I love that there is a whole community of people who sometimes look at a house and go “i’ll build that in sims”
when I actually go outside, I often find myself saying, "hey, I saw that in the sims! I could totally go build that!"
Yes! I do that all the time 😍
@@slwrabbitsRight? It's so fun. There is a weirdly square house near me that I want to build in the Sims so bad.
I take pictures of weird houses to try and rebuild later lol
I dreamed about a house twice. Gotta build it in Sims 😁 (also isn't it weird how you can dream about non-existent place multiple times and have it be exactly the same each time? )🤪
those manually placed curved hedges would probably give my laptop an athsma attack
mine too 😭
This has passed shotgun style and gone straight to sniper style 😂
Lmao 😂
It’s even kinda shaped like a really long gun too! 😂
Enter the Gungeon ahh house
Thank you for this
Can you imagine horse ranch chaos of locking and unlocking doors in this house ?
23:57 the inverted lights make it look like the plants are onstage and about to start a performance 😂
Yes. :D
I'm only 20 minutes in but it's giving Palm Springs rehab center 😂
Oh it’s so giving rehab 😂
51:50 “If a sims for some reason is shy.” The shower is literally right in front of a window with no curtain…😂
James has entered his sad beige dad era. 😅🤣
I feel like people who live in beige houses have a room where they hide all of the color and they go in there when they think no one is watching.
I wish, but no, some of them legit have just boring ass houses. Its such an issue their kids don't actually understand colour very well.
@@Axelsrose Orrrrrrrrr they hide the color room from their children. It is their precious, no one else allowed 😂😂
@@YourNeighborhoodWitch I'm just imagining Helga from Hey Arnold, except when she enters her closet it's just a shrine with colored candles and a photo of a rainbow
@@Wandervenn hehehehe
@@Axelsrosethere’s color everywhere, not having color in ur house won’t make a child stupid ☠️
Hi James! I just wanted to say that you were my top creator this year and that I was in your top 0.5% of fans. I’ve unfortunately been going through a really long illness (a bit longer than 7 months and still going) and your videos were always there to help me through the tough days so thank you so much for making my year a little better with your content 🫶🏻☺️
I'm sorry to hear that and hope you can get some answers and start feeling better soon! Thank you so much for your support on the channel 😊
I'm in the same boat, suffering from depression and had yet another difficult year, but been watching so much James' content I ended up also in his top fans 😄 I hope better days and months ahead for you!
How do you see stats?
@Kristenhas3cats Go to the "Gaming" page here on youtube and there's a recap
@@thegreatalpaca hope the same for you too!!! ❤️
I grew up in the Bay Area and these plants are totally the vibe. They love landscaping with succulents cause they require less water and loads of homes like the water saving environmentally friendly landscaping. Lots of mulch and succulents. This house totally fits the expensive Silicon Valley vibe.
'If I put it there than there's just a lot of doors here.'
Yes James that is indeed a hallway
I love every time we get Dreamlight updates because I'm almost guaranteed James and Deli videos
Haha, they've been a lovely sponsor! I love playing the game and means we get a new build video
I want him to play a series on dreamlight valley am I the only one
Noooo i cam here to say the same thing, I'd like some Dreamlight Valley game play for James 🎉@@BreannaDion
I thought that, but then considered he probably needs something fun to do where he's not under pressure to record.
@@JamesTurnerYT It's great you're getting sponsors and get recognised by big companies but it's disappointing to see you promote Disney whilst they are listed as one of the BDS targets to boycott for their complicity and direct support in war crimes against Palestine. You can do better
type of house that gives off real "high-ranking cartel member" vibes
Build idea: attempting to build something from Disney Dreamlight Valley in the Sims 4.
8:15 it's not a black and white house if the white has a breath of warmth in it
35:11 if the question is whether something is weird or art, the answer is yes haha
These types of build videos are my favorite. Watching Semaj’s process is really interesting and his humor makes it extra entertaining. And I learn a couple things for my own builds. Takes me back to when I used to watch Sims Supply creating builds in Sims 3 . Thank you for continuing to produce great content, James!
Imagine IRL you go to the toilet and then have to walk through two doors before you can wash your hands 😭
That's my apartment !
My thoughts exactly. If he swapped the sink and the tub he would have had room for the toilet door!
My grandma’s house and my aunt’s house both have that! The idea I think is that someone can pee while someone else showers
having that many doors would stress me out 😭 i’d constantly be checking to make sure they’re locked
Wow, this is definitely one of the weirdest builds you’ve ever done James! I love your obsession with unusual architecture and it makes the videos so much more interesting to watch! 40 x 20 lots are not really good for much except townhouses and commercial building lots so why not build a weird house…
I love it and I hate it all at the same time. There’s something really cold and almost fancy jail vibes about this house but at the same time very vibey and cool layout. Also I havent spent a lot of time in San Fran but I know for sure in Southern California it’s common to have deserty plants too.
I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate Simmers building real life houses and actually loving them!!
