now it would be start cole, bench kendrick, taken out in a wheelchair drake but all time i’d go start kendrick bench drake taken out in a wheelchair cole 😅
Me too .. Im not comparing drake and Cole but this album is probably Jcoles best album, just like Nothing was the Same was Drake's best album I just get similar vibes from both albums and both have timeless tracks
People always miss the fact how 'Wet Dreamz' highlights the pressure, anxiety and insecurities young men face before their first ever intimate experience. It's not just a cheesy song with a nice beat.
literally i loved the song so much cause it reveals how much our societies makes what should be a genuine and chill experience for boys into smth that requires lying anxiety and faking
When Cole says "Check the birthdate, you ain't the god," he's also referring to the legendary rapper Rakim who's called the "God MC" and was also born on January 28th! 😃
Jan 28th is also the birthday of Rakim who is renowned as one of the best lyricists ever. He was a pioneer of rap who emerged in the late 80s and is known for being the first rap artist to sign for a million dollar contract (can I make a million off a rap tune)
i get emotional every time i listen to forest hills drive. i was going through a lot with this album at the time and every song is a different memory for me. i love cole, i love forest hills drive. it was a journey again. i enjoyed it a lot. thanks for the video 🙏🏻
I've seen Travis Scott, Kanye, Kendrick, Mac, Future and many others in concert, but my favorite rap show was J. Cole on his tour for this album. Dude came out on the stage and just sat on a barstool for the first few songs. He proceeded to perform the album front to back. Just such a great and intimate show.
What's so impressive about No Role Modelz is that it’s the only Diamond song without a music video I think. You guys mentioned it being a single it wasn’t I think J Coles even said In an interview that he never thought that song would blow up the way it did. It’s truly a song that got 2 billion listens just because people enjoyed it.
no role models aged so well... was living in Chicago when he made that song... i moved to LA in 2018 and quickly found out everything he was talking about in LA about how women move was true... that and chris brown "loyal" so true
2014 FHD is one of my favorite hip hop album of all time and I can't tell how many times I've listened to the Live version of it, it's such A GREAT VIBE. It magnified the album even more I recommend everybody to listen to the live version
Same! Every time I’ve seen him he’s rapped every single word bar for bar. Kendrick the same. Drake doesn’t rap or sing shit, dude too busy jumping around and holding the mic for the crowd to sing.
fun fact! in january 28th when he says “check the birthdate, you ain’t the god” he’s referring to the fact that he has the same birthday as rakim, a rapper in the early 2000s who was nicknamed ‘The God MC’. i’ve always loved that bar.
This album saved my life, it is one I appreciate and listen to every December , it shined light in my darkest time in high school, thank you for the reaction 🤍
Love Yourz has always been my fav, but I still bump Apparently and Jan 18th. Dope Jams, dope video as well. J Cole with the bars, profound story telling,... Love the album! Cheers, Thanks for the upload!
Great album. Great reaction. This albums theme is that of Cole's life. Starts with him being born on Jan 28th and follows his life thru growing up in Fayetteville, NC and then moving to NYC to pursue his rap career and dreams. And then ultimately making it to the top to realize everything he always needed, he already had. Love Yourz.
As a non-born english speaker your vidéos are helping me to understand album you react to ! I often vibin to album but i don't really understand the lyrics...thank you !
so refreshing watching these videos, of someone listening to an album for the first time. brings me back to when i first heard them, capturing that fresh feeling of classics.
@@guitubagrips9719 Me and your girl have 3 kids and a very nice life. We have Yolanda’s Quinceñera tomorrow after Church and the Davis’ Memorial Day BBQ on Monday. I usually golf on Sundays but my friend is in Cancun for a bachelor party so my golf group postponed. Think we’ll just get home after the party, make some popcorn, and talk about how you’re a broke cuck with a cocktail weenie in your MeUndies.
Since you guys enjoyed this album, i would recommend his next album "4 your eyez only" . Its a lot more introspective and deep, with great lyrics and production .
As I was watching I saw that you noticed the two perspectives in A tale in 2 cities. He raps from the His perspective in Wet dreamz, but at the end it's from the girls perspective also when he sings the bridge/ chorus.
Man first concert ive ever been to was forest hills drive tour in tampa. Big sean also opened for him. One of the best nights of my life. Classic album. Honestly think 4 your eyez only is his other masterpiece!
A tale of 2 citiez: the story is that since his friend got robbed in the first verse, he’s decided that this is his only option to achieve the nice life that he’s dreaming of in the first verse (white picket fence with some trees). It’s kind of like describing how people come to the “kill or be killed” mentality in underrepresented neighbourhoods in America. If that’s all you’re accustomed to, then it’s easy to fall into that kind of lifestyle.
4 Your Eyez Only Reaction is needed. In my opinion, his greatest album, especially the whole storyline behind it! Would genuinely be great to see you guys react to it
The rest of his discography is a must also if you want singles to react too his freestyles on radio stations while not being full songs are so incredible
it's always super fun to react someone reacting to this album for the first time. takes me back to how amazed i was when i listened a long time ago. please react to the infamous by mobb deep (since you mentioned that other amazing album). loved the video! can't wait for the next uploads :)
This came out when I was in HS and when I just started driving so this was in constant aux rotation. Its an album that brings me back and helps me reminisce. Def his magnus opus Yall should Man on the Moon thank u bye
LMFAO “there’ll always be a bitch that’s better out there on the tours” “NOpe. Not true! Can’t relate” 😂😂 you guys are silly as shit, please do more reactions
i know it’s such a basic opinion but Love Yourz is one of the most beautiful and powerful songs i’ve heard. i wonder how many lives that song has saved.
I live in Fayetteville. He doesn’t own the 2014 Forrest hills Dr house anymore. The government condemned the property due to the tourist activity and trespassing. It has a gate and cameras surrounding it now… IMPACT
I don't think I've even listened to that whole "Hello" song before and again... Avid J. Cole fan and favorite rapper (alive Biggie is the GOAT) so don't feel bad Molly
Would love if you guys shouted out the producers of the songs you react to. I realize this is a huge personal nitpick lmao so I'm sorry in advance but since the production is such a huge part of the listening experience and yall put a lot of appreciation into the production, it would be cool for the people behind it to be recognized
i feel like i acknowledge producers a lot in other videos but youre right, not so much in this one. its hard to keep stuff in mind at the moment but will try better. thank you bro 🙏🏼
let's play start, bench, taken out in a wheelchair between cole, kendrick and drake. who you got?
Start - Cole
Bench - K. Dot
And Drake can go in the wheelchair😃😃
Start Cole, bench K dot, Drake can go f*ck himself...you gotta introduce her to the world of Lupe Fiasco next my broski.
Cole
Kendrick
Drake
I like all 3 tho still lol
now it would be start cole, bench kendrick, taken out in a wheelchair drake but all time i’d go start kendrick bench drake taken out in a wheelchair cole 😅
