I miss how in Sims 2 you could order Chinese or pizza, we need more variety for delivery food again. I also miss teens getting acne when they were stressed.
I miss it too. The sims 2 had tons and tons of little details like the ones you mentioned that make it so good. There are so many that I cant even think of them all but I just know that they're there and that they're not in the newer sims games. Ive never seen a game series remove so many features as it progressed.

The sims in Sims 2 just had so much more personality. Sims 4 seems like watching the same cartoonish interactions over and over but the sims in Sims 2 are much more realistic.
I can explain what the Sims has been missing since after Sims 2 in two words... Will Wright. Sims 1 has so much unique personality and soul it is why the game was as huge as it is. Sims 2 has like nearly the same amount of personality but with much more modern features then the first. Everyone since then has been losing more and more of that original charm, and as you can probably guess the last one Will Wright (the original creator of The Sims) worked on was Sims 2. The Sims 3 was still a great Sims game mind you and you can feel how ever you like about Sims 4 but you can't deny that Sims 1 and 2 have a distinct flavor that modern sims games haven't been able to achieve.
Yeah I feel the same way , to me the sims in sims 4 seems so dumb like it literally feels like they have no brain and you’re telling them what to do (which ik you technically are) but nothing seems natural with interactions and making them do things . Like they just feel like they know nothing , and they don’t learn anything . It’s just telling someone what to do , and they do it word for word . Idk how to word it better but it makes sense in my mind . Like the other person said , no personality whatsoever all the sims are the same just look different .
Technically your sims can. You just can't direct them to do so. In The Sims 2, if your sim eats their meal facing a nearby turned on TV, their fun will increase faster than it would normally by just eating a high quality meal because of a sneaky multiplier. There's lots of interactions that have this kind of behavior.
Reduxzion yup that’s what I think too. Online has sort of been a small hope of mine to the series when I was young though I am less interested now in that, I just can’t see them not riddling it with micro transactions
In my opinion, the sims 2 is the best game so far. It had a lot of little details and it made it much more fun to play. And I would love to see more! Keep up the great work!
I miss those options. I hope Sims 4 will see more of these old options in some new updated fashion. Even the simple things like the newspaper, snuggling in bed, etc. :)
My opinion: - sims 2 had great expansion packs plus some great traits you could add to sims - sims 3 had the best way in switching between household and world - sims 4 has the best sim building mode with the sliders I would appreciate a mix between these :(
i appreciate that they got rid of the open world thing honestly, sims 3 was laggy and crashy on most computers and it was largely due to the fact that it's an open world game. it had the best expansion packs though.
@@3rowid TS3's instability was mainly a result of the code, it was horribly optimized to no end. A restructuring of the culling code could've made TS3 run well on a potato.
honestly I really miss this, it was already easier in sims 3 but I just tried sims 4 and it's like playing with cheats, getting level 10 in a skill is so much quicker and growing plants requires almost no attention anymore you only have to water the plants every other day and I think in sims 2 you had to do it about twice a day just as an example... money is thrown at you just had my sim do the lawn mower minijob and he earned more in this mini job than his sim in this video on an full time job in one day the masterwork paintings of emotional kind are easily worth 1500 to 2000 simoleons and are done in no time and you can easily do 3 to 4 paintings in a row before needs become an issue in sims 2 you had to manage your needs all the time and stuff like eating 3 or 4 plates to satisfy your hunger completely in sims 4 everyone just needs a single serving and is full which is convenient but bullshit also in sims 4 the top quality furniture cut down the time needed to fill up your needs really hard especially the bed and finally they thought it was a good idea to have your aspiration rewards in sims 4 get completely rid of your needs, like no need for sleeping, eating, hygiene, social and fun I think at which point I'm asking myself why even play anymore? just use cheats to begin with (yes it's optional but I think this just shouldn't be an option for a normal game, giving aging off in sims 3 already was a bummer but this?)
