Thank you so much for this. I've crocheted for years, but just found out about this pom pom maker today! You are a wonderful teacher and I loved your tutorial. I am so in awe of those who take time to help others in their hobbies. And, another vote for the windchimes. Who doesn't love windchimes! They're peaceful and serene.
GREAT video!!!! Thank you. I just bought the same pom pom maker yesterday and spent the evening making pom poms☺️. I found that if I use 2 strands of yarn it takes me half the time to wind. Also, I used 1 strand brown, 1 strand beige on some (some are solid colored) ........I'm making bunnies for Easter for my grandbabies!!!! One Pom Pom is small, the other is larger....I'll tie them together. The bunnies will be an assortment of colors. I'll be sewing on beaded eyes, a nose, ears, and whiskers. So anxious to do the first one to see how it turns out!!!! Looking forward to watching more videos from you!!!!
Thank you so much for showing me how to make pompoms. I went right out and ordered the four different sizes of Clover pompom makers. Being a very frugal crafter, using left over material from one project to use on another, I figured out that you can actually use the fluff from shaping your pompom to stuff small projects that don't require a lot of stuffing (i.e. felt Christmas ornaments). Try it, you will love it. Thanks again. :)
Thanks so much for the demo on how to actually open and use the pom-pom. My poms turned fabulous! I found that the poms turn out nicer with a few more wraps in the middle than at the edges.
I remember as a little girl, my Grandma teaching me to knit. She also taught me how to make pom pom's by wrapping the yarn around a few of my fingers then TRYING to tie the middle with one hand..HAHAHA I JUST literally bought a medium and large pom pom maker. Who ever thinks of "inventing" all these clever gadgets??? I LOVE THEM!
Thanks so much for this! So much better than the very short instructions on the package. I love the gentle sound of the wind chimes in the background too.
Thank you for a SUPERB tutorial, I'll definitely be buying one of these - so much easier than circles of cardboard! And the gentle windchimes in the background are far nicer than some background music on other videos.
I have purchased the clover pom pom making devices and made two before watching this video. The key is in the wrapping and of course sharp skizzers. My first one is pathetic, the second better, big hopes the third will be perfect. You're a good teacher! Thank you and best of luck to all is Australia. Peace be with you.
OMG 😱😱😱, these are so darn cute!!! This is my first time here and I believe I’ve found my newest hobby/obsession.... 😱💕😍💕! For a novice Pom Pom maker like me, I found your instructions easy to follow, concise, and the video itself was clear and bright. Also, to the people who gave this video a 👎🏽, stop being haters!!! Once again, THANK YOU 🙏 so much!!!
Great video. I have same pom pom maker but your video showed me I wasn't doing enough wraps. Now filling with more wraps and now have fluffy poms. I make baby items for charity and usualy add poms to the little hats.
I purchased my Clover Pom Pom makers on Amazon and needed a video to show me how to use them and found yours. THANK YOU!! I will get to work on my pom poms now :)
Awesome tutorial and example! Lovely wind chimes and did not distract from watching you complete your pompom! Thank you so much for your time in teaching us this wonderful activity. I am going to make a rug by using your examples!!
This is GREAT!! I bought one of these a few years ago and the directions are in a foreign language! I could not for the life of me figure out how to use this. Haha. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!! 😁🎉❤❤
love your video the first one went fantastic. the second one was evidently not tied tight enough as it fell apart piece by piece. the third one I my yarn broke as I was tightening it. was ready to cry!!!! so then I did another and this time I doubled the yarn before tieing it and it worked splendidly! thanks so much for your great vidios.
HappyBerry Crochet: Laura, Thank you so much for sharing you're video! I had forgotten how to make the Pom Pom's when I knit my beanie hats. You make it look easy enough that I can now make them myself again. Oh... and Please don't close your windows! I love the sound of the Wind Chimes in the background! It's so relaxing when you feel stressed like I do. Thanks again you truly are a inspirational lady!
I truly enjoyed your tutorial as well as your wind chimes. LOL Between the wind chimes and the snipping of the straggly bits I found myself a bit mesmerized. Also, the initial snipping of the yarn while in the pompon maker is a rather gratifying sound. Thank you for making such a good tutorial and showing how to make a truly fluffy pompom.
Thank you, HappyBerry! I knit a lot of hats and scarves to which I add pom-poms. I have a Clover Pom-Pom maker, but I've been using it all wrong. I wrapped far too little yarn. Well done on a clear and simple video.
thank you for a great video! some of the vids out there dont explain that key fact you did at the beginning whereby you must make sure the two creamy bits line up so you are working over two, for ages we couldnt grasp how to do these vids but it turns out we were only wrapping over one part of each side if that makes sense. THANK YOU!!!! XX
Laura, thank you for a lovely, gentle, peaceful craft tutorial, with natural and excellent commentary (not a hundred words per second being excitedly shrieked and upspeaked at me nor a musical repeat soundtrack either 🤭) this is great. I shall go and look up this pom pom maker and check out your other vids! Best wishes to you 🤗❤
What a terrific tutorial! When I bought the pom pom tool it made sense...then I got home with it and I chickened out lol Thank u for the vid...now I can make the rug I intended to without fear of wasting yarn!
thanks you. I got this pompom make with no instructions. It was assembled so I didn't realize you could separate it to let pom pom go. Wow, I was beginning to think I'd lost my mind. lol Thanks again. Great vid
Very nice! And I enjoyed the wind chimes! Your directions are so much better than the ones on the Clover package. Thank you for your very clear instructions!
i've had these for ages, but completely forgot how to use them. I've just spent the evening making a giant fluffy pom pom spider now thanks to this video :)
Great tips! Love your accent and love the wind chime! It sounds beautiful! This is a great tutorial, you are great at it and are very inspiring! Love ya
Thank you for the wonderful tutorial! The camera angle, simple instructions coupled with your pleasant voice make it a joy to watch. Looking forward to receiving mine in the mail!
I have the Clover pompom makers and I see that I wasn’t wrapping enough to get the extra fluffy pompom ! Makes perfect sense now that I see your example. Thanks👍
Many thanks for this tutorial. It was so easy to follow.I love the clover pompom makers. I tried making one from a cardboard stencil which I made myself, but the pompom fell to bits after 2 weeks, so glad to have the clover ones and know how to use them.Really pleased.
If the pompoms themselves fall apart, that means your tying thread wasn't tight enough around all the strands of yarn that make up the pompom. Wind the tying yarn around the pompom strands twice, pull on both ends real tight, but not so tight as to break the yarn. Now when you make the knot, do a normal knot, but before you tighten it down, wrap the yarn through the knot one more time, so it goes through the knot twice, now tighten it down nice and tight and pull on both ends hard, but again, not so hard that you break the yarn. Now, make one more simple knot and pull that one tight too. That is called a surgeon's knot. The special way you make the first knot by wrapping the one length of yarn around the other one twice helps to prevent that knot from slipping loose before you get to tie the second knot to secure the first one.
Thank you for this video and showing me how to use a pom pom maker! I was looking at the instructions on the packaging and they were not overly clear and gave no indication on how much wool to use, so this was fantastic and really informative. I can now make pom poms to my heart's content. To making a pom pom wreath for Christmas! Thank you again!!
Thank you for doing these tutorials i am doing Pom poms for myother crochet items and get my daughter to help me with Pom poms too X Love the wind chimes XX
As usual, I'm late to the party 😄 I just bought one of these pom pom makers a couple of days ago. I thought I understood how it worked, but this tutorial gave me so many insights and tips!
Thanks a lot! I bought it yesterday and though it has an instruction we ( my husband and I) could not figure out how that thing works. Subscribed with a great pleasure!
Thank you for making this tutorial! I was debating on whether or not to purchase one. I saw a different video and the pompom that was made was lame. You showed the right way and what a difference! I will now be purchasing one.
Bought myself those pom pom makers, I have 4 different sizes, didn't have a clue how they worked! so thank you for the tutorial I shall now have a go in making one!
I have never made a Pom Pom before but I wanted one for a crochet beanie I just made, my daughter had exactly the same Pom Pom maker as yours, the Clover Pom Pom maker. The instructions on the package were a bit vague,so looked up a tutorial and found yours and I’m so happy I did! You explained everything so well and I was able to follow your instructions exactly and I made half one side white and other side pink. I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out and I thought it might have mixed both colours together but I’m guessing you have to use both colours on each side of the Pom Pom maker to get the mixed colours. It still looks great, so thank you so much for this tutorial, I have watched quite a few and love how you explain everything thoroughly! Greetings from a UK expat now living on Vancouver Island, Canada

