- Dr. Gundry shares his top tips for Shopping at Costco!
In this episode, Dr. Gundry is here to make your journey to wellness a little easier by sharing his top grocery picks from one of the most beloved shopping destinations: Costco!
Eating healthy feels like an uphill battle, especially when faced with a plethora of lectin-loaded foods and misleading labels at the grocery store.
From high-quality grass-fed meats to nutrient-rich oils, he provides invaluable insights and tips along the way.
Please note that Costco carries many different brands and several of the products they sell go through reformulations and updates to the recipe. We hope this video provides an excellent guide to help you shop for healthy foods but still urge you to look at the labels and stay vigilant.
Whether you're a seasoned health enthusiast or just beginning your wellness journey, this episode is full of practical advice to help you achieve your goals. Tune in now and transform your Costco shopping experience with Dr. Gundry!
P.S. Please, please, please read the labels of any packaged foods I recommend, like the Kirkland Pesto. Right now, it has sunflower oil. DO NOT BUY. Costco changes, as do other brands, ingredients. Stock up when they have the right ingredients-like olive oil instead of sunflower in the pesto-on the label!
P.P.S And no, Costco did not pay me for this episode. I’m simply sharing knowledge I hope is useful to you to streamline your path to total wellness!

I’m preparing to go to traders joe this morning but I’ve changed my mind. Here I come Costco!
Don't forget Costco Kirkland Signature 100% grass fed frozen beef patties.
Why are you also getting Costco kickbacks like Gundry?
@@mikepetrilli4686 - No, just a happy user. And why would it matter? It is very hard to get reasonably priced 100% grass fed ground beef. It has the correct fatty acid and amino acid profile compared to standard corn fed beef.
Agreed 👍🏼 They’re 80/20 ratio and 100% grass fed. They can be grilled straight from the freezer and are as healthy as they are delicious.
@@mikepetrilli4686 _Why are you also getting Costco kickbacks like Gundry?_
You know, it's possible for us to like a product without getting a kick back ... and wanting to share it with others.
Aldi also sells Kirkland
So glad to see you where we live instead of in a lab. Salmon, sardines, tuna, goat cheese, pistachios, EVOO, it’s like Disneyland. We are in our seventies, and you’ve made our lives better for years.
Tuscano EVOO at Costco is good.! It tastes good & comes in a dark brown glass bottle.
We love their Walnuts, Pistachios in shell, Sardines, & Olive oil in glass. Their organic virgin Coconut oil also rocks!
Thank you for the Costco available proteins and oils Dr. Gundry!
Thanks for doing this type of video. I can tell you aren't feeling your best hope you feel better.
We have been waiting for this Costco content, thanks Dr. G💫🌿🌷
🙋🏻♀️ DR. GRUNDRY I STOPPED BUYING NUTS THAT WERE ALLREADY PELLED BECAUSE SO TRUE IF YOU HAVE TO PICKEM OPEN YOUR SELF ITS TRUE YOU EAT WAY LESS AND ABOUT COSTCO FOR THE CHEESE 🧀 INFORMATION THANK YOU . KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK 😊
Thanks so much. Great info!
This was great! Thank you!
Always enjoy your guidance 🙂
Thanks a lot .
Thank you Dr Gundry
Thank you for this Dr Gundry!
Thank you so much for the product breakdown, so appreciated. Please keep these knowledge bits coming!
Excellent info.. thank you Dr Gundry!!
Hope u feel better and thx for the info :)
Thank you Dr. Grundry for the excellent recommendations. We shop at Costco and buy some of these food items. I will be looking out for more.
I tried the Tuscany olive oil, and it is pretty good, but their California extra virgin olive oil is just as good and has a similar taste as the Tuscany but is only 10 dollars, and it comes in a dark glass bottle too . The Tuscany is good for those who are in a diet ,because if you put one ounce in a shot glass to drink it ,it will make you feel full and you won't eat as much...