I've had to use mods to increase bills and decrease wages, cause I had the opposite problem. I think it comes down to playstyle. The downside to mine, is that I never really see anything fun or unexpected in my game, cause I have to control every tiny little thing, fulfill every major want, get that promotion, max that skill etc etc. No time for fun in my game! ~Heavy breathing~
Watching Sims 2 again really makes you feel how Lifeless and bland the Sims are in Sims 4. I really miss a REAL personality system, fears and chemistry. I love to mess in CAS and build mode in Sims 4 but man... I can't play more than 20m in Simulation
@@ewenconquet6842 That's true, but I really wish the community didn't have to do EAs job for them ;~; (making their game fun/ playable). Also same MrBowser. Same. The simulation aspect is really poor... for a simulation...
@Rage virus and zombification are 2 diverse concepts just watching this made me want to play it again! I still have my neighbourhood I build from scratch (with a downtown, a businuess hood and a main Residential. Together with my sister. We played and expanded it for over 3 years. Both our families reaching generation 10+ (mine 14th) We had well over 100 housholds in the Hoods. All made by us. We had several families who werent part of our mains. (Even though they were Huge with a combined 40% of all households) yep gonna play this again! only thing I will miss is the options for Body and hair types ^^
That's a feature that's never coming back. Why they would you let create new neighborhoods and put lots wherever you want when they can sell you a new and limited one?
It's the hobbies car, though. You buy it for $800, and after it's fixed, I'm pretty sure it sells for $5000, and you learn skills while working on it. Nina has 1 cooking skill, if he buys a stove now, it's only going to catch fire.
When you realise that The Sims 2 has more of an ‘open world’ than The Sims 4..... This is definitely my favourite Sims game, there is a story to every family, every Sim and every town, it gets your imagination engaged. It’s crazy that I love coming back to a game that was made over a decade ago! Great video!!
I don't understand all the love for sims 3 honestly! It just did not age well nor does it perform very well. The sims are hella ugly. Dont get me wrong, open world, the gameplay, and create a style are great, but only if you're not playing at 15 fps lol...
Dresamae THANK U. I thought I was the only one who thought it was overall HORRIBLE, even though there were good aspects. The Sims were the weirdest looking things even WITH CC lol
honestly i love the sims 3 graphics, the sims 3 was the best looking game in the sims franchise to me. i think its largest setback was the styling, like the colors (or lack thereof) in the world, furniture, clothes, etc. it looked very ancient.. almost vintage. even packs like late night looked a little strange. the only packs that weren't affected by the weird country-vintage bland style thing were island paradise and into the future.
Sims 2 had my favourite glitch where you can steal babies by inviting your pregnant friends over and just distracting them, and for that it will always have my heart
Erie Maxwell i started playing the sims 2 in 2006 and I never even knew that was a thing. I love that. That’s why the sims 2 will always be my favorite
The Sims 2 is honestly my favorite when it comes to gameplay.. Also it gives me major nostalgia. I had/have all the expansion packs, it was so great omg
I love the memories aspect of TS2 and definitely think it should be incorporated again in the future. It’s kind of sad to me that there’s amazing features that have been lost on the ts4.. I get that they’re trying to make new and original content, but when the old games seem so detailed even without a million different dlcs it really shows the flaws in where the franchise is going.. really hope they go back to their roots a bit with what’s to follow, after seeing this.
