i no longer buy prebuilt systems, but i always like to watch the teardowns .... interesting to watch how dell, hp, or lenovo build their systems and what proprietary parts they use... thanks for the upload

I have this and there's a lot of problems to upgrade this system. Unless of course if you're just upgrading the Rx 580 impersonator (it's a Rx 480), to a 2016 GPU. I tried to put in a 6700 XT and found out the hard way that the CPU will bottleneck then underclock itself (idk how to fix this without a Windows 10 fresh install so I might try that in the future, I tried everything else, maybe the CPU fan I replaced does this). Then the wires are very sharp, this dell has barbed wires in it so I recommend gloves if you're replacing the PSU. The case is very tight so you will have to use a lot of zip ties. The motherboard is stuck to 2400 mhz so if you upgrade it to 2666 mhz it will still be stuck to default. The bios will be a huge problem and will not accept anything other than the OG PSU (in my theory), when I replaced it the PC would ask for a hard drive even though I replaced it with a M2 SSD. So you don't want to change anything but the GPU/RAM or you'll end up with a constant annoying bios startup. The bios is the biggest problem besides the CPU fan which is glued to the CPU with it's Dell's concrete paste. So if you upgrade it you can only replace few things.
In conclusion I don't recommend Pre-builts especially when it's bios are very restricted and when now you can build a better system for cheap now. This wasn't bad for 2017 but aged horribly now.

That system in particular is kind of funny. The earlier editions of that system sold with an 8GB RX580... until Dell suddenly realized how much those 8GB RX580's were selling for.
So on Black Friday 2017, Dell had a limited quantity sale where they were selling that entire system for $450.
Those got snapped up fast because crypto miners were buying the 8GB cards for $700 a pop online. When the system was relisted by Dell on Cyber Monday, they had changed the configuration to a 6GB RX570 that couldn't be used for mining ETH.

I was never into the whole mining thing, I had a 1080Ti from day one in 17 when it was the hottest mining card in existence, I also had a 3080 from day one in 2020 when it was also the hottest mining card around... all my friends told me I should use the cards for mining, but I liked to point out that I make enough money to use my gaming GPUs as the toys they where meant to be without having to mine on them to justify their cost

@@dragonsystems5973 I got that 5675 for my kid because she liked playing skyrim and ARK.
After christmas I found a comment thread where, a bunch of people were complaining that Dell pulled the 580's from that model and put them into a more expensive version.
Funny thing is, it was only last year when the crypto boom inevitably crashed that her system was finally worth less than the resale value of her GPU, because miners were still snatching up those cards.
She has some emotional attachment to the case and would like to keep it if possible, and thanks to your video, I can look into upgrading her system with a new mATX board and CPU. Might throw in a cheap 120 AIO I picked up on eBay as well.
She's still gonna be using that RX 580 for a but though, because the CPU and MoBo are hitting budget limits.

I originally bought mine because at that time memory and graphics cards were shockingly expensive due to crypto miners. It wasn't the best pc I could have bought by any stretch but it was an absolute bargain

I have replaced the ram in mine and put in a m. 2 a warning would be that when you do the computer makes you mash f12 to go into safe mode you then have to choose your ssd and mash enter to force it to the main screen. I haven't found a work around yet, has anyone upgraded gpus? I have the one with the 1060 but want a 40 series card and wondering what will fit

No the 5675 is locked to first gen Ryzen Chips, you can't upgrade it past a Ryzen 7 1800x

@@TotallySearch Yeah, if you can find a motherboard for the 5676 instead of the 5675, the 5676 will allow 2nd Gen Ryzens because I have a Ryzen 7 , 2700 in mine, got it cheap and was a worthwhile upgrade. It is also Windows 11 upgradeable.
