      Hello David,
I am super happy with the visit to the surgeon and although I have somewhat put my life on hold to get back to 100%. I feel I can now focus more on the workshop.
      Thanks for watching.
      Take care.

Great stuff ! You're as fit as a fiddle. Why ? because you've pushed yourself, credit to the surgeon, but just as much credit to you, well done.

      Hello Colin,
Thanks for your kind words... Hopefully viewers can see that with some work you can back to an age related normal after a total hip replacement. Now I can focus on some of the workshop project I have hanging around and continue with my bike riding... Thanks for watching.
      Take care.

Whilst I was in hospital awaiting a hip replacement, someone appeared at the bottom of my bed and introduced himself as a member of the orthopaedic team and said the best solution for my problem (a fractured femoral neck) was to pin the joint back together. I said I had already spoked to other members of the orthopaedic team and it had been agreed that the method he was proposing usually did not have a good outcome and it had been decided that it was in my best interest to have a total hip replacement. He then said that he had read that I was keen cyclist and that I had sometimes ridden nearly 50 miles a day, which meant that I would wear the artificial hip joint out faster than normal and therefore require a replacement hip sooner therefore increasing the cost to the tax payers. It is supposed to last 15 years but I have no idea whether doing too much exercise will shorten its lifespan - there's only one way to find out I guess.

      Hello Raymond,
I have pondered the issue about riding my bike and wearing out my hip... I have reasoned that in 15 years I will be on my 80's so will be slowing down for sure. I think I will only ride my bike with until I am 70 as I started riding and racing when I was 13 years old and want to stop because I want to and not because I am unsafe.
I wish you the best of luck with your hip, thanks for watching.
      Take care.
      Paul,,
