I knew these rascals back in the day. A lovely bunch they were too. Sadly, Wayne (the bass player) passed away recently. He was an absolute gent and I won’t forget him ❤️
Saw them many many times in Bridge house , Bracknell and wonderfull second home south hill park , they really were so good and such good times.. Gary in Australia and sadly Craig rip. Wonderfull memories of crazy hazy times… 🥰🥰🥰
Fucking awesome! I remember roaming around Reading one night, it was dark, I wasn't expecting it, but heard this amazing music coming from a field and followed it, it turned out to be this band and I will never forget how good they sounded!
Thanks for posting this, takes me back to my first psychedelic experience at the wild theatre in bracknell all those years ago, probably 89, a wide eyed 15 year old, what a night, what a band, shaped me, and shape shifted me too. Magic's, Hawkwind, Ozrics, went on to see them all multiple times. Gong and the here and now with hawkwind at their 25th anniversary bash at the forum, all day shrooms session, loved it. Had the pleasure of making friends with Nick Turner in later years RIP, the last true counter culture, feel so lucky to have really been part of it. Peace and love.
Wow the Crypt in London, no less than Deptford London, Loved this band, wondered recently what they were upto...That takes me back my psychedelic years in 84-86. Also always loyal to Alice in Wonderland, Monday night slot at Gossips, Soho.
Ozrics formed summer 1983. This was filmed 83ish, & MM Band had already been around for a year. Influenced by Gong & Hawkwind is more accurate, & that applies to both. Obviously Ozrics were more successful, but it's probable that this lot hadn't heard of them when this was filmed.
Thanks very much to the Magic Mushroom band who played Margate Lido UK in the 90,s thanks for the interview I recorded that I was able to play along with there cd they gave me under great risk because it was a cheesy Radio station RSL restricted service licence That was meant to play pop crap we had lock are selfs in the studio to play this serious the station is now kmfm margate now plays pop crap major respect to Gary Moonboot all the best from steve
Hi - not mark Hunt, but Jim Lacey on drums - this is the original lineup of the Mushroom Band recorded just after the release of Politics of Ecstasy. Me and him are now playing with Peyote Mothership myspace com/peyotemothership and continuing the tradition. If anyone out there has a copy of the video shot in the Marquee Club by Mike Mansfield for Japanese TV, that would be great to see as, as far as I am aware, no-one in the band ever saw it.
Funnily enough, like I Garry is a massive Zappa fan, so it wouldn't surprise me if Frank had at least some influence on their music, in fact, I should ask him.

Great sound for '83-ish. I don't dance much but I'd be spinning like a human Top! I bet they opened for Gong. Anyone know? Great band!

Hawkwind are a better, properly psychedelic act than this tame lot
Great band! prog-psych oriented... they remind me bands like Gong and Hawkwind
Used to be the highlight of bands we saw semi regularly at the Nag’s Head, High Wycombe. Great stuff!