Jesseybecca I 100% agree! It gives so much depth to both townies and player made sims! It’s so unique as well! I feel like I haven’t seen anything like that in years and totally forgot it was even an aspect in the sims! It’s so nice to look over the memories
I think the main reason they dropped it was that memories were the main cause of game corruption in Sims 2, honestly... I'd still love for them to bring it back, though :(
Thelinkan haha when I was about...I’d say 8 years old i had seen my babysitter play the game but I had never played myself so when I finally got the game myself I Installed it and immediately made my entire family on the sims I was the youngest of 5 siblings and had a mother and father, so I made all 7 of us and put us all in the game. About 9 hours later, I had so many sims to control and they were all hungry/starving... my mom was pregnant because I wanted to know what try for baby/woohoo was (so that was weird lol) she gave birth to a baby boy (I think) I was sooo happy about it because I had always wanted a baby sibling. So I started taking care of the baby and ignoring my other sims thinking they would be fine....they were not. So first my mothers sim died, and then my fathers sim died a few moments later...I started freaking out trying to save them but I didn’t know how. I saw their ghost/soul thing and I thought they came back to life..not to mention The grim reaper scared the crap out of me...as I was pausing/unpausing the game over and over, I even closed the entire game turned off my computer and opened it again (accidentally saving of course) but when I pressed play child services had come to take me and all my siblings...when they took my new imaginary baby brother I started whaling crying and then my ghost mom started walking around. Then my game said “end game” or something like that, because their were no living sims left on the lot My (real life) parents were so worried because I was crying so hard, I was so scared and upset because I don’t think I had ever really experienced any kind of death before and now my whole virtual family was dead... My dad uninstalled it from my computer and I think he sent a pretty heated email to my babysitter because she had given me the game for Christmas...I was a spoiled lil shit so I got them to re-install the game within the next couple months because I had forgotten the trauma it had caused Basically sims 2 is depressing because of how freakin easy it is for things to go wrong...but I wouldn’t say it’s realistic lol still it’s a great game it will always hold a place in my heart, and despite its age it’s still has a lot of replay-ability due to the intricate storylines and not to mention how your realize/find something new in the game every time you play it. I love sims 3, game play was great but the base game story’s from sims 2 had been abandoned. 4 is my least favorite, I feel like EA had more to do with sims 4 than any other game in the series and it really shows, it’s a cash grab game with no heart but the grafics are beautiful, so while its full of flaws I’ll still occasionally play sims 4. So yes, in many ways sims 3 and 4 disappointed me mostly because when it comes to sims 2’s level of deepness and detail, the rest of the franchise is not even close. Still I love the sims, all of them, hopefully always will.
ZeloticMemes I always overestimated myself as a child...Every time I’d make a big family (plus I was obsessed with my sims getting pregnant for some reason...probably some weird phycological issue lol) id always end up maxing out my person per household limit. I would be so stressed out trying to keep them all alive, and I’d take it wayyy to personally when one of my sims died for I’d make my dad who used to work on the geek squad I’d ask him to fix it/makes the sims come back to life and he’d just go back to my last save file before I killed my sims...I thought he was legit some sort of computer/sim saving god...and I still do in some ways lol Like you, I eventually started playing with one person...the infamous Don lothario, he was the real MC. I made him get all the gals in town knocked up...that way i could have all the little bastard children I could ever want without any of the crying, whining, usless mouths to feed. Then I found cheats and everything changed from then on 😂
@@donni6315 lmao yes sometimes i cant even manage one sim i tried get famous and after one gig my sim died when trying to make Mac n cheese in sims 4 in sims 2 my family died an most unfortunate death of an fire too and in sims 3 yes lets not talk about sims 3
When me and my granddaughter would make a sims we realized that the Sim we were dressing would have a reaction to what we gave them to wear, they might like an outfit but not the color or they might not like the outfit at all and had no problem letting you know! They did carry this on to The Sims in 4,but the Sims in 2 were so much more opinionated. You can move a family into your home, their money is your money and then you have them move out and you keep the money.
Well, you can still be with anyone in The Sims 2. It's just harder when they aren't attracted to you. That system wasn't in the base game (I think it came with Nightlife) and you can get around it if you want to. I am currently playing a sim community where I'm trying to do a version of the 100 baby challenge with a male sim who has a lifetime want of a certain number of simultaneous loves (10 or 20, I forget). I'm letting him have as many babies per woman as he wants, but he has to get that lifetime want. At the moment he has children in five different households, I think. I go back and forth between households because I want the kids to grow up at even rates. I have three additional women I've already selected for him.
The kids cry and run out of the room when they see their parents fight. Then the parent gets down on one knee to comfort them. The writers really cared back then.
we need functioning baby/toddler products in the sims 4 such as, bounce chairs, and a changing table etc. living life in sims 2 was more realistic, but in the sims 4 it’s just more luxury.
@@carley_ruckman Ehh.... We got toddlers for free because enough people wanted them. Functionality with babies is another thing that a lot of people have been talking about. Yeah, EA isn't the best with Sims, but at least give them a little credit where it's due.
