Now that's a show quality job right there. All the paint shops in my area can never get it that good. Gonna be tough to find someone who can lay it down like that.
BEEN AROUND BODY SHOPS SINCE 1968 !MY DAD WAS A GREAT PAINTER MY BROTHER AS WELL THEY NEVER LET TOUCH THE SPRAY GUN !NOW AT 59 IM ALITTLE NERVOUS !WORKING AT A SHOP THE PAINTER AND OWNER IS LETTING ME GET ME FEET WET WATCHING HIM IS A LOT OF FUN !AND HARD WORK TO !THANKS FOR THE VIDEO. VERY EDUCATIONAL AND THE FINISH PRODUCT IS OUTSTANDING !HAVE A GOOD DAY !GENTLEMEN!
Been watching all your videos over the last year and I've got myself a small workshop followed your Waze and I'm doing very good thank you for the videos
When you clear over clear it always comes out wet an very glossy . I like to paint an clear then wet sand the whole car with 800 then just re clear will be extra wet
I do the same thing only I use 600 for wet sand but do it dry than flow coat with double wet coat.l use 600 for extra bite makes a big difference down the road.
I color sanded cars for body shops for over 22 years to be exact and this is a kind of painter I've always wanted a man that's not afraid to throw a bunch of clear I'll take care of the rest
Nice job..all that tacking you did I hope you didn't get any trash in your paint. I like your new purple gun. Glad to see your wearing an air fed respirator. Nice video.
Wut are sum of the mistakes u used to make and wut did u do to correct them that wuld be a good video. Ur a great painter i started painting backin the day of laquers and enamels things were differnt laquers are sensitive to lifting enamels were cheap but looked good without clear. Today its a whole different story. Thanks for the vids keep on painting
Very nice result. So can you give some answer? Do you have a video how to prepare the bonnet / hood for painting? And instructions to get same result? Lets say i just want to paint my cars hood, it has lots of stone chips and tiny rust sports on some of these chips. My car is also black. TIA
Conventional gun ,LOTS of air and 1.2 or 3 tip and there is not a lot of material actually going on at one time works great for me.i swear that is the flattest I've seen in a long time .I couldn't get that flat without a big splash o lacquer thinner .looks great.
I don’t see anything wrong with the spraying very nice job people who say u sprayed to much must not understand flat surface spraying and years of experience and having a gun that sprays very good. great great job
Great job! Pressure, speed, overlap, angle, volume, fan, distance, and spacial awareness. I give you 79 out of 100 on the paint job and 91 out of 100 on the clear! Keep up the good work!
Always follow the TDS for the product YOU are using. Not what he's using. Some brands like axalta clears are 1 and half coats with no flash and others are 2 coats usually 5 to 10 minutes flash. Follow your TDS.
Finish1 720 clear can be sprayed 2 coats flash to hand slick or wet on wet limited flash 2 to 5 minutes between coats. I do wet on wet limited flash, Its like 1 coat but you go over it twice without waiting too long in between.
Hello my friend, I work in car sprays and I have a problem with vernic gelatin squirt. Wipe the piece well with water before spraying and wipe it with the rag of wiping, but do not give me a good result. The dust collects on the car surfaces and this requires a polishing pasta for the car. What is the solution in order for the car to appear smooth?
Really a great craftsman at work. You sir are a true professional. Sill i was surprised to see at 8.40 on wards there seems to be a bubble or is that a dust spot.
Two fat wet coats is pretty standard for any clear. Most of the spot/panel clears we use are designed for a limited flash application. It's hard to get them slick if you don't put them on back to back. Solvent pop is an operator error problem.
dropinbiking92 yup.3 or4 coats that just wet out,not dry butsmall peel with some flash time seems to work.on a complete where we are really gonna go after it with cutting and rubing4 light, but still wet coats, and start with 800 or 1000 wet.then 1500,2000,2500,and 3000.in most jobs im using a hard bit flexible rubber squeegee, not foam, ans a block, and 1 or 2 of yhese grits will be on a d.a.with a soft backing pad,and those marks give me a "guide coat" for the next grit.
Jason Damron definately correct for production.if you got time, and plan on wet sanding flat, mostly in custom ,more light coats will be a higher build with less peel to take out..but if your doing collision your definately trying to get a clean job in 2 coats so you can match the factory finishes texture..ilolguess im stating the obvious.
i am hard of hearing and close captions sometimes it dont said or different word ... can u pls tell me what cap size and nozzle u use ?? it look nice no orange peel

