Emma McChug I got stuck on one of the missions and got so frustrated that I traded it in for Sims Castaway for the DS but got stuck on that one too... lol.
Just a few tips for this game if you plan on playing more (please do, I love this) -If you fool around in the desert for too long or let your needs stay low for too long, your sanity will decrease by the second. When your sanity is too low, you pass out and re spawn in your room, and you walk funny for a while, which usually lasts about the length of an in-game shower. -Don't time travel (change the in game time) because if it happens too much, the concierge freaks out and yells at you -You have to memorize the interactions to cheer them up, calm them down, etc. If you get one wrong, then your sanity goes down. If you get it wrong a few times, they get upset and walk off. -You can sell nuclear rods in the town hall and gourds in Mama Hogg's restaurant for spare money. -Go to the freezer in the basement in the hotel and punch meat to get your sanity up. -Nuclear rods only fuel for a certain amount of time, so always pick them up and keep them handy. -When you vacuum, items will pop up that isn't dust (pennies, gold teeth, rings, dice, action figures, gnomes) and you can pull them out and it will sell them and give you money -Build the art museum ASAP and make POS art and make sure it is ranked as a masterpiece. (you will see what its ranked when you finish it) you can earn major cash that way Hope this helps, thumbs this up so james can see it!
Reading these tips is very nostalgic. I had this game back then when I had no access to the internet so I had to figure everything out myself on video games. This game was great. I eventually beat it but got stock on the mechanical points part for a very long time.
Not only will the concierge yell at you for skipping time, you will also launch an alien invasion and you’ll have to shoot aliens with the water gun or when you already have the rat superhero, you can beat them that way. They will be in the lobby, atrium, basement, rooftop, outside the hotel and in the desert.
i could never get the robot out of my penthouse lol so i just gave up a few years ago, but it was hella fun looking back. i used to play this game for hours at a time lol
This will help! (Not mine) Romance: they have their hand on their ear - you click serenade they lean in - you kiss them they have their hand down their waist - you show off bod Calm down: they get in fighting mode - you beg they give you the hand - you yell at them they put both hands up - you give them calm hands Restrain: (this is hard to explain) they have really high sorta chicken wings - you do steady they have medium chicken wings- you do a stern yell they a down really low - you do stop Cheer up: they put their arms out - you give them a hug they start crying - you console them they put they head up and hands together - you give them a pep talk
Tip to get your sanity up really fast is to go down to the basement and into the freezer and punch the frozen meat in there, I loved this game so much when I was younger lol
haha, of all the things, punching a bag of meat in a freezer keeps you sane, classic example of gaming logic xD i hate how by the time you get out the freezer; your sanity goes down a smidge though, because you know... by the time you've walked through the freezer, it goes down, this upsets my OCD
Omg I miss this game! I loved how weird this game was and the fact that you could just paint pictures whenever (and I think sell them?) was the best thing ever tbh
Ikr I did the same thing after I was done with the main game and just moved in the penthouse living like prince oh yea and decorated my way with a plasma tv, hot tub and my pet and have Ara fullisi as my live In girlfriend as a guest to pretend she's living with me and when I have to check her out I just check her right back in lol and I didn't really care to run a hotel to much bullshit to deal with so I just let guest in and didn't bother to mess with them and if something happened I was eh fuck it it's whatever and I just wanted to chill and enjoy by cool crash pad and roam free doing fun stuff and just collect nuclear rods for money and for hotel electricity etc wish my hotel could be a free flowing community and not a hotel and just let people roam free without charge in the rooms and go wherever but my penthouse was off limit and I did need anything real I just collect nuclear rods for money and have free power and just live off of it and if people want to stay just have to contribute someway another and let's this PARTY STARTED 🌿🌿🚬🎊🎊🍻🍻😆😜
Omg this game was so awesome xD I used to love this game, but was always scared of the aliens and robbers? Idk for sure anymore. But one thing I still know is how I loved to tip the cows to get milkshake haha And now I remember, I used to love drawing paintings in the gallery. I had so much fun with it as a kid!
Definitely one of my favorite Sims games! Had this when it originally came out but I lost it when moving. I finally found a new copy at GameStop a few months ago. I've spent so much time playing it, such an addicting game.
oh my god... I played this game SO much despite it creeping the fuck out of me. the aliens and robots are so terrifying and to this day I swear to God this game is legitimately cursed.
one day, I'm going to buy all my old console sim games. I had so many great memories playing them. I didn't have a computer as I kid, so I cherished these titles. I even still have the old game informer magazine that did a two or three page coverage on all the sims 2 console ports
Oh my god, I remember this! I got to a point where if I went outside something happened which you will find out later (I hope) and because I couldn't go outside, I just stopped playing the game 😂 If James gets past it in a later part, I might start playing it again 😬