Mona also he did have a let’s play but I think with a lot of his “let’s plays” semaj forgets them or they lose their pizzazz. Kinda like the mad scientist one for sims 4
honestly sims has become way too easy, I don't miss my sims randomly dying in fires but having to actually manage your sims to make money was part of the fun... in sims 4 making money is so insanely easy it feels like cheating... just put down a big plot of grape plants and you're good even the normal quality ones are 80 bucks each plant and you don't really have to do much to maintain them
@@brohvakiindova4452 you can get a money tree seed for 5000 aspiration points now too, and if you have the magic expansion (or get to work with the cloning machine from being a scientist) you can clone them as much as you like. Insanely easy.
@@untetheredsoul but you still need 5000 aspiration for that, just maximizing planting skill asap is still faster I think but it doesn't really matter anyway because it's easy to drown in money with any job in older sims games you didn't exactly have money problems either but at least you had to manage everything well at least in the beginning
omg yea i used to play that on my psp (pocket sizes playstation) but i was really confused about what you had to do because it made you complete this weird story mode thing (it probably wasn’t the real sims game
Oh man, even for Sims 2, it still looks great. Sims 2 is, by far, the Sims empire best game. The tombstone of Life and Death. All the packs. It never froze. Way more freedom. Thank you for the memories!!
OMG I miss the Sims 2 so much! I never really got into the Sims 3, so I played Sims 2 until I got the Sims 4 and there are SO MANY features from the game that I miss! The astrological signs, the turn ons and turn offs, the matchmaker from Sims 2 Nightlife... *sigh* But I think the thing I miss the most is the interconnectedness of the story, like how the Goths know the Calientes and the Calientes are affliated with Don Lothario and the maid Kaitlyn is sleeping with everyone's husband. Idk man I just really miss the kind of story element that that brought, like the complicated pre-established relationships between the townies made gameplay with them so fun for me.
Seeing everyone in the comments saying Sims 2 was their childhood makes me feel so old haha! I remember Sims 1 coming out and how everyone lost their mind about it.
I grew up with Sims 1, and Sims 2. I remember thinking how great Sims was, but didn't like that they never aged, and babies went straight to children. Then sims 2 came out, and the graphics were amazing in comparison. Plus they had toddlers and larger worlds!
me too! though i was in 2nd grade when it comes out. I was crazy about it, I used to wake up really early in the morning so I could play it before going to school 😂😂
I was about 7. During summer vacation I would play until 4 or 5 am. I played my aunts game on the family dinosaur of a computer. I used to make the sims woohoo but cover my eyes when the cut scene came on 😭😭 the good old days
Like you said James all the details like their wants, fears, what they like or don’t like and everything else makes your sims more unique. I miss that too :) In sims 4 we have the whims?? Is that how they call it? But is it not as evident as it was in the sims 2....
@@bubbles6853 there were some random wishes in TS3 and you could pin 4 of them to your desk. And even your life goal could be gotten from your sim's cloud of wishes after he/she did some interactions or came in particular area.
The sims 2 was actually the most creative sims game out of them all! Loved the things you talked about, the memories and the wants and fears and all that! So glad you’re doing this again pleaaase please we want more
The sims 3 on full graphics is looks really good to me. I loved the look of sims. I hate sims 4 sims. They look cartoony and disproportionate to me. I will say the classic sims 2 look is a nice style.
I still play Sims 2 in my notebook (Windows 10) I remember I had to install/modify something else from a forum that someone created cause we all had that shadow bug and it crashed everytime. The community really helps.
Being able to place a lot anywhere where there was space was awesome! I put houses in odd places and had to add steps and raise or lower the ground so the sims could get to the house. House building was a lot of fun. To be honest, although I play Sims 4, Sims 2 and Sims 3 have better gameplay and Sim interactions. Sims 4 doesn't even have cars, so we can't even order a taxi. Oohhh, the joys of Sims 2 and 3, definitely more exciting.

I remember putting off actual university projects to play my young adult Sims doing theirs.. not the proudest moment of my life, for sure, and loosing the old computer sort of "saved" my education ;) I was simply too lazy/cheap to start over Sims 2 with the original characters, so I just didn't install it on my next computer.
(sigh) I miss The Sims 2 -- the world customisation, the attention to detail on object animation, the fact it was such a HUGE step up from the original Sims. There are improvements in Sims 4 like more facial and body customisation, better genetics, faster loading times, object search options, etc, and Sims 3 probably had more content and customisation overall and introduced multitasking, life extension and other stuff (I just hated the uncanny style and the way certain animation details were cut back on), but The Sims 2 is still the best generation of Sims games for pretty much everything else, it's just a shame it doesn't work well on new computers or I'd still be playing it.
