I often forget that Thunderstruck was not an 80s song. Feels timeless.
I've been assuming late 70s, early 80s since, apparently right when it came out.
that's pretty much the opposite of timeless.
Almost it came out in 1990 but Angus and Malcolm never did change with the times they stuck with their roots. No smells like nirvana in their songs at all.
This guys very talented
Really? I didnt know :)
Quality > Quantity
That Alive riff wasn't quality though
The intro sounds like a kickstart my hearth of motley crüe
Exactly
i think it might by the same whammy bar trick
I think it sounds more like wild side by Motley Crue
Aaron Cupido Sosa Kick ass dude!
Aaron Cupido Sosa yeah
0:14 blur- song 2
0:38 Lenny Kravitz - Are you gonna go my way
1:04 Pearl Jam - Alive
1:35 Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box
2:06 Green Day - When I Come Around
2:33 CKY - 97 Quite Bitter Beings
3:05 Megadeth - Tornado of Souls
3:27 ACDC - Thunderstruck
4:00 Metallica - Enter Sandman
5:17 Pantera - Cowboys from Hell
Ozan Canca Thank You
Thanks dude!🤘
96* Quite Bitter Beings
heyt turkıyem oy turkıyem
Would have honestly like to see Hammer smashed face that's one of the first riffs I think of when I think 90s
I was angry that enter sandman was only number 2
Then I heard cowboys from hell
Im too
Pantera for life
Yeet
I'm broken I put at number one
Enter Sandman is for normies
Cowboys from Hell picked with an upstroke. That's the way dude!
On Heart Shaped Box I was waiting for that heavy chorus.
GoatBoy 14 heavy? Lol
@@tosh5376 I mean fan...
Same
GoatBoy 14 same haha
@@tosh5376 It’s pretty heavy
Some Alice in Chains and some Soundgarden should definitely be in this list
We Die Young for Alice In Chains. Probably Spoonman for Soundgarden
and cherub rock
It is his list tho, I woulda put some in, more so the Chili Peppers
Also RATM
But then how would we get the musical Genius of Green Day and blur?
Scrolling through comments, looking for the guy with the song and the minute. Am I the only one ?
That CKY riff is amazing and I never see it in top 10s. Props to you, sir.
Man, I love how relaxed this dude's picking technique is.
I reckon you can get a part 2 and 3 out of the 90s, mate. Hint.
Your probably right, but I'd probably make another 80s video before i did another 90s
you would get a full vid of the 80s with metallica songs
Wink wink nudge nudge
I'm so glad you didn't put smells like teen spirit
Why?
Its overrated and overplayed, making people tired of it
@@rusherdasher8826 its only over played cuz its good
Rusher Dasher doesn’t make it a bad riff...
Rusher Dasher its still good
I absolutely love playing when I come around on drums it’s so fun.
Thanks my dude , shinning some light on every kind of 90's riff. It's sad to see people only remember grunge when they talk about the 90's . Heavy metal and punk were also great at that time.
Not only is it great to see you back, but putting Tornado of Souls in there shows you are a man of impeccable taste as well as a great guitarist!
I was desperately looking for this one riff that I've been playing for years, but I forgot the name. Out of this desperation I started looking for top 90s riff videos and here I am happily playing CKY - 96 Quite Bitter Beings. Thanks! You got good taste.
CFH ! Dimebag would smile if he can see you picked his riff as the best :D
Burz Tur im not sure if this was ranked
Lee Torry You cleary got written : 1. Pantera - CFH so its ranked at first place =)
Burz Tur He didnt say it was ranked though, just because he put there "number 1" before playing the riff doesnt mean its his number one favorite riff of the 90s. Its just like a check list of 10 of his favorite riffs, ive seen lists that re non rank but yet still list down in the descending order.
Lee Torry but we all know Dime was best in what he done
Burz Tur No, one of the best? possibly. But definitely not "the" best.
That CKY song gave me instant Jackass nostalgia
Fuckinnn SAAMMEE omg I remember blaring it so loud my ears would ring as a kid.
thanks for performing those epic riffs. really enjoy to hear 90s music
There are so many good riffs from the 90s I think I wouldn't be able to pick 10
Daniel Souza Same, hell even from one band would be hard. 90s was the last great decade of music IMO. Soooooooo many amazing bands and artists. Hell I love Nirvana, Op Ivy, Biggy, Ice Cube, Eminem, Deftones, AIC, Manson...there's just so many influential artists from every genre and year to year from that decade. 2000-2018 there's not much I can say that really took the world by storm. In "rock" music at least. Yeah sure the whole emo phase but nobody is looking back at those bands 25 years from now praising em or listing them on any top lists. Honestly Pop, Mainstream shit and Rap have controlled the radio and music scene for a decade now, hell since 50 cent really. Rock music took a major backseat and a lot of the 90s bands just weren't producing the same quality of albums by any means.