I’d love to see a renovation video of you decorating this how you’d like to compared to the selling/house showing haha
I love how a lot of James’s build are trust the process 😂! But at the end it always looks good and definitely different in a good way!
Could you post a link to the original house? I'd love to see the real life chaos 😂😂
I know I’m so curious to see the real thing now!
I personally love the colour scheme of the beige, creams, light pink and I love the marble wall especially with the top part hidden and the hack you used placing the marble things into the cupboards :)
I really love those built after real life houses videos but I would also really enjoy it if we could get a photo of the house at the start (or end) of the video😊
Waking up to a new James video makes waking up on a cold winter morning worth it ❤
25:30 although the Bay Area may seem very wet being coastal with constant fog, etc. California as a whole is actually very dry and in a near-constant state of drought, so many people do opt to have succulent gardens since they don't need much water. Having a green lawn that needs regular watering is considered a huge waste of water, so the more native succulents, grasses and bushes, the better!
For some reason my cat loves DrGluon and James Turner streams. Everytime James posts a video or Gluon streams on Twitch, my cat comes running and lays down beside me and falls asleep. Please never stop streaming James. You’re a comfort to my kitty. 😁😸
Curved walls? More like Cursed Walls lol
I don't even build with diagonal walls, not after the game pretended doors on diagonal walls didn't exist. (Can't remember if it was Sims 1 or 2.)
If you really want a door to the toilet from the bathroom, you could swap the tub and sink placement, and put the sink to one side next to the door instead of centered.
I was thinking the same!
this was driving me crazy idk why he didn’t do that lol
@@honeymelon_b The tub looks so good next to the curved wall is the reason why I left it there. The real house also has the toilet room totally seperate. Granted, in the real version, the toilet room has a sink in it too.
i was thinking the same thing, the idea of having to use the toilet, then use your unwashed hands to open 2 different doors to get to a sink? nightmare.
Sad beige house for sad beige children
(It's not sad, it's just a reference 😭)
😂😂😂
Sad beige baby
Totally read that in her Werner Hertzog voice!! 😂
This house is absolutely something that looks more normal IRL and not in sims, but it's still really cool
i love love loveeee when you do build videos unrelated to your current rags to riches or super sim. it's so fun watching you build without the parameters or a pack or gameplay stopping you.
I was laughing so much when he was talking about the shower door and a sim being shy, when there was an enormous window directly into the shower 😅
Was it only me who was watching the bathroom build and saying "put the tub by the shower and the sink near the bathroom so you can have an internal door"? Lol
I built a three story thin house that was in NYC once and used debug buildings to finish in the lot. Would love to see James try something like that too sometime. Great build!
I wanna say he has but it's been a while? That or I'm combining ideas in my memory. I know he's build multistory thin houses and also used debug to complete a row of them.
@@arininquotes8396 I think he did this in a for rent play through
I weirdly love this house, that kitchen set is just the best i saw in the sims ever, i normaly don't like beige and browns, but it worked so well in the weird theme you wore going for! Its just perfect ❤😊
Having a rough day, this video makes it better😁
As someone living in a townhouse, this was so much fun to watch lol
57 mins of watching James slowly descend into madness? Sign me up!
I grew up in a house with a gravel driveway. There is a special kind of walk you do to navigate the gravel. We weren't conditioned to have flip-flops or slides on everywhere we went.
Love this, btw
That curtain to hide the different window layout in the bedrooms are really smart technique, i love it
There are a surprising number of succulents in the bay area. (Granted they are more adapted to sucking up the excess humidity from the coastal fog.)
Oh heck yeah, a classic James build video! ❤
The door to the toilet could've been in the bathroom if you switched places with the tub and the sink! Especially since you settled for only using one tile for it! :')
This is what some mobile homes are like tbf. Grew up in one that, in retrospect, was thin af. It would probably be like 5-6 wide and 20-30 long if made on the sims
Love seeing more build videos! I watched so many builds before ever watching the Bigwallets.
'If the sim's a bit shy they'll still shower in here.'
Meanwhile there's a huge frickin window right in front of the shower 😂
Sad beige house with a sad beige toddler room i love it
Long thin houses are called shot gun houses and are very popular in New Orleans
Just had one of those days where you'd wish you didn't need money to live, so this is going to be such a relief to watch and take my mind away from my problems!!🎉
34:54 actually loved the batuu art work there!
Definitely different...
Looks like a Do Not Disturb Door knob sign!!
This made me realize how starved for a 1-hour build video I was. James out here providing a service
This house is bigger than my house... and I don't count my house as being "small"
Reminds me of my narrowboat house from back in the day. I've always wanted to live on a narrowboat, so my younger self built a narrowhouse. A narrowboat is only 6'10" wide externally and can be anything from 25' to 70' long. I had a small patio to the rear to represent the rear deck where the boat is driven and a tiny yard to the front to represent the small bow deck where gas bottles for the cooker are usually stored. The internal living space was the average Sim height in width, just three tiles. That would be a double bed with just enough space to walk along one side.