It works perfectly fine on new computers, took me a while to fix it but totally worth it. You just have to download Graphics Rules Maker to sims 2, and change the settings there and the game will run smoothly in the right resolution and high graphics. I recommend the shadow fixer-mod as well
While I like some things in the sims 4, I don't think the genetics are better (unless you mean more skin/hair choice, which is true, but that doesn't relate to the genetic system).
@Cookie Crumble Haha, reading it back it does sound a bit like that bit from Life of Brian. Your English seems perfectly fine to me, by the way, better than some English people. At the time it came out I just felt Sims 3 didn't offer anything new that Sims 2 didn't have. I bought Sims 3 on sale recently and really didn't like it -- the sims looks uncanny, there's lots of things I miss from Sims 2 that were absent or not as well done. Sims 4 is lacking too but it at least looks nice and feels fun to play but yes, I miss the balance of Sims 2.
Yes definitely more Sims 2 please, and maybe a little of Sims 3 too. If we could take all the really good gameplay from Sims 2 and 3 and put it into Sims 4, we would have Sims Perfection. I miss being able to have the Sims work on an old car, do it up anc then sell it. It was also fun fir the Sims to be able to use the sewing machine to make teddy's and clothes and other interesting stuff. I also remember having the wall bars so the children and teenagers could practise their dance skill and try to become a ballerina. There is so much more that could be taken from these two games and inserted into Sims 4.
Sims 2 was the first sims game I was introduced to, so much nostalgia seeing this. I really miss the personality system of sims 2, mainly the turn ons and turn offs. I feel like in all the other sims games you can force sims together just but continually trying whereas in sims 2 you really had to work with their turn ons and offs
I went straight from playing Sims 2 for about a decade to playing Sims 4, about 2-3 years ago... I really miss the memories thing, I was so bummed they did not have that in The Sims 4... And the way you bought food and electronics and games for your sims... So much better than Sims 4... I agree with many people in this comment section… EA should take Sims 2, add the colour wheel from Sims 3 and the advanced technology and such from Sims 4 to make the best Sims game of all time… But now with the "5 years has passed - here's a new… LOGO!" instead of a new game (Sims 5)… I think they're never going to do Sims 5. They're just going to keep updating Sims 4.
they will do sims 5 once they run out of ideas for pricey dlc... then the cycle continues and they throw the same concept at you for 40 bucks each pack
I MISS THE MEMORIES SO MUCH, THAT THE GHOST FAMILY ALREADY HAD SET MEMORIES AND FAMILY TREE. I miss it so fkn much, I'd love that for Sims 5 - I want the complex storylines
My most vivid memory of playing the Sims 2 is when I started playing the Broke family and I felt bad for them so I cheated them loads of money and bought that big massive Spanish style mansion and as soon as they moved in, the mom died randomly. So Brandon the teenager has to raise the toddler himself and we even got him into private school after a dinner with the headmaster! Good times.
also if you give toddlers a green bottle from the special bottle machine in your inventory (ONLY IF IT GLOWS WHITE, it's guaranteed to be made white if you let a gold or white mood sim make it) you can get them potty trained in like two potty sessions with half or red bladder. (and their skill building is faster as a kid if they've been glow bottle fed as toddlers)
This was great, I'm actually glad it's so hard to make money, that's something I've missed in Sims 4. I think you should finish fixing up the car but have Nina sell it and use the money on something absolutely unnecessary like the vibrating bed! More Sims 2 James!
I miss being able to customize the neighborhoods, and the chemistry system. I swear I had an NPC try to break up a marriage and it's a bummer we can experience anything like that again.
0:22 omg does anyone else remember the two mansions in the upper left and on the right to be THE best houses in the Sims 2 and you always wanted to have them but never had enough money?

Everyone since then has been losing more and more of that original charm, and as you can probably guess the last one Will Wright (the original creator of The Sims) worked on was Sims 2.

