The Driver Swing is so much EASIER TO LEARN when you follow this

  • The driver swing is so much easier when you follow a simple system. Many of Danny Maude's students have the same questions you have:
How do you hit driver straight? How do I hit driver consistently? How to hit driver further? More importantly how can I do all this without having to think of too many things over the golf ball.
You see over the years the golf swing has been chopped up and dissected into so many pieces it can sometime feel like it will take forever to learn.
But don't believe that. This is the old school way.
The new school way is to learn your swing. We are all built differently, different shapes and sizes, different levels of strength and flexibility. Should we all swing it the same way?
Take a look at the the hottest golfers in the world right now. Dustin Johnson, Mathew Wolff, Victor Hofland. They have chosen to adopt the new school way. They have chosen to find a golf swing that works for them rather than fit into a model that someone has designed.
In this weeks golf lesson Danny gives you a super simple process that he used with his dad to help him hit driver much straighter.

    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On RUclips and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

    Hi Danny.
This is great. Thank you. I'm 68 now and thanks to such great advice, I've improved.
Your particular advice on standing a little more upright is pure gold and I haven't failed to notice the "knee thing" in Jordan Spieth's swing, which is something we all need to practise.
Long ago but not forgotten, is a video I purchased of Greg Norman's demo which is a standout.
Prior to the swivel of the hips and because many of us seem to forget the bare basics during address, he offered the most valuable information - known as the "right pocket back".
Imagine someone is trying to pick your pocket from the front and you recoil by moving your right pocket back - for a RH golfer - as you begin your swing.
It seems to help align everything and most definitely improves the axis about which, your body turns.

Danny this is a great drill and it really does work. I had this shown to me about 10 years ago when I was 60. I was on the range hitting 3 Woods and the club Pro showed this drill to me and I instantly added 30 yards to my 3 Wood and it was a nice soft draw and I'm right handed and play left handed. Great drill and great advice.

I took this completely to heart and practiced 3 times in a week at a driving range. Then I went to the golf course. I am not hitting the ball “harder” but it is going much further. My driver has gained about 30 yards and my accuracy has improved. Some of this concept of using the ground, has translated to my irons and I have gained 10-20 yards in my irons. At 55 years old, out of shape, overweight, I just had the best round of golf in my life! I still have work to do. I am a 25 handicap player and just recorded a score of 86. I am so excited to continue practicing and playing. THANK YOU! These videos are fantastic!

I pulled off the unimaginable for me yesterday after watching your video and then going out to the course to incorporate your techniques. I hit a 280 drive. I typically hit my driver 200-220 yards. My ball flight with my driver has never been straighter! I think I was always hitting down on my driver because my stance wasn't wide enough and my swing path was very constricted and not coming from the inside enough. Thank you and your father Danny!

Danny, finally had a chance to get to the driving range to try this (NZ bloody winter!). Must be honest a lot of your tips have not worked for me (pretty sure I'm not implementing right, my fault) but this made huge change to my driving!! managed to hit 20+ consistent drivers straight and with good distance. Have not done that in many years. thanks very much.

  • @peterferguson2248

This does work. I first watched this video yesterday. Watched it again today then went to the range. It took me a few swings but eventually I was hitting my driver an extra 20-30 yards further. Before my drives would hit at the bottom of the back net which is 200 yards. Now my drives were hitting the back net at the 220 mark or above! And my "big booming slice" is now a nice fade - or perfectly straight. Thanks Danny! The challenge now is to take it to the course tomorrow. Yikes!

My biggest flaw in my driving game is an inconsistent swing path. Your explanation about shoulder position made the lights come on for me...I had always thought it was my elbow coming up (and it is, but that's because my shoulder angle is skewed). This should really help me keep my swing more consistent, without robbing me of some distance like when I focus on keeping my elbow tucked in.
I also really appreciate the fact that you explain all of this with a minimum of golf-jargon. Those of us who came to the game later in life can get befuddled by all the terminology, and these points are so much easier to assimilate when I don't have to translate all the suggestions into 'normal guy' terminology. Keep up the good work!

All excellent points Danny! I always set up for a draw and endeavor to hit up on the ball with driver. I have been hitting over 80% of the fairways with my drives. When I was younger, I had a wider stance in my driver set up than I do now. However, after watching this video, I feel that a little wider stance may be a benefit to me with the tilt and an easier way to hit up on the ball. Good Job! Keep up the good work!

The last few times I’ve been on the range trying these tips (I’m a slicer typically), I find myself hitting the ground well behind the ball (several inches at times). In my head I feel like I am dipping too far with my rear shoulder trying to hit up on the ball. Love your videos. Please keep them coming.

I was always afraid to make a wide stance with driver because I thought it was more difficult
now I understand that in fact it’s easier because your right shoulder drops automatically and you can hit your driver up. Great tip. 👍

Danny, while you are in Savannah, you might keep in mind Georgia was an English Colony populated mainly by Scots. There is much Scottish history in Georgia as well as in the highlands of the Carolinas. We have been Scots since 1307, and came to Georgia when England sent us to populate the Colonies.
      Still researching the date.

Wow how far you have come! Back around 80k subscribers to getting your dad fitted with Calloway stuff, well done you👏👏👏. The fitted club is the best with one caveat a lot of us (me definitely) have such a variety of swings from first tee shot to the next, that our fitting could change as we play unfortunately we poor (not financially) golfers will not be switching drivers from round to round! Your tips on ball throwing are just real simple gems, I am still using a tip from a much earlier video that still works every time I play. Congratulations on your videos and turn your shoulders a little further back on that backswing. Bye the way I have changed my designation emoji several times just to keep me happy.

Hi Danny, really enjoyed your video tip once again, its the highlight of my first brew on a Saturday morning. Can totally relate to it with your dad because I am in my seventies and slice my drive and even aim left to compensate.
My game has been very good of late except my inconsistent driving so I'm sure this is going to help me.
I'm out there tomorrow so going to give it a try. In the meantime I'll be practicing your tips in every room in the house 😊👍

Great video as always Danny, thanks very much. I love that your videos are very relatable - I am much nearer to playing like your dad than I am Dustin Johnson so when you use your Dad or students as an example it’s much more useful than the videos online that use Pro golfers as an example. Off to the driving range this morning so will concentrate on what I have learned from this video. Fingers crossed!

Hi Danny. Great lesson, thanks. You mention the spine being tilted slightly back when setting up for the driver, with the leading hip and shoulder pointing upwards. Do you maintain this tilt during the swing itself so that the lead hip and shoulder are still pointing upwards at the top of the backswing? I know that on other swing videos you have talked about pivoting around your spine with the lead should being pointed down at the top of the backswing - but this is presumably for an iron or fairway wood, not a driver. Perhaps a lesson on spine angle in the swing iron v driver and relative positions at address and in the backswing might be something you could consider? Thanks. I always enjoy your lessons.

Further I am just this spring/summer getting back to playing golf after a five year hiatus. I had health issues that culminated in me losing my right leg below the knee. I don’t but my coaching is all about each of us working out our own way to hit that white ball. I coach many senior golfers that have to develop for one reason or another unique ways to hit the ball.
The key is to keep your mind open to learning 👍

Leading to over the top and deep swings. Just went out to my Garage setup and tried it out Bingo as I was cleaning all my Clubs and trying each one I was smashing them with little effort, which is what I had lost. Will see how much improvement I make over the next few weeks.