great playing, and it's obvious that you listen to a very diverse collection of music. That is fantastic! Thank you very much for posting these great videos!
Love the different angles. Nice work!
What I really like is you didn’t just play the riffs but you’ve gone to the effort to try and emulate the sound with effects or settings. Great job!
During Heart Shaped Box, all I could think about was picking that bit of skin off of his middle finger near the nail.
Mate, I actually paused the vid @ 1:39 to read through some comments only to stumble upon yours. Maybe we should team up and compete at the 2020 olympics in the 'have the same synchronized thoughts 5 months later' category?
same, looking for thos comment and finally found it
Great guitar tones, loved it
Great pics for the riffs awesome play
honestly an absolute perfect list. Great job!
Finally good to see ya back
CKY made my day. Thank u bro!
Yeah that brought back some good memories. I idolized the Jackass cast when I was a kid lol. Especially the CKY movies crew.
If he played it just a teeny bit better I'd be happy. Cky are amazing
Same, wasn't expecting that one
Me too man, dude brightened up my day
Yeah me tho
Thankyou for adding the equipment list. Really helpful to have
Quite Bitter Beings is definitely my favorite and i never heard it before watching this video... so thank you for making this! 🙏🏻
Was super surprised and super stoked to see CKY on this list def wasn’t expecting that
Good lord that black and gold Ibanez looks fucking sexy.
Thought the same
Get a black rg550 and replace the hardware to gold
Lars Marten høk I was thinking about doing a black and gold build, however, I don't like the maple look with the colors, I'd much more prefer ebony or rosewood. They actually do fretboards out of some type of plastic now too
Preston And Madi the maple goes well with the gold in my opinion
Preston And Madi also if its your build arent you free to choose, but these rgs also come in rosewood
Duuudeee thank you!! been watching over your vids to find some good riffs to learn. totally forgot about 96 quite bitter beings! just got so stoked to learn
Brilliant selection. Keep up the great work bro.
Sir!!! Fukin minty work on this one!
That CKY song is prob one the most fun to play
I remember that song on Tony hawk pro skate 3
This was a great start to a 90s riff list. A 80s 90s and 2000s list would be awesome
So pleased with number 1! Great pick
The King is back 🎸🎸🎸
Damn! Wasn't expecting to see CKY one here. And thank you for not choosing Teen Spirit for Nirvana. Heart Shaped Box is a much better song imho
Dylan Hutto CKY 👌🤘🤘
Come as you are is better imo, but heart shaped box is great too
Lounge act
Negative Creep is the best Nirvana song in My opinion!
Drain you
Really hope to see more, keep up the good work man.👌
Awesome video, man! I'm really liking how you included "Tornado of Souls" in there, too. Marty Friedman is one of my absolute favorite players. Keep it up! 🤘
that 96 quite bitter being made me hit that like button bro
Very tasty my dude. This was in my recommended and glad it was subbed for sure!
Nice compilations and instrument arsenal, congrats! Keep it up!
One of the best sound quality out there in RUclips!
In the beginning, I thought "This is going somewhere wrong.". But in the end, you got me. Nice vid!
I was expecting pantera, you didnt dissapointed me
Love me some cemetery gates
Great video man, I appreciate this content.
Love all of your guitars!
Where Alice In Chains
You can do a top ten just on Jerry Cantrell alone.
You’re so right
Amen
Not his favorite
I don’t really care for Alice In Chains either
You played Thunder Struck correctly, you just earned a sub
Austin Moser You just wrote it wrong, you lose a sub
Sökö Wildout ?
Thunderstruck is played with only hammer ons and pull offs it was literally the only song he played wrong lol
Danes World It’s alternate picked, listen to the original video. The scratchiness will let you know
You gave me some ideas to learn, thank man
All easy and cool riffs awesome video
Do now top 10 riffs from the 2010s
Impossible right?
@『КІЯA』 that's right, AcDc is timeless, it hasn't changed a thing since the 70s
Soon there will be tool my friend that and greta van fleets pretty good also gotta give a listen to a teeny bit of avenged sevenfold disturbed and Arctic monkeys have some pretty amazing songs
Skatoony maybe some foo fighters as well
Green day and blink tbh
Psycho - Muse
Oh yeah and all Pantera riffs!
Cowboys from Hell rocks. Just like I'm Broken, 5 Minutes Alone and Where You Come From.
Good job, nice RG!
Kick ass video bro. Loved seeing the BC Rich! I was waiting on you to bust out a warlock.
I was surprised that Thunderstruck was made in the 90s (please don't punch me)
Me too always assumed 80's!
1981-1990: 80's
*lightly taps your face with my fist*
Same
Vinz puch puch puch