More Sims 2 please!! Actually laughed out loud when the couch mysteriously disappeared XD
The dog he let it the house destroys furniture. Lol
In my opinion, the sims 2 is the best game so far. It had a lot of little details and it made it much more fun to play. And I would love to see more! Keep up the great work!
Yeah like when the two sims snuggled up in bed. I also miss slow dancing.
I miss those options. I hope Sims 4 will see more of these old options in some new updated fashion. Even the simple things like the newspaper, snuggling in bed, etc. :)
gracefulgracie I want that to but I don’t thing they are gonna come.. I hope they do tho it adds little details..
Samantha Norton ugh me too we need them..
Sims 2 and 4 are my favorites so far. But i never actually played sims 2 ;-;
If EA had any brains they would update, and remaster Sims 2, imo it's the best of the series.
Cal S they honestly would make so much money from it.
It's EA... Masters of micro transactions. The good old days are gone forever
Sadly they don't have any brains. :(
Especially since "vintage" games is a popular trend these days.
They won't. It would cannibalize Sims 4 sales
as soon as the soundtrack started i was suddenly happy
My opinion:
- sims 2 had great expansion packs plus some great traits you could add to sims
- sims 3 had the best way in switching between household and world
- sims 4 has the best sim building mode with the sliders
I would appreciate a mix between these :(
Same!
So true. The loss of open world is a huge turn off especially
i appreciate that they got rid of the open world thing honestly, sims 3 was laggy and crashy on most computers and it was largely due to the fact that it's an open world game. it had the best expansion packs though.
@@3rowid TS3's instability was mainly a result of the code, it was horribly optimized to no end. A restructuring of the culling code could've made TS3 run well on a potato.

James the whole 34 minutes: "oh my God" "we need money" "still starving"
Realism at its finest. Lol
honestly I really miss this, it was already easier in sims 3 but I just tried sims 4 and it's like playing with cheats, getting level 10 in a skill is so much quicker and growing plants requires almost no attention anymore you only have to water the plants every other day and I think in sims 2 you had to do it about twice a day just as an example...
money is thrown at you just had my sim do the lawn mower minijob and he earned more in this mini job than his sim in this video on an full time job in one day
the masterwork paintings of emotional kind are easily worth 1500 to 2000 simoleons and are done in no time and you can easily do 3 to 4 paintings in a row before needs become an issue
in sims 2 you had to manage your needs all the time and stuff like eating 3 or 4 plates to satisfy your hunger completely in sims 4 everyone just needs a single serving and is full which is convenient but bullshit
also in sims 4 the top quality furniture cut down the time needed to fill up your needs really hard especially the bed
and finally they thought it was a good idea to have your aspiration rewards in sims 4 get completely rid of your needs, like no need for sleeping, eating, hygiene, social and fun I think at which point I'm asking myself why even play anymore? just use cheats to begin with (yes it's optional but I think this just shouldn't be an option for a normal game, giving aging off in sims 3 already was a bummer but this?)

Sims 2 was my childhood. I would play with my music teacher back in grade school. She was (still is) an active simmer.
How sad is it that the sims 2 has held up better than sims 3? Sims 3 graphics now looks so awkward, but Sims 2 graphics still look alright.
Sims 3 looks fine to me. I play it almost everyday. Lol
honestly i love the sims 3 graphics, the sims 3 was the best looking game in the sims franchise to me. i think its largest setback was the styling, like the colors (or lack thereof) in the world, furniture, clothes, etc. it looked very ancient.. almost vintage. even packs like late night looked a little strange. the only packs that weren't affected by the weird country-vintage bland style thing were island paradise and into the future.
Totally agree
Sims 2 had my favourite glitch where you can steal babies by inviting your pregnant friends over and just distracting them, and for that it will always have my heart
Erie Maxwell i started playing the sims 2 in 2006 and I never even knew that was a thing. I love that. That’s why the sims 2 will always be my favorite

@@ChristiKu3 found CallMeKevin in disguise right here XD
The Sims 2 is honestly my favorite when it comes to gameplay.. Also it gives me major nostalgia. I had/have all the expansion packs, it was so great omg
I love the memories aspect of TS2 and definitely think it should be incorporated again in the future. It’s kind of sad to me that there’s amazing features that have been lost on the ts4.. I get that they’re trying to make new and original content, but when the old games seem so detailed even without a million different dlcs it really shows the flaws in where the franchise is going.. really hope they go back to their roots a bit with what’s to follow, after seeing this.
