thank u all so much for the birthday wishes i am officially continuing with kanye 🙏🏼 also yes i like my husband i moved 3500 miles across the world to be with him and i dont really get the joke sorry 👍🏼 if you’re waiting for us to make out just say so
My first listen of Blonde didn't really blow me away either, I only came back to Pink+White and Nights. I let it rest for a hot minute, came back to it, and it started to click a bit more. On my third listen I was absolutely sold on the whole project, one of my fav albums of all time now.
Yeah same here. Only liked the hits and a couple deep cuts. Came back like 6 years later as an adult having actually gone through real experiences and i could appreciate everything about it. Frank tapped into the realest of real to make this
Seigfried is one of my favorite and most personal songs of my life, the distant chords, the different sounds that come and go, Frank’s delivery, everything just takes me to another dimension where I’m just with my thoughts and feelings. I love it so much
@@Randhawa241I know I wasn’t asked, but I too consider this album life changing. I don’t think I’d say it changed my perspective on life put more so it just gave me music and an experience that I’ll hold close to my heart forever. That’s really what I think most “life changing” media does.
listening to the album blonde captures a sense of yearning for a past love. within the dreamlike and entrancing ambience, frank ocean shares vulnerable stories that reveal the duality of his mind. and the music does transport listeners. it evokes an ethereal feeling like a drive home through a midnight street, fluorescent lamps drift off alongside hopeful memories that ascend above. that changed my life by giving melodies to the melancholy, making current moments unforgettable.
There's a youtube video called "Frank Ocean - Blonde tribute" it's essentially a supercut of the album with accompanying visuals. It's a must watch. Really helps put you in the right frame of mind for the vibe of the album. The transitions are super smooth and the 2nd half of the album really opens up IMO. Great video though. I love Frank. I always switch between this and Channel Orange as my favourite but think I'm on the Blond side for now. Maybe it's a mood thing. This album is brilliant for a late night drive or sitting out on the porch after dark
Blonde is probably my favorite album of all time and I love seeing someone listen to it for the first time, as I wish I had that opportunity again. I've seen a fair share of Blonde reaction videos but I must say this one might be my favorite! I loved the facts you've provided as well as your interpretations. Thank u
such a good and deep review! the way molly describes the songs is so clear that she can canalize with details the feelings of each composition. it's just beautiful. happy bday molly you are an incredible person. greetings from brazil
One thing that sets this album apart for me, in comparison to some of my other all-time favourites, is being able to vividly remember my first listen. I think what struck me was the way in which the album expertly goes back and forth between vibrant creativity to moments of restraint when you least expect it. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Cheers to a Happy Birthday Molly 🎉
you just unlocked a memory of mine. I didn’t know that I even remembered my first listen. A girl that I really liked had told me to listen, and I put this on during my walk to her house. I remember the route i took im everything, kinda crazy. And then I remember listening to it in a different light shortly after she started dating another guy, and how the album meant something different to me at that time. and ive always associated it with the sadness of my second time visiting the album. just thought i’d mention it😅.
Happy Birthday Molly! Another thing to note at the end of Futura Free is the last words: “How far away is a light-year?” A light year is equivalent to ~9.4×1012 km. The song is 9:40 long.
bruh why are you apologizing for not liking white ferrari? it's better to say what you truly feel about a song than pretend to like the songs you are supposed to like
I remember listening to this classic when it came out. Like all the best music puts me back to that summer in London. White Ferrari and Futura Free are my two favourite songs. Absolutely timeless.
This album is an album that’s not an instant fall in love. You go back and listen and the songs just get better and better❤ This album is something special to me brings back so many joyful memories to me
I think chance the rapper "coloring book" or "acid rap" would be a very interesting listen for you guys, love the channel btw and HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOLLY!!
Fun fact about Pretty Sweet, the term "pretty sweet" is kind of a slang term for "gay". So you were kinda on the mark with your analysis of the kids taunting him.
This album was truly ahead of its time, really doesn’t feel like it was released in 2016. The album feels like something that would be released in todays modern music. Blond truly is timeless and one of the greatest albums oat. Also Happy Birthday Molly, glad you gave this album another chance because its truly something one of a kind that we probably wont ever get again
I would love to see a reaction to By The Time I Get To Phoenix by Injury Reserve. This album is a masterpiece and there aren’t many reactions to it on RUclips. Injury Reserve was a rap collective of 3 people, and while working on this album, sadly one of them passed away. This album was then finished by the two left. RIP Groggs, and I think Molly will really enjoy this album but also be sad afterwards. Also Happy Birthday Molly!!
Happy Birthday--this really killed me when it came out. I was not a Channel Orange fan, so I appreciate hearing the intro views. This really killed me live and when it dropped, so I love hearing these different views and how folks came to the album.
Each song is giving me goosebumps at the beginning. I don’t have a solid reason for why I loved this album so much but when I revisit it, I listen to the whole album in order. I can’t name another album I do that with.
i completely understand her reaction to some of the songs this album is a grower and when it does it absolutely hits u on different level loved to see what she thinks now
Happy birthday! Legit thought frank was saying all my life too until now lol also pyramids is top 3 frank songs! Please listen to endlesss if you haven't! My favorite album of his and so slept on because blonde took over understandably lol
the fact that she compared frank to radiohead is so crazy. both frank and rh give me the same feeling when i listen to them and i’ve always felt like no one ever agreed with me
When I was first getting into really deep-diving into music I stumbled across Frank really for the first time after he performed at the Grammies. When Nostalgia dropped my initial thoughts on it were the same as Blonde, confused by the direction in which he was taking his music in. After more and more listens I found myself immersed in song, I had never felt that before. Like me brain was was following the words and the outside world was non-existent. Frank has always received flak for his lack of music out there. I can’t say to anyone that I don’t wish there was more, but at the same time, I don’t want it if he doesn’t.
I feel like I had the same thing with White Ferrari - first listen I thought the lyrics were cool but wasn't crazy sold on it. Second listen I thought "maybe this song as actually genius??" and before long it was my favourite song. 6 years later, still is. Nothing can top it
Chanel Orange is awesome but blonde is slightly better for me. Idk if it’s because of the songs being put on gta online with his own channel back in like 2018, I just tend to gravitate to blond more.