I was half-expecting the camera to pan up from the painted hood to The Gunman, with the opening scene being the reflection.
Gunny = someone who takes pride in his work awesome trait to have keep up that good work bro
Doing great gloss work is all about prep prep prep prep prep and prep. And a really nice booth.
It looks perfect. That thing doesn't even need to be sanded or buffed anymore. Its mirror perfect. That gun is awesome.
One of the most satisfying video’s on RUclips
Chuck Norris of painters. He said flow and it did.
More like Bruce Lee

Great job.....and I can't help but wonder if that purple gun is a Harbor Freight gun? Just curious.....
a true artist!!!
There is no way that they need to sand or compound to finish that hood.
That is beautiful off the gun finish.
Seeing the reflection of your gun, then of you near the end of the 2nd coat made the whole video.
Awesome job (as usual). 🤙
Hei gunman spot on its comes from another world ,l love this trade ,l'm doing for 25 years .when l see a outstending finish ,get me chills of joy
i think the Standox clear suggests to use the continuous 1.5 coat method.
i started a new job gunny .....but i still take a water break and watch ur vids....good work g mannnnnnn
That job is so flawless it doesn't need sanded or buffed
When you clear over clear it always comes out wet an very glossy . I like to paint an clear then wet sand the whole car with 800 then just re clear will be extra wet
Ya! That mexican flow coat.
nt3523 yes sir
I do the same thing only I use 600 for wet sand but do it dry than flow coat with double wet coat.l use 600 for extra bite makes a big difference down the road.
The Gunman already has a video on this from 2014!!
I color sanded cars for body shops for over 22 years to be exact and this is a kind of painter I've always wanted a man that's not afraid to throw a bunch of clear I'll take care of the rest

Looks beautiful... Man I feel like with my satajet 5000, if I hold the gun that close for that long, I'd get runs.. lol.

Lets say i just want to paint my cars hood, it has lots of stone chips and tiny rust sports on some of these chips.

Conventional gun ,LOTS of air and 1.2 or 3 tip and there is not a lot of material actually going on at one time works great for me.i swear that is the flattest I've seen in a long time .I couldn't get that flat without a big splash o lacquer thinner .looks great.

I've yet to find a clear that doesn't go to hell after 3 yrs outside.
My own cars get acrylic enamel.
Great job!
Pressure, speed, overlap, angle, volume, fan, distance, and spacial awareness. I give you 79 out of 100 on the paint job and 91 out of 100 on the clear! Keep up the good work!
Yeah boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks great.
Question.
@ 8:48/49 ish. Was that a small solvent pop about center area near the windshield side of the hood?
I noticed that too.
Beautiful
Magic Gunman...
How long do you wait between coats? Thanks for sharing your expertise with us! Your the best!

Probably just a spot of dust, trust me I remember the job and there was no bubbles in it
awesome...Germany Looks at you !!!
Like glass well done .
Very nice job on that trigger. Well done!
How wet was that first coat? Seemed to lay the second on right away. I'd get solvent pop going back to back like that with the clear I use.
dropinbiking92 same
Pretty sure this is a tack and whack clear so it will be fine.
Two fat wet coats is pretty standard for any clear. Most of the spot/panel clears we use are designed for a limited flash application. It's hard to get them slick if you don't put them on back to back. Solvent pop is an operator error problem.

Good job,I recommend to work from the center to the edge when clearing.keeps you from dragging anything.
+jared tatgenhorst gotta keep the wet edge wet though.
perfect, in a nutshell
Good morning Gunny, it is just plain beautiful. That is a top gun performance. Thanks for a great video.
