    My suggestion for outfitting the Circe-class is: 2x IR Autolance (or 1x Autolance 1x Phase Lance), 3x Light Phase Lance, 4x Salamander missiles, Expanded Cargo Holds, Improved Optics, Integrated Targeting Unit hullmods. Fill the rest of the small mounts with PD. That should make the ship significantly longer ranged and damaging. Might have to build in a hullmod or two. Also keep the Asteria! It's my handle. :)
    I am suggesting Phase Lances because they are the single best, highest damage beam weapons you can buy, and they're vanilla!
    Also, the tutorial for Ilm is just for ground invasions, the attacking the spaceport mission you were considering before is a Raid, which you just need marines for and it's a whole different, much quicker thing. To conduct a raid, you go to View Military Options from the menu in the starport, click Conduct A Raid then you can just assign marines to attack specific industry (ie the spaceport industry) but you likely need many more than they suggest to come out without significant losses and guarantee victory.

    That Atlas would have been a nice pick-up. Just a tip, I think you should use your plasma jets when chasing. It should increase speed.
    When shopping for a storage ship, keen an eye out for the venture class cruisers. I like them because they can fight a little and have decent storage. They're the first ship I retire from my fleet, but early on they're great.
    Also, emergency burn when you are losing CR due to any kinda of space damage. it will prevent any further damage. You can literally fly through the sun without taking damage by emergency burning

      Ill make a note about the Venture, thanks. Also the Emergency Burn tip is invaluable, I had no idea I could get around Stellar bodies and stuff with it. Thank you.

      @@Phrosphor As with several other vanilla vessels, Ventures come in Base, Pirate, and Pather versions. Pirate versions will give you a large-size missile mount pretty early on for relatively cheap, though it faces backwards and thus requires missiles with tracking capabilities.
      You also referred to the Luddic Knights as "pathers" before; Luddic Knights (modded) and Luddic Church are quite a bit more moderate than the Pathers. It's similar to the dichotomy between the Resistance and Humanity First in Terra Invicta.

    If you’re already IN a neutron star beam, sensor ping, it’s worth four or five gas giant equivalents of data. Usually not worth going into the beam specifically for that. You can also collect data from the middle of binary star systems, magnetic fields, gas giants, black holes, or some other stuff

    • @Phrosphor
      @Phrosphor  Месяц назад

      Im trying to ping more but seem to be doing it at the wrong times, I will try and look out for more opportunities!

      @@Phrosphor I think you may have to be close enough for the visual pulse of the scan on the screen to actually contact the body or phenomenon that is being scanned for hyperspace topography data, even though you could have detected ships or debris from further away with your ships' extant sensor range

    Metal is fine to leave in storage - it’s value based. The thing that was costing you most to store was probably the Locomotive blueprint (which I would probably sell, honestly - at this stage of the game it’s so much money and you can’t support a cap ship even if you do build it)
    I have acquired the habit of never selling my last two gamma cores in Nexerelin, since you need them to build outposts, and they’re really not worth that much anyway.

      Good advice, thank you for posting it. Im keeping the Loco mostly because the community want to see it in action - I don't expect it to be any use and it won't be a priority at any point but at some point I will build it (if I get that far)

    14:20 Simply looking through the wiki or whatever was done on the second window did the darkening and color desaturation again, weird. Really have no idea what sort of setting only partially picks up the presence of that second window

    • @darloth
      @darloth Месяц назад +1

      Starsector resets the colour profile of whatever monitor it’s used on at first load, maybe switching is setting one again and then switching back is not resetting it?

      This is really frustrating as for whatever reason I can't see it when I am editing. I will just make sure not to click out of the window when recording going forward. Had a few other graphical issues getting the modpack working before I started recording but I thought I had put them all to bed.

    at ~ 9:10 you go into Simulation but ship has low CR. did you know you can just drag the CR at the very top of the refit screen so you enter with 100 CR into SIM mode?
    anyway thanks for the great content.

      The plan is not to build it early or soon, once I am established and already have a powerful fleet we will look at getting it setup - if we get that far. I am just holding on to it for now because why not? And we can sell it if we absolutely have to.

    Phros for your sake you have to put bulkheads on all your combat ships you are gunna pertinently lose ships otherwise.