I loveeeeeddd the memories. I wish theyd bring that back so bad
I'm so glad you mentioned that cause no one seems to mention that as a feature. I miss it soo much! It adds personality to the characters and the game
Jesseybecca I 100% agree! It gives so much depth to both townies and player made sims! It’s so unique as well! I feel like I haven’t seen anything like that in years and totally forgot it was even an aspect in the sims! It’s so nice to look over the memories
ever since the creator sold it, the game went downhill.... its different when you make things from love and from money.
I think the main reason they dropped it was that memories were the main cause of game corruption in Sims 2, honestly... I'd still love for them to bring it back, though :(
"Didn't even get chance to cheat on him today! the toddler really slowed things down for me" HAHAHA!
Sims 2 is so realistic it's actually kind of depressing.
What? Why would you get depressed? I never did while i was playing it.
Then my game said “end game” or something like that, because their were no living sims left on the lot
My (real life) parents were so worried because I was crying so hard, I was so scared and upset because I don’t think I had ever really experienced any kind of death before and now my whole virtual family was dead...
My dad uninstalled it from my computer and I think he sent a pretty heated email to my babysitter because she had given me the game for Christmas...I was a spoiled lil shit so I got them to re-install the game within the next couple months because I had forgotten the trauma it had caused
Basically sims 2 is depressing because of how freakin easy it is for things to go wrong...but I wouldn’t say it’s realistic lol still it’s a great game it will always hold a place in my heart, and despite its age it’s still has a lot of replay-ability due to the intricate storylines and not to mention how your realize/find something new in the game every time you play it.
@@donni6315 i got too stressed out playing the sims 2 with a family so i just played with one person lmao its so hard and they got so little autonomy

Like you, I eventually started playing with one person...the infamous Don lothario, he was the real MC. I made him get all the gals in town knocked up...that way i could have all the little bastard children I could ever want without any of the crying, whining, usless mouths to feed.

An attraction system would be awesome in the sims 4
Yeah it's just too easy now, you can be with anyone. Miss the limitations
I would like the fears, like, and turn ons/offs in sims 4, too!
there's a cheat that shows your sim's gender preference in sims 2

They had to cut a lot of the little things in the later versions due to EA policies. We didn't even have toddlers when TS4 launched
Sims 2 University was probably the best expansion ever created for the sims
I remember putting off actual university projects to play my young adult Sims doing theirs.. not the proudest moment of my life, for sure, and loosing the old computer sort of "saved" my education ;) I was simply too lazy/cheap to start over Sims 2 with the original characters, so I just didn't install it on my next computer.
Loved it! And miss it so much! One of my favorite parts also.
Totally agree! A lot of fun memories just playing students in the university setting.
And it was the FIRST expansion of this game
@@organicstorm lol I did that with Sims 3, had my sims in college studying for finals while I myself should've been studying for finals irl
“We didn’t even get a chance to cheat on him today” 🤣😂
is your wife cheating on you frequently? don't want all the emotional hastle that comes with it? boy got I the solution for you!
"we didn't even get a chance to cheat on him today" 💀💀
Sims 5 should just be a HD remake of the Sims 2
Still coming back to this. Love it. A Sims 2 rags to riches would be fun, especially with the Ultimate collection!
Yea, I wish we had more realism in the sims 4! Things like buying groceries, turn ons and turn offs, were cool features to have.
i honestly miss the burglars in ts2, even though the music out of nowhere it was a cool feature
@@Vladimira92
Don't you remember how weirdly parents' features used to get merged when they had babies in Sims 2 and 3?
@Cookie Crumble
Haha, reading it back it does sound a bit like that bit from Life of Brian.
@@annacarlsen4281
I'll have to try that out, thanks for the advice!
It is driving me CRAZY that you are so poor but you have two full bathrooms!!!
More sims 2 please! I’ve gotten so bored of sims 4 content.
Kairex I really miss that, and also whichever expansion pack gave them sexualities
Watching this in 22 after henford on Bagley. Grocery shopping in Sims 2 awesome detail. Needing groceries in Sims 4 is a pain and a challenge.