Viktor Nanos Lmfao!!!
Wow what a nice video.... It is very veryy good video, perfect combination & well trimmed &edited 👍🏻👍🏻 i think this Chanel will get a lot of popularity.... Keep it
I looooooooovvveeee CKY, thank you for showing some love for that riff!
Alive by Pearl Jam sounded exact! Great job!!
I had a comment saying it was "butchered" the other day 🤔
Thanks
It sounded awesome! My band plays that song because of how great it is and I loved seeing it on this list!!
@@guitarist6494 I think that is some vibrato missing. A little bit of the timing as well. I know is a little tricky intro that of Alive. I must say your playing sounds very clean to me.
2:33 Las aventuras de Roberto Manfinfla
Happy to hear when i come around
This is perfect i can see how you play some of the riffs so i can just copy it now this is spicy
Man in the box - Alice In Chains is a top 10 for me

@@Draftspike chill

It seemed way of timing when he played it though
Great video!
Nice playing dude😝🎸🤘
For a second there I was worried there wouldn't be Pantera...
you played Enter Sandman like a f***ing boss!
Saint Noodles if boss is wrong
.j
Your Mockingbird looks so good.🤘

2:33 "LAS NUEVAS AVENTURAS DE ROBERTO MANFINFLA"
Si weon CTM dije esa wea apenas lo escuché
You're so underrated its unfair
So fucking true ! This talented guy deserves way more views.
i also think so
I think it’s kinda weird he liked these comments
Jacob Allen and he doesn't like your coment...
Laza dm I just think it’s kinda weird to like a comment talking about how underrated you are. I like him, I just think it’s weird
I like this top 10 series. You could also make a part 2 with 10 more of the same category.
Love how you played Sandman the right way.

- Sorry for the massive drought of uploads my friends, a lot has been happening between my last video and now
- “Dude are you serious!? No Rage Against The Machine!!??" "No Machine Head!?” I know, but as the end-screen implies there are more than just 10 great 90’s and these are just the 10 I chose.
- After making this video, I have come to realise the 90’s was actually a great era for some killer sounding riffs
- ...I just realised I forgot to put the Dragon Ball in the background 😱😫
- If you enjoyed the video, please leave a like and subscribe if your not, it helps me out more than you can imagine
Thanks for watching

Guitarist6494 cool riffs from 90’s...
plz make some songs and riffs for intermediate guitarists...#rocknroll
Most of the riffs i've included, even in previous videos, are around the intermediate level. Maybe some are a bit harder and some are bit easier but most (across all my videos) are around an intermediate level
"Dude are you serious!? No Korn!!??"
Guitarist6494 How about a "Top 10 Sickest Breakdowns Ever(in your opinion)"?

Great equitment with great guitarist...👍👍👍
Great flashback man.
No painkiller? Hipster
ShagStars Productions the Death version?
Still my favorite Judas Priest song to date.
No he probably doesn't know how to play it, that is a pretty difficult song to learn
I feel ya Brad mine too, with The Sentinel and Night Crawler coming in right behind it.
The main riff ain't that hard to play
Who else at the end of enter sandman thought smells like teen spirit was number 1
Nice list dude, Cowboys from hell at #1 was surprisingly fresh and I like it. Give that man a thumb up
Wowa this video kind of changed my opinion about bc rich and ibanez, great tones
I would’ve put man in the box in there
I was thinking the same !
