I put a towel holder in front of the switch for the water pump! The command strips makes one also. You are so right about the jacks I went over a bump and it came down and I didn't stop fast enough and it ruined the jack so I had them cut off and use what you use, only I painted mine pink! A pool noodle attached over the inside of the top of the door that works. Wish you could get a over.
Hi...nice home there...you're right, just nice for one person...do like all the big windows. good amount of storage space. Thanks for the tour...very cozy. Blessings
I always wanted the bathroom door on my Casita open to allow the air conditioning in there. But then the door was always in the way of my kitchen (I have the Liberty Deluxe model). So I just took the door off. I moved the mirror to the closet door. I mounted the towel bar inside the bathroom on the wall over the lower wire rack next to the toilet. It's secured with Command Velcro strips that's strong enough to hold the weight of a wet towel. I also added another shower curtain so that the toilet & sink areas stay dry. I used Command hooks for that shower curtain & just trimmed the curtain so that it's not so long.
We were in Capitan Sunday so we could to take my in-laws to medical appointments in Roswell on Monday. 111 degrees in Roswell. Capitan was a tad cooler, Stopped by your property on 2nd. Looks good.
On a positive note, at least Casita got the sewer/waste valve placement right. Ever notice how many rv's have the valves BEHIND the wheels. One good tire blow out and there is a strong likelihood that the pipes & valves are going to go for a flying ride down the highway.
That damn bird bath sink. Install slide out shelving under sink/range. 12v outlets!!!!!!!!! Yes, thoes stupid sharp corners! The greatest improvement would be the inside curve that runs the length of the trailer, eliminate, it would greatly increase cabinet space.
3:30 bright yellow or red tape will scream at you to watch your noggin' it won't dampen the blow but is a gentle reminder to duck ...I put tape on a hatch on an old boat I had, it worked well
Good video Rusty, if an innovative American company will listen and consider their customers comments for improvements and design changes will improve their product, bless the United States!
I hope you shared these tips with Casita when you got to Rice to have some little repairs made on your unit. They're all do-able things, not costing them any more, but definitely improving their product. Thanks for sharing the info. Happy trails.
Hi Rusty, love your videos. I would love to buy one of these if I was not 6'6" tall. Will be buying a NuCamp Tab 400 instead due to the interior height of 6'7". You wouldn't believe how many times I wish I was a normal height. LOL. Keep up the great videos my friend.
Good suggestions 🤔 cuz I am thinking about buying a new Casita. I have not been in one, just have seen it on RUclips. I would get the boondocking package with bigger wheels, lifted higher. Solar if possible at the plant.
I have seen other Casita owners have some kind of towel rack that’s in their bathrooms, if I find the video I’ll share the channel with you! And I think your improvements are really good ideas!
I think you have good recommendations!!! Are those baked bean cans or green bean cans?? Asking for a friend.🤔🤔😂. I called the emergency number. Jason said he didn’t know you. 🤔🤔🤔🤔. This was a great review👍👍👍👍
Some excellent tips for improving our safety. Rounded soft corners and rubber bumpers especially in the smaller RVs would be nice. Also the sharp edges need to be eliminated somehow. I'm researching Lithium ion batteries. Many are simple drop in type so all we do is remove our other batteries and replace with the Lithiums. Mach's gut und weiter so. Prost 👋👍👍
Excellent video Rusty. You pointed out some very easy changes that manufacturers or dealers could make. The interior height is disappointing. I am 6'5 and when I make my purchase it's to live in the unit. I cant live hunched over. I really care for the Casita and the way it's made. Regrettably I am going to have to shop elsewhere.
Hey Rusty, could take a length of3/8"or1/2" fuel hose,Split it down it length, and put on Edge of door Trim.Only a Recomendation ,Thanks for the Videos.
Jonathan at casita, are you listening? Old Rusty has some really good suggestions. I am sure rusty will give you a shout out and a pad on the back if you do something.
I agree with you Rusty and this is what I personally makes Casita a good manufacturer not a great one. They have been making Casita for 36 years, and the fact that they still have issues like the things you are showing here makes me think they do not care what their customers think or suggest. They make the Casita like it is and seem to offer little improvement year to year. The fridge is a good example. I cannot be the only one why have had the fridge door FALL OFF because Dometic uses PLASTIC for that load bearing hinge. Casita should themselves fix that problem when they make their trailers. Or at least warn customers this is an issue!
I would find a solar panel that is a bit larger than the back window (~170w) and mount it over the back window with a hinge on the top so it can flip up and become a sun shade for the back window and charge the battery...
Thanks for another well made informative video Rusty. Do you fell that the bathroom is 1) worth the space living alone. 2) Worth the money since . It seems that a number of issues stem from that space. Do you find the convince outweighs the space and money. Thanks.
My question is the wet bath, my daughter takes a shower like a duck, my fear is slipping and falling, since I have never used one what is your opinion?
Rusty, do you know someone with woodworking equipment, that could sand down the sharp corners of your pantry door? This would be a very easy job to do.
Industrial designers for these casitas, heed Rusty's advice.!!!!..get rid of those razor sharp edges.!!!.definitely have a grab handle for enrty..!! Oh NO,Rusty!! you are ready to dump the 'swivel swivel swivel"?? what about a bench seat where you are now storing 'stuff'. with under bench storage???
When they design the trailers maybe they should have people of different sizes and age live in them to work out those problems. Hee, hee. How has the frame held up? One of the Nomads had problems with the frame of the small trailer they have.
Rusty, how do you heat up the pizza without a microwave or oven? Great suggestions in the video. I smacked my head three times when I visited the showroom in Rice.
What was on your sink? Is that to dry dishes? I like that. Where did you get it? Also, where did you find that reflector thing that fits perfectly over the front door window? How is it attached? Thanks!
At 6 feet tall, I feel your pain Rusty. I hit my head going in & out of my Scamp 16er & just feeling cramped inside any time I stand up. Barefoot my head is on the ceiling. I also found the Maxfan manual knob with my head many times. So I am selling my Scamp. I have been inside a few other options I can stand in & not feel cramped. R-Pod is one idea or even a Ford 150/250 or 350 van with headroom. Ram van would be another option. I like what Casita did in the bathroom with a few cubby holes to store stuff. I also like the storage doors better because they come down & stay down, as opposed to Scamp that open upwards with no way to keep them up. The push button locks are also a great idea. I have told Scamp & will call Casita also to suggest they build a taller top half, 4 more inches would be great, charge another $1,000 or so & I would've gladly paid it. Make it an option for us taller folks. Keep up the good work.
Hey rusty, what agm battery would you recommend? Looking st getting a new battery for 13' scamp. Was thinking group 27 but I think you just changed my mind lol.
Rusty, we love to go camping and Casita looks awesome. However, I don’t think that the two of us would be a good fit for Casita. It’s not that we are large or heavy set people but people who would be having to step this way or that or sit down while the other is doing something. Would you still recommend the Casita if you had someone else living there with you?
I am on my second RV and I am convinced that RV engineers who design their models never spend a single weekend camping in the RV's they produce.
Hey Rusty, casitas should appreciate you, because this should improve their sales I hope. Thank you for sharing.
We have a 2011 Casita Spirit DLX, we love it. Best RV we’ve ever owned!
same here...love it
Always polishing that diamond
I have cut my head on all the stuff your talking about. I have the same year and model as you. Couldn't agree more...
Looks like the Casita is holding up good for full-time living.
solid
"you see these little screw, they fit well in your brain" LMBOOOO RANDY!
Casita should recruit you to be their spokesman. I hope you share this video with Jonathan. Great ideas Captain! 👍👍
Rusty, I hope that The RV Manufacturers see this video. It is just PRACTICAL suggestions!
thanks