Broke, no lights, living off cereals. A demon dog comes along. "Greet Andy"
you should really make this a series again
I went straight from playing Sims 2 for about a decade to playing Sims 4, about 2-3 years ago... I really miss the memories thing, I was so bummed they did not have that in The Sims 4... And the way you bought food and electronics and games for your sims... So much better than Sims 4...
I agree with many people in this comment section… EA should take Sims 2, add the colour wheel from Sims 3 and the advanced technology and such from Sims 4 to make the best Sims game of all time…
But now with the "5 years has passed - here's a new… LOGO!" instead of a new game (Sims 5)… I think they're never going to do Sims 5. They're just going to keep updating Sims 4.
they will do sims 5 once they run out of ideas for pricey dlc... then the cycle continues and they throw the same concept at you for 40 bucks each pack
sims 4 is shite they stripped every feature lol noob sims 3 best and 2
Probs an unpopular opinion but sims 2 is the best sims by far and I’m not sure will ever be topped 😍
intellectual
It's an unpopular opinion because it has been elevated to the level of being a fact.
@@Chosen1Creator Sims 3 pets was my favorite
Honestly the most popular opinion, but definitely the RIGHT opinion. Never seen a person disagree :’)
i agree 112%
The detail in the sims 2 is so good! Cockroaches in a dirty house, the social bunny, the carpools. Love this game!
I MISS THE MEMORIES SO MUCH, THAT THE GHOST FAMILY ALREADY HAD SET MEMORIES AND FAMILY TREE. I miss it so fkn much, I'd love that for Sims 5 - I want the complex storylines
The nostalgia is real...😭 Sims 2 will always have a special place in my heart ❤️
bluebearglory & a special place on my laptop
My most vivid memory of playing the Sims 2 is when I started playing the Broke family and I felt bad for them so I cheated them loads of money and bought that big massive Spanish style mansion and as soon as they moved in, the mom died randomly. So Brandon the teenager has to raise the toddler himself and we even got him into private school after a dinner with the headmaster! Good times.
I still have this on my old Windows XP. I love that you can create your own world .🙂 I miss that in the sims 3 and 4.
I played sims 2 daily when it was still the current game and I literally just found out from this video that there were lifetime aspiration benefits
HAHA same. I’m so mad.
Money tree for the win
And you didn’t even have to grow it like in ts4
Duuude me too! I'm so glad I'm not the only one!
*slow clap*
Was it always there? Did it come with expansions? I played alsp played a ton when it came out and this is revelation to me!
I was literally screaming at the screen for a solid 10 minutes about the sofa, I was concerned he didn’t see it to begin with
THE WEREWOLF!!!
My freaking 9 yr old noticed it 😂😂
I saw the wolf go in the house and yelled NO! at the screen. Always lock the door to pets!
I literally only noticed it a couple of seconds before he did and I felt so dumb that I started laughing SO FRIGIN HARD AT MYSELF
also if you give toddlers a green bottle from the special bottle machine in your inventory (ONLY IF IT GLOWS WHITE, it's guaranteed to be made white if you let a gold or white mood sim make it) you can get them potty trained in like two potty sessions with half or red bladder. (and their skill building is faster as a kid if they've been glow bottle fed as toddlers)
I miss sims having memories! It’s something I wish they’d add with burglars and actual fire fighters.
Ikr
This was great, I'm actually glad it's so hard to make money, that's something I've missed in Sims 4. I think you should finish fixing up the car but have Nina sell it and use the money on something absolutely unnecessary like the vibrating bed! More Sims 2 James!
I miss being able to customize the neighborhoods, and the chemistry system. I swear I had an NPC try to break up a marriage and it's a bummer we can experience anything like that again.
Ohmygosh just the intro music made me want to RUN to my old computer and load up the Sims 2.
Do it 🖒it is a great game
0:22 omg does anyone else remember the two mansions in the upper left and on the right to be THE best houses in the Sims 2 and you always wanted to have them but never had enough money?
So then you marry into the family an kill everyone who lived there
Oh come on Motherlode!
I know! I loved the one on the right
@@GeminieCricket .. and that's when I was introduced to motherlode and it ruined the Sims forever ^^
