What Nobody Tells You About How to Strike Your Irons

  • Опубликовано: 24 мар 2023
  • This is why you struggle to strike your irons pure and make solid contact 👇
    1. You are trying to hit your irons straight. The golf swing is an arc so it's almost impossible to hit straight golf shots. The best players enhance their iron str by allowing the ball to curve.
    2. Your Ball and Hand Position are in the wrong place at set up
    3. You don't have enough weight on your front foot at impact - Easy Fix
    4. You are flicking your wrist through impact and not getting compression
What's great is if you have any one of these faults in your golf swing they are really easy to fix and can make an instant impact on the quality of your ball striking not just with your irons but with your driver too.
For example if you want to hit your driver straight just changing the ball position and alignment of body will be a real eye opener for you

    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On RUclips and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

I am somewhat speechless at this video. I don’t think anyone should strike an iron until they’ve watched this. That’s not a joke.
I don’t think many people understand why they should be doing this, adjusting that and anything else they’re taught to do.
This is the clearest explanation to every question you could possibly have for the ‘why’.
I cleaned up my iron shots on the range today because of this video, I’ve been playing 20 years and play off 8.
    Incredible video, thank you.

Playing 18 holes today with a friend who was consistently taking a divot before hitting the ball. I tried to tell her, hit the ball first then take the divot. (Something I learnt from watching your videos!) She is new to golf but hits a mighty big ball already. This video will be a huge help for her so I am sharing it with her. Love your videos Danny. I am playing my best golf now at 83 than I did 30 years ago! Thanks to your hints.

You know what I did to start hitting my irons crispy? I've love all your tips and have tried so many of them. This will be my 3rd summer of playing. Now I did play when I was young but that was about 20 years ago. I've been shooting under 90 but over 80 pretty consistently until this year. Most of my score was terrible putting 3 putting alot. A week ago I changed my putter grip for the third time. (Cross handed then claw now left hand on the grip with the right hand over it with my index finger only on the grip with my right hand) that helped me shave 3 or 4 shots. But the big change was pressing my hands about 2 balls past the ball with my irons. In the last week I've shot 76 twice and today on the back 9 i was 2 under until 17 where I couldn't find my drive. I took a 6 but still made par on 18 to shoot even on the back. I don't know why this made such a huge difference but I'm hitting my irons about a club and ½ further. I went from worrying about shooting over 90 to thinking I just might be able to shoot under par by the end of summer maybe. 1 week this has happened. I'm on cloud 9 right now. I'm going to play tomorrow..... I'll most likely shoot 87 because I bragged about this. But I'm excited and don't really have friends to tell. So I'm telling you. Thank you for all your tips and videos.

Danny, at 70 years old I have had striking cleanly problems for years on a consistent basis. After watching this video from you two times, I took your tip of moving my center sternum set up three golf balls ( before I set my feet space) to the left of the ball placement. Which invariably followed your line up with the left shoulder. I have not been to the range yet, but I do have a practice net outside that I went to right away while all was fresh in my mind. Wow, had consistent strikes like never before when I practiced my golf swing rhythm and follow through, my God thank you so much!

Nobody told me but I was a voracious reader of golf instruction books. Nicklaus taught me how to shape shots both ways in Golf My Way in the mid-80s and you explain HOW to do it even better 👍
But what really helped my understanding WHY it works. Nicklaus used the analogy of the swipe across the ball vs dead straight strike tilting the backswing axis like a banking airplane wing and explained the point of doing it on approach shots was to control the direction the ball goes after landing. Nothing is more fun than hitting a ‘hard’ fade with a 60° wedge landing it on the left edge of the green and see it zip sideways to the right via the slice spin. 😊

Danny, I just turned 60, long time viewer of your channel. My golf game was falling apart last year and I signed up for usage of a Trackman locally for several sessions last month. I was making some progress, but I just put together 4 or 5 of your videos that seem to diagnose my issues last week. I applied your tutelage to today's session and it was absolutely AWESOME. My club head speed jumped 10 mph with the same or less effort, my carry yardages have increased on average 10-15 yds and that was only in just ONE session. Next few sessions I will try to gel the new concepts to be more consistent, and I really believe there is still yet some more yardage to be gained. If I had the chance I would buy you to dinner, full spread lol. Thank you SO much for restoring my golf game. I cant wait until May when I can take this to the course.

Danny, Quite honestly, my ball striking has improved more since I began watching your videos than it has in the 25+ years I've been playing the game. I am a senior now and find your techniques work for this tired, less than flexible, body very well. I have developed a confidence standing over the ball which I never had until I began implementing your techniques. Thank You Danny.

I take weekly lessons with a teacher at Boca West Country Club in Boca Raton,, Florida, USA. I think he is a fabulous teacher. He focuses a lot on the path of my club. I find your videos exceptional. They compliment and/or reinforce his teaching progression. I have stopped watching any other teaching videos. You are an incredibly great addition to my live lessons and I just wanted to thank you. You make it very clear to understand and helping my progress greatly. Cheers!!!

Danny, this is an excellent explanation of how to strike irons. It explains in simple terms the physics of ball flight. All golfers need to know the laws of ball flight to determine what they did in each swing. Cheers.

    Hi Danny
your arc is so nature that I focus my attention to your trail arm on how you keep it tight to your body and with that upward pivot in your swing you make it effortless. I am trying to produce your swing every day in my back yard. When I go to the range it works but when I play a round I lose focus during the 18 holes. my goal is to break 100. Danny you have been very helpful thank you.

Danny is simply the best. Headed directly to the driving range to try this and a couple other "Danny drills". Ive been playing for a little more than a year now, and Danny has easily taken 10-15 strokes off my game without any hands-on lessons. I will be shooting low 80's next year. Thanks Danny!

Thank you Danny! I've golfed for 50 years and have gone from a 3-4 handicap to 18 and I couldn't put a finger on what was happening in my swing. Of course age is a factor, but still at 75 fairly flexible. I believe after watching this lesson I have gotten a bit lazy and drifted from the finer points in my swing. With this reminder I will start working on full turn and elevating to complete the swing. Momentum is there just need to finish. Thank you for all of your guidance!