Eat Brazil nuts too, its hard to find organic pistachios cant find them
Just got home with organic pistachios from Costco without the shell.
Excellent information
Great info..tks Dr G!
Hope all is well with you!
Thanks Dr! (I don't forget the avocado! I'm blessed with a tree w/ Little Cado fruits on it! TYJ!)
Thank you Dr. GUNDRY. YOU are such a good Doctor.
Sweet!! thank you for the Costco Gundry Insider Report..I appreciate the insights especially w/r to the goat cheese and the fermented salami...as you might imagine we love Costco...thank you for the insights!!!
Thank you so much! I have always been unsure of what to buy and what not to buy for canned fish, meats and olive oil. You made my grocery shopping at Costco so much easier! PS I do like your olive oil and myself and my husband take 1/2 tablespoon of you oli every day!
Great Costco Tips‼️ Thx Doc❤
Tasmanian or NZ salmon is better the southern hemisphere is mostly pollution and micro plastic free
Great advice Dr. Gundry!
Fantastic!
Thank you from Scotland your expert medical advice 🍷📡🍷
I prefer myself a good Scotch malt over a piece of salmon 🤩
hope you feel better soon
🙏 I will keep buying all of these. 💚
Great tips! I’m a Costco shopper for all healthy options!
What do you get for a treat?
thank you so much for sharing this with us!!! How do we know if the sausage is fermented? will it say "cured" or does it have to say "fermented"? How long does a cheese have to age to break down the lectins and sugars?
Frizen fruit and veggies at Costco are great!!
Don’t forget avocados 🥑
and cold pressed organic virgin coconut oil.
I get frozen wild and canned salmon at Walmart.
I like the Season brand sardines in a can (from Costco) ... they are "boneless, skinless," but that makes them easy to eat, since it's about like eating a can of tuna. As a man, I'm not quite as concerned about getting the calcium from the bones (and I don't like the icky crunch).
In the mean time I'm getting a high-protein, no-carb lunch, with lots of Omega 3s.
MORE episodes about COSTCO , please !!! 🙏🏻
Aaaagggh
Dr Gundry! Thank You for share with us this very useful information. I found in my Costco in Miami a wonderful Italian Mozzarella Di Bufala, the brand is Fattorie Garofalo, it is delicious and comes in a 17.6 OZ for $14,69. Much cheaper than BUF mozzarella cheese at Whole Foods that cost $9.99 just 7.0 OZ
ILOVE YOU Paulie...Li dy,North Carolina.
Pistachios:The shell weighs as much as the nut. So Pistachios in the shell should be 1/2 the price as pistachios without the shell. Many times you will see pistachios in the shell sold in bags twice the weight as shelled pistachios, and they should be about the same price.
55-60 net pistachio.
Also important how processed. When California years ago decided to not let raw almonds be sold unless were pasturized in some way(heat,stem...), and costco was using a chemical(on all their nuts (not sure about seeds)), so only bought organic then. You can call them to find out, (person checked with Costco hdqtrs).
5:37 Pecorino Romano is my go-to cheese for grating.
I use a ton of EVOO. If there is a concern, separate in smaller bottles and refrigerate. Just a word from a Sicilian.
great podcast, what can you say about sesame seed milk
So are ziploc bags better than the equivalent at Whole Foods?
I’ve heard refrigerating olive oil helps it not go rancid as fast. I buy the big plastic bottle EVOO and transfer it to brown canning jars and keep it in the fridge. Is this a good thing to do?
Olive all should be kept in dry cool dark cupboard. Make sure the canning jars are dark colored.
I like that hell back a product and explane I like project farm too
Thanks so much, Doctor GUNDRY! I just have a question, the basil pesto that Costco sells even though it has sunflower oil, it hasn’t been fried or cooked or combined with any carbohydrate so would it still be OK for us to have in moderation?
Dr Gundry I agree pretty much with every thing you are saying but I disagree with the walnuts, I find that the organic ones are far superior quality in flavor and color... Cost a little more but worth it!