From the rear it was;
(Outside) Dining area > [Kitchen w/ breakfast bar > Lounge w/ sofa bed]- Open plan > Hallway > [Bathroom > Bedroom]- To one side, off hallway > (Outside) Seating area.
What you have at 6:06 could pass for a widebeam narrowboat. They're 12-14' wide externally, which is also around the typical width of your standard UK terrace house. So although odd-looking in The Sims, this is just a normal living space for most people in the UK, just half of it is on the first floor.
Hi, James! I just wanna say that Im so happy to finaly be a member after watching u since bfr the seasons lets play when I was a preteen at school... and now I have a little bit of money from a scholarship and can pay for a membership and Im almost done with uni! 🤩u were my top creator this year, and I guess I watch u even more than I realised (TOP 0.3%! OMG) Thanks for making fun and heart warming content! As someone who struggles with depression, anxiety, tourrette syndrome and autism, u always felt like a friend and company during my bad (and lonely!) days 💕
And for improving my English... shout out from Brazil!
Aww thank you so much for watching and supporting the channel! I really appreciate it!
Congrats on nearly being finished with uni! And no worries, your english is great!
I have been watching you for many a year now James back since the OG Lady Bigwallet days and I must say this is one of my favourite builds of your to date :)
As a native California Bay Arean, those plants aren't too far off. You're good!
I dont know why I love this so much, you did exceedingly well at recreating the house, you matched all the baige together so dang well 👌
Now can you just see how very thin you can actually make a functional house?
Unironically love it when Gameloft sponsors you, because I know you actually play the game
Love when you build from reference. It's always a good and chaotic time! I would not want to touch the doorknobs on any of these WCs though!
feels like a holiday home
I really loved the beige-ification of this build. It definitely became more beige over time
I actually like simple and beige houses (especially in the sims) so I love this one. But the window situation on the left side is a tragedy 😂
The Bay Area actually has a lot of those types of succulents, especially on the other side of the mountains from the sea. Right on here ocean some areas get really misty but otherwise the Bay Area is temperate but fairly dry-ish. Dry enough for most succulents.
I know so many better things than having a bungalow with 3 kitchens. the og kills me 😂 you could have put the ice cream or popcorn maker and a bar into the entertainment pool room :)
Eating soup, cozyed up and watching James build a weird Sims house. It's a good day.
16:50 titanic vibes
Love the house, as always!
I love watching you build funky buildings like this! And I love how this turned out
I was just needing a new video perfect timing for a new James video ❤
Was shouting at my screen to switch the tub and sink so that the door to the toilet would be in the bathroom! 😂 A great relaxing build though James!
Gosh, I can watch you build for hours, your videos bring me so much comfort! Thank you for doing what you do, you brighten up the day for thousands of people
"Let's use these curved windows, although I wish the bottom was glass," proceeds to place 3 doors in each room.
i looked at the title then the house and went "ah a shotgun house"
My first house I brought when I was in my mid twenties was SUPER thin but tall. On a very very busy street in a city in the uk. It was a kitchen on the ground floor with a very thin walled in staircase at the side the next floor up was my living room then next was two bedrooms and the top floor was a huge bathroom and storage space. I also had a basement which looked haunted as heck, that I turned in to a bar/ cozy space that was used a lot as a social space in my neighbour. This time of my life was so much fun, I learnt a lot renovating that place.
The shelf piece next to the sink with the towels is such a nice touch for bathrooms, definitely using that!
Yay a new build video to keep me entertained while I procrastinate working
It’s giving Kim Kardashian’s brutalist sad beige home 😂
I fence in my pools in the sims for both realism but also so that my little pixel people dont go swimming in the middle of a snowstorm 😂
I would go mad if I lived in this house, but you built it well!
Ending up being a lovely place for someone that actually likes the beige look.
Would you ever do another Dreamlight Valley video, James? Not even necessarily a gameplay video (though it could be), but like a build/decorating video?
havent watched sims content for a while. james serving very satisfying content to dive back into!
i bought the game and all the expansions and i love it. i play dreamlight vally all the time now i forget time and place there is so much to do all the time it never gets boring
I like how James always try new modern builds
James I LOVE dreamlight valley I hope you make videos playing it sometime!!! It’s one of my favorite games right now!
I have to see the actual real life house pictures 🤣♥️
got a cold but I’m cozy in bed and James posted?! Life’s great 😎
i wondered why i liked you so much, then you mentioned australia and i was like ah yes fellow aussie. keep up the great content man, its entertaining yet inspiring as hell 🙏
"Unfortunately, laundry is pretty buggy, so these will probably break anyway. But the good news is, we have beige!"
😂Quote of the video.
Heyy James, I was on your top 0,4% fans hahah I watch your content every night to sleep, it helps me with my anxiety ❤ thank you for another year!
James: “It’s a good thing we have… beige”
"uuh- I don't know where they went" me everytime I use TOOL mod 🤣😂
I'd say 'ridiculously thin' would be a two tile home. A long hallway with the second row of tiles for the furnishings.
This beige house is literally my dream house