When I was a kid I loved playing this, it gives me so much nostalgia. I remember being super scared when going in the desert, when fighting those big evil guys when I was a rat hero and the scariest among all, Alfred... I don't know how i even managed to "cheese" it, because I couldn't beat him normally. Good memories...
"It's old" he keeps repeating as I am sitting here remembering begging my mom to buy it for me when it first came out. I am only 21, I shouldn't be feeling this old. lol.
I remember playing this game and thinking the graphics were AMAZING and now Im in awe at how pixelated the whole game was and I remember beating the game and feeling like an ultimate gamer 😂
It's so nice to see you playing this game. Brings back good memories, as this was the only game I've ever finished. LOL. *Flashback to wearing that creepy rat suit plotline.*
Thank you for this playthrough. Someone mentioned this game today and I was dying to see gameplay of it again since I do not own it anymore. Hearing the first "E-hey" soundbite sent me right back
omg as soon as u entered the hotelroom i had like major deja vu or i just remembered something, but its all so recognizable D: i mustve played this ones when i was a little kid, i dont remember ever owning this tho so i mustve just briefly played it somewhere somehow. if i owned it i wouldve remembered, cause i got my first ds in 2008 which is not that long ago... ok almost a decade by now but still
The bottom screen on my DS broke when I applied too much pressure on it one day and I had to sell my game. I was so sad. Thank you for uploading this. Memories!
i played this non stop as a child and i still have nightmares about it not because of the aliens but because of the sheer dread the atmosphere of the game and strangetown as a whole instilled in me
I loved this game as a kid. I also was afraid of the aliens. Also this game is how I learned the English word for desert. Kept pronouncing it dessert, though.
I’m currently tearing my room apart looking for my DS charger lol. I used to stay up all night and play this game, but I never finished!! Those aliens had me shook lol. Ugh, the memories 😭
I wish there was someone on RUclips willing to do a full playthrough of this game. I have such fond memories of it. I never got around to completing it, but I got pretty close I think! The things you can build in the basement are absolutely insane. At one point, I remember there being like a cult room??
I thought the two in the title meant there was a first one, so I looked for 10 minutes trying to find the first one. This is what happens when you sleep @ 5 in the morning.
Omg ... this was my FIRST ever Sims game that I owned . I don't think you understand how unbelievably obsessed and attached to this game I was . I've sold my DS and all of it's games , but I still have this freakin game because I cannot part with it LOL. Thank you , from the bottom of my heart , for playing this 💙
I literally was feeling nostalgic and found this gem for DS at a local used game store. Bought it. And beat it in a week. Brought back memories from childhood. 👏🙌
I'm a bit overtired and James reading the storyline is literally killing me. I have tears every time he enunciates the uppercase words. I had to pause the video to get a grip on myself.
I have a very weirdly detached memory of this game lmao I think one of my friends used to have this because I barely remember playing it but then I distincively remember picking up those light sticks on the ground
This was my favourite sims game as a kid and I'd complete it over and over. Looking back it probably wasn't the most incredible game, but it still holds a place in my heart
I played this years ago. I remembered that I was afraid because of that scary town, the ghosts and aliens when I was little. I really hated going to that town and my own house. 😂 Still completed it tho. Twice. 😂😂
This is such a huge damn throwback! I used to play this on my little sis's DS omgggg the more i watch, the more i remember. Thank you for posting this! :D
James, some tips for the Keelhaulin' card game at the casino: -You can draw your card from the discard pile (pile on the right). This is particularly useful when you have 2 cards of the same pirate, and are looking for a third one to complete the set. -If you empty your hand, it doesn't complete the game, but it DOES give you the bonus gold from the treasure chest (the little icon beneath the plank). If your opponent empties their hand first, however, they get the bonus gold. So try and get rid of your cards as quick as you can!
oh wow, I use to have the Sims 2 game on my DS. I was so addicted to this. This was my first introduction to the Sims universe. So much nostalgia, I remember so much of this.
This game terrified me with all those aliens, robots, cults, desert and whatnot- I'm sure there was some kind of monster, too? Managed to finish it somehow, though, and fell absolutely in love with it the process. Please continue this series, James!
Pro tip: you don't need to build the rat cave. Given enough time in the game, Tristan will build it himself, and pass along 5hw Ratticator torch to you
OMG THE NOSTALGIA THE THROW BACK UGHH I WANNA CRY THIS TAKES ME SO FAR BACK I LOVEDDDDDD THIS GAME!!! The music hits my heart from how much I genuinely loved it and the sound effects ughhhh my heart 😭😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️ i fucking loved the aliens
oh my god. i've been looking for this game for years and i finally found it. i used to play it when i was 7 and was stuck at that part in the basement. this videos brings back so many memories i loved visiting the town and picking up the little things on the floor, even if i was stuck lol
I remember loving this game but never being able to finish it!
Oh my god I hated it, still love The Sims 2 on pc tho
Emma McChug I got stuck on one of the missions and got so frustrated that I traded it in for Sims Castaway for the DS but got stuck on that one too... lol.
i still have it lmao but i've never finished it either :D
Emma McChug same
I had a bug occurring with a text message one of the NPCs sent to me... sigh