Very entertaining. Thank you. I think you left out Roquefort cheese which is always made from sheep's milk and always unpasteurized. Perhaps we only get this at Costco Canada.
@SuperWonderbar I take probably around four tablespoons olive oil a day spread out in three meals. I only cook with it. I am from Spain where we eat and cook like in Italy ...only use olive oil. My husband and I hardly ever go to the Dr. and take no meds. I cook all from scratch daily and I am 77 years old. Lots of fresh onions garlic celery peppers tomatoes...My husband 82 and I are remodeling an old house ourselves we just bought 2100 sf. This will be the last of several houses we have done these past years. So we do plenty exercise. No alcohol or cigarettes...very little sugar no deserts or snacks daily but once or twice a week.
How about the sprouted pumpkin seeds at Costco ?
I find that I get skin issues when I eat nuts. Can you comment on that please, thanks!
I'm thinking that I'm having the same issue. I just can't stop eating them though. I mainly eat Pecans and Pistachios.
What about the bpa in the fish cans? Isn’t it better to get fish in a glass jar? What about mackerel? Thank you!!
You say you buy the salmon in bulk when I season and cut it up into pieces amd put them into zip lock bags.
Do you freeze them then? I thought it wasn't good to refreeze salmon that is marked previously frozen..?
Thanks
You are correct. Here he is talking about fresh wild Alaskan salmon.
Yes. He is talking about fresh wild Aladkan salmon.
@@cathyowens1264 The problem, in northern Cali at least, is that the Alaskan salmon is frequently labeled "FRESH / FROZEN." So it probably isn't wise to refreeze.
Dr .Gundry ... could you do a review on non-stick pan. I'm having a very hard time looking for one that is safest.I rencently found this one that has a long list of NO this & that. But im still not sure whats best? I understand you will say just use stainless steel but it sticks though. SENSARTE Nonstick Ceramic Frying Pan Skillet
Thank you for all the great info. You sound different in this video. Hope you’re feeling ok. Voice sounds lower. Maybe just a new mic?
I eat sardines very healthy and tasty with lettuce grated cheese 💯
Balance it with a few walnuts for maximum benifits because of omega 6 and Omega 3 ratios
Get the Wild Planet Sardines and their canned Salmon. All of Wild Planet products are wild caught. I get Goat cheese from Zabars on upper west side. You can get sliced Dutch goat cheese at Trader Joe’s. Makes a great toasted cheese sandwich. I use my George Forman grill. Goat cheese doesn’t melt well, so stay away from using fry pan. My goat cheese is from Spain. I use California Ranch 100% California extra virgin olive oil. It comes in dark glass bottle. Make sure the olive oil is single source country olives.
@DrGundy, when is "salmon season"?
great advice. could you tell us more food we can enjoy at Costco
What about smoked raw salmon is it safe ? ive heard you can get tapeworms from smoked salmon
If it is smoked it won't be raw.
Hi Dr Gundry, regarding safe oils, I noticed in other videos you said Costco’s brand pesto is good but when I went to the Costco in Connecticut that product contained seed oil instead of olive oil. Also you recommended Hilary’s root veggie burgers. Again they contain sunflower, safflower or canola oil. Why would you recommend products with these cruddy highly inflammatory oils?
😢sad fact 50% of wild salmon DIE trying to swim past the toxic waste from salmon farms . Find Full documentary here on YT.. most large fish are ENDANGERED 😢 and have heavy metal
If you saw this on a documentary why the hell people don’t do anything?, cause no one wants to resolve this issues, and still people out there still bying farm raised salmon as is healthy where in reality is killing people with cancer already. People are so dumb. Is not natural that a fish now eat corn and soy. Fish don’t that kind of stuff. No one has to be a genius to understand nature. We must stop bying farmed raised salmon, cause they benefit from everyone making money while they are getting people sick and killing our ecosystem
When is salmon season?
summer
Pistachios are high in pesticides especially glyphosate
Another question: you've said cooking with olive oil does not break down the polyphenols; I cook with a LOT of olive oil. Is that bad for me?
