't wait to hear it :)
IN FLAMES, awesome video man!!!
Unholy confessions? No? K
That riff is amazing
Parker Hetzel lol they didnt steal that riff, i honestly think they sound nothing alike and back to the point, avenged is one of the biggest bands in the past 10 years and to not put their most popular riff in is a little shocking
I know right?
Are y
Connor Potasse sure its just an opening riff but its still their most iconic riff besides maybe beast and the harlot or afterlife
where was avenged sevenfold?
He had to make room for Wheatus and Modest Mouse
The metalcore scene wasn't even around that time.
No, their just mainstream, so they're sound is gonna be generic.
Parker Hetzel I really don't hear any similarities between A7X and the bands you listed, no more than every other metal band ever.
Parker Hetzel Pretty much all of them got all the avenged, metallica, megadeth, king diamond and diamond head cds
i love you
this list is AMAZING
I recognize so much stuff
God bless you
Man I'm not going to give you a hard time about your list but why in the hell do you hold your V like that lol? That just seems so damn uncomfortable.
i only used to do it for videos, i've always held it like i do in my newest videos
+metalrr5 I saw it and Got pretty confused
+Henrique Rosa Jackson RR
Uncomfortable? Are you one of those players that twist and bend their wrists like idiots playing horizontally, instead of using a natural angle (used in this video)? I bet you are, you little shit. Now you know that all you've been doing is wrong and you're fucking up your left hand. Congratulations.
Before losing your shit on freaking youtube comments I suggest you take a look at how I held my guitar on 4 year old videos (30 great modern metal riffs e.g).
Holding it horizontally has always been a stylistic choice because you get more room (in this case, the screen playing the music videos) when doing it.
Seven Nation Army?
Blood and Thunder?
Osa the Great they are from the 2000s
Honestly, Seven Nation Army is a shitty riff
If this is the most memorable riff of the 2000's to you, you probably need to listen to more music.
Dude huge kudos for putting killerbuckeye in there. Love that guy. Wish he was still making videos.
you had AVA but no blink im done.
No Foo Fighters?
Man, right when you dropped Cannon I just was blown away.
Tool...
instead of green day's american idiot i pick holiday or boulevard of broken dreams, their riffs are better, same to psychosocial i prefer before i forget ........ and you forget seven nation army (maybe the riff of the decade, you can hear it in any stadium in europe in football matches)
holy fuck u put killrbuckeye in this, veteran youtube guitar player
No Mastodon riffs? Leviathan was the best album of 2000's and Lost Prophets shouldn't get a mention due to the singer being a kiddy fiddler.
Yassss muse for #1!!!!!!!!
I enjoyed the smooth transitions throughout. Well done!
how through the fire and flames is not on the list?
Scrolled way too deep for this
Mister cs go such an over rated song. You probably don't know anything about metal
Jacob im not saying i perfectly know metal, but the fact that is in guitar hero and its actually pretty famous made me wondering why it wasnt in the list. i personally like it but its sobjective
It's on guitar hero mainly for the solos and not for the riffs, which I can't even remember one of them
No White Stripes love?
Ikr
I know!
Thank you for turning me onto Mew, they're now my favorite band!
Not a very good decade for riffs, was it
Through the Fire and Flames isn't on here. If you played guitar hero (which I didn't I learned about DF on my own) you loved that song.
This was like takign a trip down nostalgia lane. Awesome job, man!
No dragonforce?