Thanks for a great tutorial. I am about to make my first Pom Pom and thought I would get one of these clover Pom Pom makers. I would never have done that many wraps but see I need too. So thank you for the great explanation. I have no fear now.
Thanks so much for this informative tutorial. Just got the Clover Pom Pom Maker and had no idea how to use it and you made it quite clear on how to make those really fluffy Poms. Thanks again and Happy New Year!

I love your accent and use of words, such as bedraggled and brutal. I never thought learning how to properly make a pom pom could be so delightful. Your windchimes are lovely. Thanks!!
Great video! I make these using fleece strips (flarn) for my sugar gliders. One thing you can do differently to make it even sturdier is use a zip tie in the center.
i have several sizes of these and they're excellent! thanks to your vid of course. the scissor cutting does some kind of noise cancellation on your vid but i can still work out what you're saying (happens for a few mins around half way through). I particularly love working with the extra small one which makes the teeniest of pompoms! super cute. i attach them around the bottom two edges of crocheted triangular shawls i make in cashmere. love bit of luxury! :-)
Thanks for the instructional! I was super concerned as to how tidy I needed to wrap around. Btw I struggled with just holding the loose end of the yarn, so I tied it to the arch and it seemed to work fine and helped stabilize the two halves of the tool
Love all your tutorials. Thank you. Just received a pompom maker as a present. Wasn't sure what i was doing so watched and was a great big help. Thanks again d☺
I have discovered that wrapping with consistant loose tension will prevent the need for excess trimming. If some wraps are tighter than others when you cut the yarn they pop back shorter and the loosey goosey wraps don't so then you have different strand lengths and "edges" you have to trim.

Informative. Looks like the key to success is really filling out the pom pom maker with yarn and trimming.
