First I tried downloading the new RAM wirelessly, a rookie mistake I admit (Kinda stupid when you think about it).
I later plugged in an Ethernet cable and started the download again but my cable wasn't wide enough and the RAM has gotten stuck. Posting this from my phone. Help. How do I get it back out? I tried flushing DNS but it backed up against the clogged RAM and leaked into my PSU :'(
TheBunniMonster Try to make sure your processor didn't deactivate your SLI config. Sometimes my PSU leaks and automagically shuts off all my processors to save orange juice. Also make sure your graphics cards are in the right RAM slots, check your motherboards manual to figure which ones to use.

As for your issue, try using pure orange juice with the bits in, if the OJ level gets too low, the PSU (Pure Squeezer Unit) will crush the bits down to top up your levels. Sadly, DNS (Do Not Squeeze) got flushed into mine, I think it's done for.

@@HedgehogY2K Actually 1Gb DDR3 sticks did exist, although they just shouldn't! Makes no sense! Don't think many units of those were ever made but... Saw some used ones on eBay years ago! That's rare enough but equally rare is the fact that some Chinese manufacturer is selling new LGA 2011 boards with Quad channel RAM capabilities and a NVME drive slot, as PhilsComputerLab has recently demoed.

Most modern PC users know it's not what Mhz the ram is, or even the CAS, it's what the heatsink looks like and if it has LED's or not

Deciding your applicable RAM capacity should just be a sliding scale based on how many chrome tabs you intend to have open.
Daley Yeah, in general, every 16 tabs you plan to have open at a given time add an additional 4 GB of RAM to your system... That's why I have 16 GB of RAM.

Depending on the size of your server, the ram needen might vary between 2gb and 2tb. I think that mineplex and other big servers are multi server servers (?) so they use multiple servers to run. If you want to run a server on your pc, then i am sure that you can at the same time uninstall windows

Assuming, the 20GB old windows 8/7 folder is still there in your PC, I'd downgrade to windows8, if I were you.
I've tried working with 2GB before and it's slowed down my system like never before.
That's not hell compare to my window vista from 2006. I upgraded to windows 10 and it only has 1 gb of ram ddr2. The only thing makes it decently smooth at times enough to operate is the graphic card that I upgraded directx12 with ddr3. It's unbelievable how it can play light games but it's motherboard is a dinosaur with new components expect for the ram because I couldn't find on that was cheap because it had to be dual channel 8 gb ram ddrr2 240 pin because it is a 32 bit operating system so it only can be install 4gb in each one. I found one that I knew are compatible but you have to buy it online (can't return once paid) and it cost about 142 usd. At the point I just rather buy a new pc but if it were to have that it would run perfectly smooth the operating system.
Watching this 4 years, nearly to the day, in the future as I'm shopping for RAM and trying to decide if I should upgrade from 8 to 16 or just do 32 because I know I'll need it.

One more thing, higher speed is not always better. RAM with lower CL is better than high speed with high CL. In fact, DDR1 with low CL is faster than DDR4 with high CL, google some tests. Always look for RAM with the lowest CL, then look at the speed.

Hi. I recently ran into some problems which may be because of not enough ram... My computer starts to stutter at simple tasks and my memory usage idle is 60% or something like that. I was using 2x4gb but now I am upgrading to 2x8gb. I stopped on HyperX Fury because it was recommended by a friend and it's also more affordable than let's say corsair (at least in my country). Thanks for the video :))

you forgot 3 extra tips :
1) Motherboard specs that gives ram frequency limit
2) CPU specs : CPU specs can limit memory frequency single/dual (example from amd support : support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/ddr3memoryfrequencyguide.aspx)
3) OS Limitations : Some OS 32 bits or 64 bits limit how much ram the system can handle. (Example windows 7 64 bits Home basic edition : max 8Gb ram)

2019 and 32GB of RAM is becoming the norm. And 64GB seems to be the taboo thing to us "Normies". Lol
In the past, I found various speeds of RAM just caused the overall RAM to run at the slowest speed sticks. However, when I tried to upgrade my 2 x 8GB sticks of Ripjaws RAM with another 2 x 8GB sticks of Ripjaws RAM sticks that are a slightly faster speed (other than that, all the specs are the same), I found they don't play nicely together. Rather than all the RAM just running at the slower speed of the older RAM, the all the RAM slowed to a snail's pace. It took about four times as long for my computer to boot and everything ran at about 1/4 of the normal speed, including loading web pages.
I removed the new RAM and the computer still runs like normal. I still have to try the new RAM on it's own, to see if maybe that's the issue. I'll also try both pairs of RAM, on their own, in the other pairs of RAM slots on the mother board. If the faster RAM works, then I'll have to fork out a small fortune to buy yet another pair of the same faster RAM.

Not only will used components be insanely cheap as the douchebags that drove up the prices in the first place won't be able to offload their shit fast enough to try and recoup some of their precious buckz, but manufacturers who have ramped up production to meet demand will quickly be left with an abundance of supply and an enormous decrease in demand causing new hardware prices to plummet as well :)

4 years forward, yes, 32 gb is mainstream for RAM as Smartphones are getting 12Gb.
depends on how practical we are though, 16GB I have right now doesn't even go over 50% even though I have lots of tabs open and gaming at the same time

I doubt that 32GB will be mainstream anytime in the next 5-10 years, considering how expensive RAM is today. I just upgraded today, my 16 year old PC, to 8GB from 4GB, and have yet to notice any significant increase in speed as a result. However, upgrading the system disk to SSD at an equivalent cost to the additional memory, provides a much greater improvement in actual performance than the additional RAM.
Consequently, it would not surprise me to learn that SSDs are having a very detrimental effect on new computer and memory sales. I doubt NVME and similar faster speed advancements will have the same effect on the market as SSDs, because those newer/faster technologies practically require a new motherboard. My 16 year old PC can take advantage of an SSD via its SATA interface but not so with NVME or similar advancements which don't have a standard SATA interface.
