Leading up to this album, Frank Ocean and his record label grew tensions since he didn’t see eye to eye with their handling of his artistry. He had to release one more album to fulfill his contract and move on from the label, but instead of releasing Blonde, he live-streamed a new project called Endless that ended up being a visual album. It was confusing for fans, and even the label, and the music was not exactly as great as Blonde, but it was an album and it got him out of the contract. The day after Endless was streamed and “released”, Frank Ocean released Blonde, one of the most polarizing albums of the 2010s, and is remembered as one of the biggest “heists” an artist ever performed on a label after he ran away with millions and left the label in the dust and dropping a classic the day after.
The story is much deeper than this but I wanted to give some context and insight how many people view this album, especially those who were there for the entire rollout. Now we wait for Frank Ocean to drop a new album 8 years later lol

Thank you guys for reacting to this one! Do rodeo soon!!! In regards to Frank’s output, he has 1 mixtape called nostalgia ultra that is good but more pop centric, channel orange is similar but with a bigger budget. He also has another album called endless that has a visual component to it, worth a listen but probably not worth a reaction. Frank has always been an enigma, there’s a 4 year gap between his debut and blonde and in that time he was locked into a record deal that he basically was able to finesse out of by releasing endless and blonde same day (he owns blonde but not endless) essentially dropping the contractually obligated album and then his “real album” right after to kinda fuck the record label over. Have you thought about making a patreon to post the full reactions?
Maybe down the line. We are keeping all our unedited footage. Plus we do some nights where we react to random tracks. Might do a poll in a few months when we grow a bigger following 👍👍
Fun fact that Kanye West co-wrote “White Ferrari" and also has some minor production on this album!
He literally said one word but I guess that does count as co-writing lol
@@matthewfa1641 i don’t think the writing credits are for one word lmao, its all on the black blonde special edition vinyl where all the credits are written in detail. He also did production on 1-2 other songs :))
@@tysonjankowiakoh thanks for letting me know. Wish I had the blond black vinyl 😢
@@matthewfa1641 yeah man me too, its insane how expensive the resell is, someday bro!
Interesting comments you guys 👍 keep them coming 👍❤️
Kanye's new album dropped. I know you might wanna keep going chronologically, but if you wanna cash in on the hype id do that for the next Kanye one- but obviously not necessary
Really enjoyed your reaction to this. Please go over his other music. He has an album named Endless and Nostalgia, ultra which I think are on par with this album.
Glad you did. We will be back with his other stuff.
Love to see you react to Endless too if you're interested in the production. Frank released it the day before Blonde came out.
If you need help accessing the album (even if it's not to react to), give me a shout and I can send it over to you.
Thanks Ciaran. Trust me it’s on the cards for us to do 👍 Can’t wait for it. Just got a few more new artist to get on our channel 👍
Not sure if you guys are ready for Travis Scott but rodeo is a great album if you want a unique sounding classic trap/hiphop/rap album
Defo on our list … 👍 interesting no doubt 👍😉
IGOR - Tyler the creator ‼️💯
On our list 👍❤️
you should try IGOR by Tyler, the Creator
Check out Kissland by The Weeknd!
Please pick one as the next Album
JCole-the Off-Season
Big Krit - 4eva is a mighty long time
Rapsody- Laila’s Wisdom
Nipsey Hussle- Victory Lap

I’m sure you’re going to see this comment 100 times but the beat switch in nights is at 30 minutes which is exactly the halfway point of the one hour album. There are so many cool secrets hidden in this album
I knew the album was exactly 1 hours but didn’t realise the 30 minute mark. Brilliant. Your the first person to mention it 👍👍
@@TwistTheScriptanother cool secret is when they say “how far is a light year?”, in the last track. A light year is equivalent to ~9.4x1012km and the song is 9.4 minutes (9:24). Frank ocean is a genius
OMG you’re blowing my brain now. 😂
you guys need to react to Endless. Its very ambient, has lots of guitars and amazing singing. its not on streaming tho but you can easily find the files online or the songs on youtube, though I'd recommend the files especially CDQ which have the best quality.
Will defo look into that 👍 sounds really interesting 👍❤️
I'm guessing you have heard of the band Radiohead but, if not, I feel like you and your dad would enjoy the album In Rainbows.
It's colorful, gorgeous, and has an amazing lead vocalist in Thom Yorke, highly recommend
Massive Radiohead fans 👍👍 ❤️
Lets goooo
Please do SOS by SZA
I agree
I think you two will really enjoy Lets start here by Lil yachty. He reinvented himself last year on a psychedelic rock album and absolutely nailed it in my opinion.
I tried a little taste of Yaghty. Sounded like DSOTM by Pink Floyd. It’s coming soon. Not reacted yet but it’s high up on our list.

Thanks for listening to my recommendation! Hope you liked it. Here are some recommendations:
illmatic by Nas is short and an absolute masterpiece and a hip-hop classic. IGOR by Tyler the Creator, Currents by Tame Impala, Forever Story by JID, Good Kid Maad City by Kendrick Lamar and then of course the whole Kanye discography. Keep it up❤
Cheers pal. Will add them to the list.🤣 We did Tame Impala Currents today. Just needs editing and hopefully out for weekend 👍
And if you really enjoyed Blond you could react to his previous album Channel Orange, also very good.
LESSSSGOOO!!
