I have a 2017 Casita and had Little House Customs do all the mods this gentleman mentioned. They do a great job and I feel the mods were well worth the money. Larry Gamble has recently retired but someone else that worked with him has taken over. Check them out, Rusty!

What is that grid or vent Chris has at the left side of his back window (15:28). A window vent mod? Perhaps to leave window open AND locked? Please update, Thanks. An inside tour of Chris's modifications would be an excellent followup since this gentleman is obviously a knowledgeable about efficiency and ease of Casita use.

Casita manufacturer needs to take note and upgrade some stuff. Why put cheap flimsy jacks on a quality product. A better mattress is a must. I like them but if I bought a new one I would spend so much money upgrading and customizing stuff it would cost as much as an Airstream Lol. I really like the the Escapes made in Canada but they cost mid 30s I think. U got the Canadian exchange rate that helps a lot. I really enjoyed the video thanks again Rusty for your work.

As one of you commenters said, Little House is retiring at the end of this year (‘18) so get and appointment with Larry ASAP. He’s almost as far out as Casita time wise. Fortunately, it is my understanding that Mike, Larry’s right hand man is going to pick up where Larry left off, and I believe he is relocating somewhere close to your area. Safe travels!!

I saw on another YT channel last year that 2 other modifications the guy Chris went to are that housing for the propane tanks that is strong enough to support (& lock down) a generator, and a sliding rack to pull the battery out to service. The guy is booked up solid. Many folks book an appointment so they take their Casita straight to his shop when they go to pick up their new Casita in Rice TX.

Nice job on the trailer Chris. I’ve shared some emails with Larry Gamble and he’s been very helpful. Unfortunately he’s retiring at the end of the year. I had an axel modification I wanted done that he recommended but he’s not doing them anymore because of retirement. I fully get it. I’m retiring myself at the end of August.

Holy moly Rusty, this is a great video. Hubby did not want a Casita b/c of the wet bath. I was really disappointed and now after watching this I still want my Casita. Serious RV envy here in Michigan.

Rusty, great video, he is very wise and knows how to make things more efficient and beneficial. When you come across people like Chris do you get contact information for future use? He is one person I could see having in my contact list. I’d imagine the inside of his unit is tweaked just as well and thought out.

I had a Casita, and did a similar mod for the water, except I used the water fill port in the back of the Casita. I know Larry of Little House Customs, and he's great. I've been in his house, where people had driven Casitas there, straight from the factory in Rice, to his place to start mods. I took my old 87 Casita to him. My water tank fill from my truck to the Casita was actually done using a larger rectangular water tank I got from Larry, and with the same gravity fill concept.

Lucky find Rusty! Chris is a great resource for the after-market extended capabilities of the Casita. The basic Casita hasn't changed much in 30 years so these 'mods' have evolved over time. All those 'mods' though can be addictive. A wise Casita owner mentioned that they don't 'modify' anything until they have needed it twice. When I was at the factory, I mentioned something about all the mods available and the sales manager reminded me that hundreds of folks never need any modifications to enjoy their campers. Full timers though can probably appreciate the improvements more than the casual campers! You may be able to book some time with Larry Gamble after you pickup your camper but he stays pretty booked up from what I hear and is retiring at the end of the year.

Good Morning Rusty, Nice interview, very knowledgeable person with some nice upgrades he made to his Casita trailer. Something for you to think about when you get yours in a couple of months. I like those trailers, would like to find a nice used one to buy.
Running his generator off of propane is a great idea and will extend its life as it runs cleaner off of propane and you don't have to worry about the gas going stale and gumming up the carburetor that make them almost impossible to start.
I did the same thing to my Yamaha a few years ago.ruclips.net/video/-hU0CbEHIOA/видео.html
