Looking back, I'm so glad they picked up that drummer from bad religion. He brought so much life back into the band that had been missing on hail to the king.
Yeah, Brookes is a mad man. they peaked talent wise in "The Stage". cant wait to see what their new album holds when they drop it.
Arin is a capable drummer, but the age gap did affect their creative direction.
They didnt miss anything on hail to the king. Drummer was told to keep it simple and grooving and that's exactly what he did. His real talent shined on carry on and not ready to die.
@@justinbowen1183 I'm not really a fan of Hail to The King, but Arin in Not Ready To Die was amazing. He nailed the a7x sound on that one.
@@Marta1Buck Naw, but A7X basically made Arin "Keep the parts simple" on purpose. Arin wanted to do more but they refused to let him.
I know Syn's solos throw you off, but that is what I like about his sound. He's not trying to follow "normal" patterns, he likes to experiment a lot. That is what I love about his style
I read an interview with him and Zacky. Apparently Syn is always reading musical theory books and practicing and Zacky gets annoyed because he writes co-lead parts that are too hard for him to learn.

I agree. Even if it doesn't sound normal to others, it sounds melodic to me. You could feel ot building up.
Gates has music theory degrees and has learned from some big name musicians over the years. It’s no wonder his patterns are pattern-less.

I think Synyster Gates said recently that he's used hallucinogenics to help him mentally and artistically. This song is probably one of those lol, such a sick song

Synyster Gates really makes the guitar cry its so amazing definitely my favourite guitarist of all time.
The solo at the start is a nightmare, took me a year and a half to master it on real guitar so when I play rock smith it just flows like butter

I adore this song so much. What you said about Avenged Sevenfold music not making sense and never seeing it before is exactly why they are my favourite artists. Its so unique and you have to listen to a song multiple times to unpack all there is
the little solo at the beginning took me forever to pin down, the hardest part is going from the full tapping to tapping the trill across different strings lmao. it's weird at first but once you get the "flow" down it's so smooth and satisfying
Synyster Gates is one of the best guitarists alive and this song showcases that. The guy is just unreal.
Hello fellow guitarist here. That comment you made at about 7:10ish is exactly why I can't play anything other than Avenged Sevenfold. Syn gets a lot of his ideas and stuff for solos and songs from Jazz actually. He's a huge Jazz fan and because of that nothing makes sense and he's really just a jazz/metal hybrid
Damn, Synyster Gates' playing is something else, literally.. I have the same exact issue you have. As the time goes I can sight read more and more different solos but never A7X.. His style is something else. Keep on rocking! 🤘
Yeah, A7X is just too good at what they make, especially Syn. This entire album has some of the craziest, most fluid, soulful guitar work I've heard from him, my favorite piece being the solo off "Creating God" or any of the flowing solos from "Exist." Truly mindblowing composition.
He reads a lot of music theory books and practices constantly so he can whip out insane shit that Zacky has complained is too hard for him to play along too.

YESSSSSSSS ONE OF THE BEST A7X songs. The solo is So Godamn good. Wish i could play it, but Synyster Gates is something else. Also Currently Doing Payments for one of his signatures. Should be paid off by The 16th. Good job on the song Chain. The Tapping beginning is Kinda Complicated so i feel you.

Anyones thoughts on Rocksmith +? I have Rocksmith added a ton of content to it. Rocksmiiith 2014 added a ton of content to it. Then moved to just truning all guitar tones off in mixer and only using Bias FX then Bias FX2. Are the tones good?