Helpful but im already a veteran at this hame lol (not bragging) also did you beat the game?
Reading these tips is very nostalgic. I had this game back then when I had no access to the internet so I had to figure everything out myself on video games. This game was great. I eventually beat it but got stock on the mechanical points part for a very long time.

How do you know if it’s ranked masterpiece? I’ve completed this game several times and somehow I totally missed that part?
who would've known beating your meat restores your sanity ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH OMG i played it when i was little and the aliens always scared me and thats why i was never able to beat the game lol
Same lol
they scared me too xD
Ashley R I couldn't get past the MOLE....it's honestly didn't know what he wanted
The aliens and the soundtrack for the robots scared me as a kid
i could never get the robot out of my penthouse lol so i just gave up a few years ago, but it was hella fun looking back. i used to play this game for hours at a time lol
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who got scared shitless by the aliens!! I tried time traveling once and ooooo boy that was traumatizing
TheChillyCucumber playing this as a probably 8 year old, the aliens were traumatising for me 😂

That nostalgiaaa... I was too young to even realize what was going on in the game but I still loved and played it anyways
James, if you tip the cow and then milk it, it gives you a milk shake! 😂😂 If you milk them without tipping them, it just gives you regular milk!
Cayla Welty And if you give the cow chocolate you can get chocolate milk and chocolate milk shake!
Plus feed them chocolate to get chocolate milk/milkshake
now i really want this game
Ohh i never even knew that
I loved this game so much as a kid , but I remember always being a little scared while playing it , idk it just had a weird atmosphere.
Same! I was always scared playing this game because of the atmosphere
Same! I had the GBA game, such a weird creepy vibe, but so good!
@@katieburns1101 good like urbz gba ? or not comparable? urbz and sims bustin' out gba were greaat.

they put their arms out - you give them a hug
they start crying - you console them

Chloe-Mae lol i loved how they explained the restrain one 😂
what a hero you are
Tip to get your sanity up really fast is to go down to the basement and into the freezer and punch the frozen meat in there, I loved this game so much when I was younger lol
being careful not to stay in the freezer too long because being in there also depletes your sanity very fast.
haha, of all the things, punching a bag of meat in a freezer keeps you sane, classic example of gaming logic xD i hate how by the time you get out the freezer; your sanity goes down a smidge though, because you know... by the time you've walked through the freezer, it goes down, this upsets my OCD

This game was honestly one of my favorites growing up right along Animal Crossing!! Love the series!
James you can pick up cards from the discard pile so if your opponent throws down a card you need to can pick it up and play it!
Casey McNeilis this was kind of bothering me because he could have taken one from that pile at least once and he would've had three of the same card
Yeah same! I was cringing as he passed up some of those cards.
I love how he yells "THEONA" every time 😂
Same! 😂😂😂

Really lovin that sanity meter in the bottom right corner of the top screen.

UM NO. the alien music was scary and I avoided it at all costs because that was what nightmares were made of.
Shannon Omfg, the Alien music freaked the fuck out of me too!

This game terrified me with all those aliens, robots, cults, desert and whatnot- I'm sure there was some kind of monster, too? Managed to finish it somehow, though, and fell absolutely in love with it the process. Please continue this series, James!
i spent so many hours of my life playing keelhaulin' cards
I USED TO LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH. ohmygods the memories.
I wish they still made sims with a story line nowadays!
Pro tip: you don't need to build the rat cave. Given enough time in the game, Tristan will build it himself, and pass along 5hw Ratticator torch to you
Dude I remember playing this on my sisters 2ds and I would change the time in the settings a few hrs. Forward because the building would take so long
James you are my spirit animal, this used to be my game growing up! The nostalgia right now is unreal!
I just played this last month when I lost internet.
I never got far on this, I just went in circles for years on end. It was my first sims game and it got me obsessed with everything 'sims' related.
I can’t stop laughing lmao😂😂
Please play the psp version! That was my LIFE 😂🙌🏻💕
OMG THE NOSTALGIA THE THROW BACK UGHH I WANNA CRY THIS TAKES ME SO FAR BACK I LOVEDDDDDD THIS GAME!!! The music hits my heart from how much I genuinely loved it and the sound effects ughhhh my heart 😭😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️ i fucking loved the aliens
This video has bring me so many memories that I'm going to take my Nintendo and start playing this NOW
(Hope the aliens let me do something lmao)
'Kent Hackett' is such a funny play on words after you find out he hates being bothered by his fans lol
ah i remember getting this for like a dollar when i was little and the graphics made me so mad i played 1 time and threw it away
oh my god. i've been looking for this game for years and i finally found it. i used to play it when i was 7 and was stuck at that part in the basement. this videos brings back so many memories i loved visiting the town and picking up the little things on the floor, even if i was stuck lol