Make sure you're using extra virgin olive oil and not just olive oil.
What about grass fed beef? Where do you get the best one
Alaskan,yes. Atlantic, no.
Is sasame SEED Oil ok? I stay away from all seed oils
Not to cook foods but add afterwards
Buy Gold Bars!!
What about Trader Joe’s? What is good there? How about their Sardines, SkipJack Tuna?
Unfortunately the "Season" brand is not really canned. It's sticky foil, no pull tab. That sticky foil does not last long and is not good for long term storage. Get a brand with a pull tab!
I love to eat sardines but I always remove the bones … should I be eating them?
Yes!
Pillar rock red salmon is the best in a can 3.99 a can
What abt castor oil?
I'm Sicilian, that little bottle of EVOO wouldn't last me a week
Hi Dr. Gundry is it a microphone issue or something with your voice? It sounds different today. Hope you are ok!
And that's only at Costco in the States, because here in Eastern Canada, we've totally different products, if ever!! :(
En même temps, on s'en fout un peu... Ce sont des exemples. L'objectif de cette vidéo est simplement de dire que l'on peut trouver des produits sains et nourrissant dans des grandes surfaces, peu importe le pays et peu importe la chaîne de magasins...
Eh?
Oh my goodness last year I bought a huge piece of wild salmon at Costco here in Canada. It was like 50 bucks, but it was so bright red that I thought for sure it was due to red 40 and I threw it away! 😭
Quel grand malheur ! 😵💫
Oh NOOOOOOO!
are the frozen salmon patties ok?
I was eating those not while ago and then when I read the ingredients I realized salmon Pattie’s full of bad oils so I don’t buy it anymore 👀.
yoda or the cookie monster
The wild sockeye salmon at Costco that is seasonal and in the fridge says 'previously frozen'. I would not buy it and freeze it again. I much prefer the Kirkland frozen Alaskan sockeye salmon that come in pieces.
Could someone post a list?
Take care of that Cold
I have fatty liver disease. And I still have not got with the right nutrition.Ists to tell me what I should and should not. I also have authorities. What nuts can I eat?Because I like to snack on nuts in the Evening
Everyone dont have Costco maybe try Sam's Club
Why not oil in plastic bottle?
Plastic leaches a lot of bad chemicals. Also make sure you get it in dark bottles, and it is single source country olives. I would also put your mixed tuna or salmon salad with mayonnaise in glass containers.
Bpa is in plastic don't eat out of plastic @@cherylelinsmith743
Pour ma part, je préfère l'EVOO de Crète 😊
Je peux en trouver dans beaucoup de grandes surfaces en Belgique.
Hope u
You get over that sore throat or whatever is happening to your voice
Hello, is it more risky to eat wild fish than farm fish due to the toxins and mercury?
just re-watch and focus better... 👍
maybe switch off the distactors.. 😉
Farm raised fish is bad for you, they eat off of their own waste.
Ok👍
Le poisson d'élevage reçoit des antibiotiques, des croquettes de volaille, des déchets de poisson et autres saloperies... C'est une horreur et une honte...
Better stay away from fish. Ok?
Why did they lower your voice tone in the post production ?
Is this some kind of joke😅
Salmon is not smell any more, only bisness
Bobby - Dr. Berg - now Dr. Gundry- pretty soon you won’t be able to get thru the salmon aisle at the Costco
Hey Dr. I can see and hear your not a 100% because I pay good attention to your excellent information...
This guy looks like the Judge in the Trump "Hush" money trial........
This is all from good store but t why the fee to joine when you dont buy alot.sure have Eno gh bu🎉sines .that why I joined Sams. Hope this is the year when they enhance social security. 52 years dence it was done❤😂🎉😢😮😮😅😅😊