Terrific video !! I love the Casitas, I want one of every size. I’m starting with the 13’ Patriot. 👍👌💥⭐️⚡️💫

Hi...nice home there...you're right, just nice for one person...do like all the big windows. good amount of storage space. Thanks for the tour...very cozy. Blessings

it's good now...just a few tweaks
Such helpful info, Rusty! Are you listening...RV manufacturers? Rusty is the one to listen to. Very smart.💙
Great video. I’m with you on the rounded edges and grab handles. I hope Casita is listening. Still #1 on my wish list 😘 Have a great day Rusty.
Cassita could make a senior model with things we seniors need.

Ok-On behalf of my 6 year old who loves "swivel swivel swivel", you can't get rid of the swivel chairs!! Lol!
I won't

Tall Dude, I have the same problem. If you don’t mind me asking, how much is the one you’re getting? The Casitas are so affordable
Good suggestions 🤔 cuz I am thinking about buying a new Casita. I have not been in one, just have seen it on RUclips. I would get the boondocking package with bigger wheels, lifted higher. Solar if possible at the plant.
Thank you Rusty for showing us your home and what improvements need to be made. Lovely home!
OMG...I went to Casita to look at their models and scraped my head when entering the 1st one. I even saw this video prior. Great review Rusty

yipppeee!!!

Yippee, Brother!

You need a bunch of pool noodles for the corners :(
A good palm sander would solve the sharp cabnet corners

👍 good interior casita tour
I love the Casita and would have one except I need an oven. So sorry they don't leave room to even add one. Scamp is the same way.
These new ovens they have, air fry-convection-rotisserie reg cooking might be a thought!
Jonathan at casita, are you listening? Old Rusty has some really good suggestions. I am sure rusty will give you a shout out and a pad on the back if you do something.

Maybe to dry it out.
Rusty, a couple days ago you recommended a 1953 youtube movie. What was the name of the movie? Thank you. Ed
