Thanks my dude , shinning some light on every kind of 90's riff. It's sad to see people only remember grunge when they talk about the 90's . Heavy metal and punk were also great at that time.
I was desperately looking for this one riff that I've been playing for years, but I forgot the name. Out of this desperation I started looking for top 90s riff videos and here I am happily playing CKY - 96 Quite Bitter Beings. Thanks! You got good taste.
Burz Tur He didnt say it was ranked though, just because he put there "number 1" before playing the riff doesnt mean its his number one favorite riff of the 90s. Its just like a check list of 10 of his favorite riffs, ive seen lists that re non rank but yet still list down in the descending order.
Daniel Souza Same, hell even from one band would be hard. 90s was the last great decade of music IMO. Soooooooo many amazing bands and artists. Hell I love Nirvana, Op Ivy, Biggy, Ice Cube, Eminem, Deftones, AIC, Manson...there's just so many influential artists from every genre and year to year from that decade. 2000-2018 there's not much I can say that really took the world by storm. In "rock" music at least. Yeah sure the whole emo phase but nobody is looking back at those bands 25 years from now praising em or listing them on any top lists. Honestly Pop, Mainstream shit and Rap have controlled the radio and music scene for a decade now, hell since 50 cent really. Rock music took a major backseat and a lot of the 90s bands just weren't producing the same quality of albums by any means.
great playing, and it's obvious that you listen to a very diverse collection of music. That is fantastic! Thank you very much for posting these great videos!
Soon there will be tool my friend that and greta van fleets pretty good also gotta give a listen to a teeny bit of avenged sevenfold disturbed and Arctic monkeys have some pretty amazing songs
Lars Marten høk I was thinking about doing a black and gold build, however, I don't like the maple look with the colors, I'd much more prefer ebony or rosewood. They actually do fretboards out of some type of plastic now too
Mate, I actually paused the vid @ 1:39 to read through some comments only to stumble upon yours. Maybe we should team up and compete at the 2020 olympics in the 'have the same synchronized thoughts 5 months later' category?
The black Ibanez with gold hardware is not normally my style of guitar at all, but my god that thing is gorgeous! Really great playing, thanks for putting all of this together (and yes I know I’m like a year late).
Thanks for taking the time to do this. Was a lot of fun to watch. For me, as a teenager and guitar student in the 90's, my personal list probably would have been (in no particular order): 1. Living Colour - Cult of Personality 2. Enter Sandman - Metallica 3. Rusty Cage - Soundgarden 4. Under the Bridge - RHCP 5. Cherub Rock or Today - Smashing Pumpkins 6. Possum Kingdom - Toadies 7. Far Behind - Candlebox 8. Come As You Are - Nirvana 9. Say It Ain't So - Weezer 10. Plush - STP

I often forget that Thunderstruck was not an 80s song. Feels timeless.
I've been assuming late 70s, early 80s since, apparently right when it came out.
that's pretty much the opposite of timeless.
Almost it came out in 1990 but Angus and Malcolm never did change with the times they stuck with their roots. No smells like nirvana in their songs at all.
This guys very talented
Really? I didnt know :)
The intro sounds like a kickstart my hearth of motley crüe

Would have honestly like to see Hammer smashed face that's one of the first riffs I think of when I think 90s
Quality > Quantity
That Alive riff wasn't quality though
I was angry that enter sandman was only number 2
Then I heard cowboys from hell
Im too
Pantera for life
Yeet
I'm broken I put at number one
Enter Sandman is for normies
On Heart Shaped Box I was waiting for that heavy chorus.
GoatBoy 14 heavy? Lol
@@tosh5376 I mean fan...
Same
GoatBoy 14 same haha
That CKY riff is amazing and I never see it in top 10s. Props to you, sir.
Some Alice in Chains and some Soundgarden should definitely be in this list
We Die Young for Alice In Chains. Probably Spoonman for Soundgarden
and cherub rock
It is his list tho, I woulda put some in, more so the Chili Peppers
Also RATM
But then how would we get the musical Genius of Green Day and blur?
Man, I love how relaxed this dude's picking technique is.
I reckon you can get a part 2 and 3 out of the 90s, mate. Hint.
Your probably right, but I'd probably make another 80s video before i did another 90s
you would get a full vid of the 80s with metallica songs
Wink wink nudge nudge
Cowboys from Hell picked with an upstroke. That's the way dude!
Not only is it great to see you back, but putting Tornado of Souls in there shows you are a man of impeccable taste as well as a great guitarist!

I'm so glad you didn't put smells like teen spirit
Why?
Its overrated and overplayed, making people tired of it
@@rusherdasher8826 its only over played cuz its good
Rusher Dasher doesn’t make it a bad riff...
Rusher Dasher its still good
Scrolling through comments, looking for the guy with the song and the minute. Am I the only one ?
CFH ! Dimebag would smile if he can see you picked his riff as the best :D
Burz Tur im not sure if this was ranked
Lee Torry You cleary got written : 1. Pantera - CFH so its ranked at first place =)

Lee Torry but we all know Dime was best in what he done
Burz Tur No, one of the best? possibly. But definitely not "the" best.
CKY made my day. Thank u bro!
Yeah that brought back some good memories. I idolized the Jackass cast when I was a kid lol. Especially the CKY movies crew.
If he played it just a teeny bit better I'd be happy. Cky are amazing
Same, wasn't expecting that one
Me too man, dude brightened up my day
Yeah me tho
I absolutely love playing when I come around on drums it’s so fun.
Where Alice In Chains
You can do a top ten just on Jerry Cantrell alone.
You’re so right
Amen
Not his favorite
I don’t really care for Alice In Chains either
There are so many good riffs from the 90s I think I wouldn't be able to pick 10

This was a great start to a 90s riff list. A 80s 90s and 2000s list would be awesome
Do now top 10 riffs from the 2010s

Skatoony maybe some foo fighters as well
Green day and blink tbh

Good lord that black and gold Ibanez looks fucking sexy.

Get a black rg550 and replace the hardware to gold
Lars Marten høk I was thinking about doing a black and gold build, however, I don't like the maple look with the colors, I'd much more prefer ebony or rosewood. They actually do fretboards out of some type of plastic now too
Preston And Madi the maple goes well with the gold in my opinion
Preston And Madi also if its your build arent you free to choose, but these rgs also come in rosewood
One of the best sound quality out there in RUclips!
